In the chaotic underground space, inside the deep pit.

A pile of small children’s bones were scattered like trash. Even without muscles or blood, it was clear that these kids had suffered a lot before they died, and their bodies were twisted in strange, painful ways.

At the top of the pit, there was a skeleton. Its pale phalanges were stuck in the gaps of the palm bones.

Johnnie also saw a slightly bigger skeleton, in a hug, holding a smaller one tightly in its arms.

He didn’t know what had happened here, why there were so many human children’s remains.

Skye’s eyes were filled with anger. He swung his axe and sent the huge Broodmother flying back.

"Did you see those tiny black cracks on the bones?" Skye looked back at Johnnie.

Johnnie looked again carefully and did spot the faint black lines on the bones.

Skye tried to stay calm, explaining that these innocent kids had been tortured by sothing called Bone Worms before they died. The worms would grow inside living people’s bones, causing unbearable pain.

"A long ti ago, Bone Worms were used for rituals. Back then, people were in tribes. When they faced strong monsters, so old or weak tribe mbers would volunteer to sacrifice themselves, letting the Bone Worms enter their bodies."

"Then the tribe’s priests could use many bones to control powerful monsters."

"The reason the Broodmother has two minds is because soone used children as sacrifices to try to fully control it." Skye said through gritted teeth.

Johnnie suddenly froze. He looked at the hundreds of bones in the pit.

So soone had once held a ritual here, sacrificing hundreds of innocent children!

Anger burned inside Johnnie. He gripped the Evil-Slaying Thunder Sword tightly, his muscles tensed, and a strong killing intent made the bloodthirsty monsters around him tremble.

At this mont, Johnnie finally understood why Skye had beco so angry after seeing the scene in the pit.

Johnnie took a deep breath and asked Skye, "Is the part of the Broodmother’s mind that didn’t know anything—was that made from the children’s souls?"

"Yeah." Skye nodded. "Their souls were trapped inside the Broodmother. They beca a way to control the main consciousness. You probably kept weakening the Broodmother, which made the main mind wake up."

"Now our first job is to find a way to control the Broodmother, and then think about how to save those kids’ souls." Skye said, taking a deep breath and swinging his huge axe, letting out his anger.

Johnnie imdiately used his Gifted Sword, turning the rocks and dirt around him into real flying swords. He used them to kill the Demon Creatures nearby.

The bodies of the Demon Creatures were almost all eaten by the Broodmother already.

So of the blood-red, bloodthirsty ones were even pulled up by the Broodmother’s limbs and thrown into its big mouth.

Swallowing. Giving birth.

This ti, the creatures that ca out weren’t normal. They were twisted and ugly, covered in lumps and oozing yellow-green liquid.

It looked like the Broodmother couldn’t eat the dead bodies anymore.

But luckily, Johnnie noticed that killing these ugly creatures still counted toward his advanced task for the Mage of the Five Elents.

Johnnie quickly checked his skills. Except for the Immortal Art Spatial Compression, all his other Immortal Arts had gone up by one level. Overall, they were all stronger and used less soul power than before.

That was good news for Johnnie, since he could only use soul power from other people’s bodies through the Heaven-Devine Stele formation.

Seeing the disgusting monsters around him, he didn’t hesitate. He imdiately used the Immortal Art Hellfire.

Boom...

A huge fire burst up, and the area turned into a sea of flas. The bright fire danced wildly, and the intense heat filled the air.

The hard rock walls of the underground space began to lt, mixing with the fire to form molten lava, burning nearby monsters into ash.

"See if you can still eat corpses now!" Johnnie controlled several divine swords, attacking the Broodmother crazily.

Only the Seven Sword remained unused. He was worried that if he used it, the Instant Kill effect might kill the Broodmother too quickly. That could be dangerous for the children’s souls trapped inside.

[Ding, you have killed stage 9 mutated Demon Creatures. Gained 100,000 experience points.]

[Drip...]

Johnnie had now reached Stage 8. Killing regular Stage 8 Demon Creatures no longer gave him any experience. Only Stage 9 Demon Creatures could give him 100,000 experience points each.

But right now, even getting one level up required a huge amount of experience. He used Hellfire to kill a lot of Demon Creatures around him, but the experience bar only went up a little.

However, Johnnie wasn’t too focused on experience. What he wanted to do right now was to take control of the Broodmother.

After leveling up, his strength had beco even stronger.

The Broodmother had already lost a lot of power from Johnnie’s attacks. Even though it had the strength of a Highgod, it was now completely outmatched by the furious Skye and Johnnie.

If it weren’t for the children’s souls trapped inside, Johnnie would have already killed the Broodmother.

Soon, the Broodmother’s huge body crashed down, its long limbs still shaking and trying to move.

Skye swung his axe several tis and cut off all the limbs.

"Now, we need to put it into The Map of Heaven and Earth. Then we’ll take it to the entrance of the Realm of the Dead. The White and Black Reapers might know how to save the children’s souls." Skye said, sighing deeply. He carefully stepped into the pit and started collecting the children’s bones.

Johnnie tried again. This ti, he successfully placed the helpless Broodmother into The Map of Heaven and Earth.

He looked down at the large pile of bones in the pit. His lips were tightly pressed together.

"Gifted Sword." Johnnie whispered.

The dirt around the bones instantly ford into many small, bladeless swords. They quickly lifted the bones to the surface.

These flying swords weren’t just for killing enemies.

So of the bones were only about 40 to 50 centiters long, curled up in a tight ball.

They weren’t children. They were babies.

Damn it!

These babies couldn’t even say a full sentence when facing the bone worms that made people suffer endlessly!

All they could do was cry, not understanding why they had to go through so much pain just after coming into the world.

Johnnie’s fingers trembled slightly. His anger stirred up a deep desire to kill.

He carefully placed the bones into The Map of Heaven and Earth, then used Illusory Body to quickly leave the underground area.

Once he got back to the surface, he jumped onto the Void Sword, turning into a flash of light that flew quickly toward the hidden realm’s entrance.

This ti, he had entered the Doe Family’s hidden realm just to complete the advanced task of The Mage of the Five Elents. But he never expected to discover the secret of the Broodmother.

The hidden realm belonged to the Doe Family. The sacrifice of hundreds of children was definitely tied to them. Even if they weren’t the ones who did it, they must know more than they were letting on.

No matter what, Johnnie was going to demand an explanation from Douglas.

At the entrance of the hidden realm, a group of the Doe Family’s genius teenagers, covered in wounds, were limping forward.

Cosmo, who had lost an arm, walked alone at the back. Occasionally, he looked up at the other genius mbers of the Doe Family with a cold, dark look in his eyes.

"Damn it! The hidden realm shook, and suddenly so demonic creatures appeared underground. They were acting crazy, chasing us all the way. This ti, we really lost big!" one of the Doe Family’s geniuses shouted, clearly not happy.

He looked up and saw Johnnie appearing in the sky. His cold, indifferent gaze completely ignored their pitiful state, and he just left the hidden realm.

The injured geniuses instinctively sped up and followed Johnnie.

As soon as they got back to the outside world, they heard Johnnie’s angry voice echoing from the sky.

"Douglas! You’re dead!"
