Ray imdiately noticed the towering figure with a distinct appearance and his gloomy face eased a bit.

The boy hurriedly pushed through the crowd and stopped in front of Castra, his eyes gleaming with complex emotions.

"Long ti no see."

"Uh, yeah, long ti no see, dear summoner." Castra scratched his cheeks and imdiately asked,

"What are you doing here, dear custor? A school trip?"

To be honest, which school trip would bring students to the Elven Forest but if it was the Althea Academy, it was entirely possible.

"No, it’s the first year’s orientation."

Ray’s answer made Castra twitch his lips.

Hahaha. Going to The Elven Forest for school orientation? As expected of the Althea Academy.

But since there were so many students, surely there would be many teachers hiding in the dark too?

What Castra didn’t know is that, not only were there a lot of skilled teachers of all professions hiding in the dark, there were also countless tiny flying magic orbs, recording and broadcasting the event far and wide.

Because it was a famous school orientation and the chosen place was equally famous, the audience covered half of the entire continent.

Non-summoners who had no "magic forum" gathered at bars and taverns, watching the event with a magic projection.

The students had just entered the forest for an hour, but they had encountered one strange creature after another, which naturally caught the attention of the teachers and the audience.

The audience who had never seen the Elven Forest didn’t think that anything was wrong, but the teachers who were following behind the students all furrowed their eyebrows uneasily.

"Has anyone reported to the instructors and the headmaster?"

"I have. Just now, the headmaster said that so elf elders sent a distress signal..."

"What?! Isn’t that dangerous?? We should gather the students and quickly leave the forest!"

"I-instructor, we have tried, but just now, a strange mist covered the edge of the forest...we can’t co out!"

"A mist with a formation effect??"

The instructors, the seniors and assistant instructors all had dark faces as they requested reinforcents.

At the sa ti, the students, blissfully unaware, started to chat among themselves.

"So where are we going now? What’s the mission again?"

"My group has to find this strange grass..."

"Ah, my group..."

The students stayed in their groups and started to chat, turning the forest into a noisy school hallway.

The group of students easily totalling hundreds imdiately made the forest "alive", unlike the previous tense atmosphere.

But among these people, a familiar elf prince looked around with wide eyes. The elf ancestor spirit next to him also had a grave face.

"Did a demonic rift open in our sacred forest?? How did those plants and animals get corrupted??"

"Uncle, uncle, what to do? Is there any news from our hotown?"

The elf prince was visibly anxious.

The elf kingdom was still deep inside the forest, crossing lakes, rivers and mountains.

If this strange corruption only happened on the fringe territory like this forest, it was still okay, but what if...

What if the hotown was in even bigger danger?

The elf prince’s face turned pale and his lips trembled.

"I have tried to contact other elf spirits in my hotown but no one answered."

The elf ancestor didn’t say anything anymore, just pacing around restlessly.

He wished he could imdiately return to his hotown, but the descendant was still with the academy and couldn’t go alone.

Not to ntion, going alone would be far more dangerous...

Amidst the noise around, a few instructors who were surveying their surroundings suddenly beca alert, their ears twitching ominously.

"Did you hear that wind noise?"

"It sounds like a group of flying creatures...are they bees? Or butterflies?"

One instructor who could see as far as a few kiloters away suddenly squinted and the next second, she almost bit her tongue, her face pale!

"N-no, it’s not bees or butterflies! They’re— "

"WAAHHHHH!!"

The woman’s voice was cut off by a baby-like scream.

The noisy students instantly fell silent as they covered their ears, their face crumpled as if they ate a bucket of lemons.

"Ah! What the hell! What was that sound??"

"Ugh! My ears!!"

Only Mario, Ray, Castra and the youngsters in Mario’s group suddenly stiffened.

They turned around and saw the Mandrake spirit already growing legs, seemingly ready to run.

The group’s faces instantly changed.

"Quick! Quick! Run!!"

At the sa ti, Crowie also flapped his wings and spoke in a dramatic tone of voice,

"Caw! Caw! A bad reunion! A bad reunion! They’re back! They’re back!"

Castra shuddered at the words "they" and he imdiately shouted at the group of students, not caring whether anyone would hear him or not.

"EVERYONE!!! RUNN!!!"

"The devilish fairies are back!!"

Simultaneously, the female instructor continued her interrupted speech.

"Fairy. They are a group of...evil fairies."

The instructors hiding around the students imdiately went full alert mode and the leader of the expedition roared with all of his might.

"Mages! Raise the barrier!!"

The sound of wings rubbing against each other and the sound of teeth clattering grew louder, as if they were rapidly closing the distance.

The students keenly sensed the instructors’ tense state and all of them fell as silent as dead mice, each one looking around with fright.

What could frighten their almighty instructors?

While the students froze in shock, the mage instructors imdiately chanted a spell.

Amidst the murmuring sound coming from all directions, sharp screams started to echo from the surroundings, followed by a loud, buzzing noise.

By now students and other instructors could finally see the true source of the sound.

No one noticed since when the sky darkened but the tall trees were all covered by densely packed flying creatures.

Iconic elf ears, butterfly-like wings, palm-sized bees, mosquitoes the size of a tennis ball...

The instructors all felt their hearts dropping to their stomach.

"Those are not just fairies!!"

It seed as if the whole insects and small flying creatures in the forest rged into one group, excitedly surging towards them.

"Kiiiiii!!!"

The mont the black swarm appeared, magical light shone beneath everyone’s feet and the lead instructor’s voice cut through the shrill screams,

"ACTIVATE THE BARRIER!!!"
