The room fell dead silent.

Twenty seconds later, the pin-drop silence continued until the chairperson found his tongue.

"Wh-what is this? Mr. Adler knows Dr. Sutton?"

Jett didn’t turn to look at him as he humd, "We do. In fact, we are very close."

The chairperson’s eyes darted towards Kelsie sharply, twitching in displeasure as he forced on a cold smile.

"I found it weird she remained calm and composed all these while. It seems she knew you’d be here."

While he and the Reynolds twins fud in anger at the realization, the senior doctors were panicking.

"If you were close with Mr. Adler, why didn’t you say so? It’s not good that you just sat there and let us accuse you of lying when he was your alibi."

"Yes, why didn’t you say anything tbe entire ti? We wouldn’t have brought up the motion to dismiss you if we knew you were out with him that day."

Kelsie got to her feet, eyes devoid of emotion as she stared straight at them.

"What are you talking about? Do you plan to let off now that you know I’m acquainted with Mr. Adler?"

Not expecting their hypocrisy to be called out so blatantly, the senior doctors choked on their saliva, eyes darting to the still chairperson and the hospital’s directors to say sothing.

The chairperson walked out from behind the table before speaking up.

"While it is true you left during work hours, it wasn’t because you don’t want to work, it was to et up with the hospital’s shareholder to discuss sothing possibly important."

"We were only going to dismiss you as your story about being attacked by ard n didn’t sound credible until Mr. Adler said he was with you when it happened."

"Since we’ve co to know all that, there’s no reason to dismiss you. After all, the patient didn’t die."

He paused briefly to glance at the other committee mbers, his right brow raised questioningly.

"Does anyone still think we should go ahead with the dismissal? If yes, please state your reason."

The senior doctors and the other two mbers quickly shook their heads in refusal, leaving only Kelvin and Calvin.

Kelvin was forcing on a smile to hide the livid anger in his eyes.

He had seen Kelsie and Jett during the party four months ago, but Jett wasn’t one who frolicked with won, so he didn’t pay much attention to him and just concluded he was just being nice since Kelsie was an insanely beautiful woman.

But now... this atmosphere didn’t seem like they were just acquaintances. Perhaps, did they have sothing going on in private?

After all, despite the rumors about him being into n, Jett was still a man with a natural instinct to be attracted to won.

He had just thought of that when he shook the thought away.

No, that was impossible. Unless he wanted to be the talk of the country and worse, be ousted from Adler Group and the Adler family in general, he wouldn’t dare to take interest in a woman with the child ot another man.

"Mr. Reynolds, what do you think?" The chairperson called out to him ten seconds later.

Snapping out of his thought, he grunted in response, "Mr. Adler is the second largest shareholder in Haven dical Center."

"If Dr. Sutton does sothing like this again and it ends in soone’s death, it’d affect him more anything and cost him money. So I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and not pursue this matter any longer."

"With that in mind, this disciplinary hearing has hereby co to an end. Have a nice day." With that, the chairperson ended the hearing and left imdiately.

The staffs got up and quickly filed out of the room.

Now that Kelsie had such a powerful figure behind her, they dared not say anything negative lest it costs them their job.

And as it stood, they were also worried. They said a lot of cruel things when the hearing began.

If she recalled everything and decided to hold it against them, what was the chance of them leading a normal life in Silicone Valley again?

In a mont, the room emptied out, leaving only Kelsie, Jett, Eric and the Reynolds twins.

Kelvin put his hostility aside and took a few steps closer to Kelsie.

Until he confird the relationship between these two, he reckoned it’d be best to continue acting friendly to her.

What he didn’t know was that Kelsie could see right through him.

"Dr. Sutton, did you enjoy the food I sent yesterday?" He asked, flashing her a bright smile.

Kelsie rely flashed him a faint smile in return.

"Thank you for thinking of , Mr. Reynolds. But I don’t eat from that restaurant."

"What? Why? They make the best dishes."

"No reason. I just don’t buy from them."

Reynolds eyes dimd at the hostile yet non-hostile retort while Kelsie’s bright eyes bore a hole through his face as though to unmask him.

Of course it was just an excuse.

After hearing him say he was rely doing his job, she didn’t need a soothsayer to tell her he had found out her identity and wanted to get her out of his hospital as soon as possible.

It took a really thick-skinned and shaless person to be so sweet to soone they were actually furious with.

Kelvin then turned to greet Jett who answered coldly.

Sensing that he wasn’t welcod, he ca up with an excuse and left with Calvin.

As soon as he was gone, Kelsie sat down to eat Jett’s food.

The last thing she wanted was him impulsively blabbing her children’s identity to the whole world if she refused his food.

Furthermore, his food from yesterday had ruined her palate.

She couldn’t even stomach the food the nanny made in the morning.

As she spooned herself in relish, she sighed inwardly.

This man successfully had her wrapped around his little finger.

What a finished woman she was.

Completely finished.

But at least she gets to eat these tasty dishes.
