"For yourself," Kaizar cut in quietly.
His voice wasn’t loud.
It didn’t need to be.
The hall went dead still.
Seraphine let out a wild, trembling laugh, backing away as if cornered by ghosts. "You— you think you’ve won? You think any of this ends here? I will not be dragged out like so criminal— I am a noble woman!"
"Not anymore," the magistrate said coldly.
Guards moved.
Seraphine flinched back so violently she nearly tripped.
"Don’t touch !" she screeched, stumbling away from their reach. "I WON’T GO! I WON’T—"
Her voice cracked into a ragged, broken wail.
"You can’t kill ... please... please, I’m— I’m Seraphine Arven... I’m— I... I didn’t do anything wrong..."
No one looked at her with sympathy.
Not the nobles.
Not the court officials.
Not even Radomir.
Especially not Radomir.
His jaw clenched, gaze bored, irritated—
as if this pathetic display was beneath his attention.
Seraphine’s knees gave out, crashing to the floor.
Her sobs echoed through the hall, frantic and uneven.
In that mont, stripped bare of beauty, pride, and power—
she truly looked small.
The guards seized her arms.
She tried one last desperate twist, one last shriek of denial—
"NO— I REFUSE— LET GO! LET GO!"
They dragged her out.
Her screams followed her through the corridor, fading only when the heavy doors slamd shut behind her.
Silence.
The entire hall exhaled at once.
ical’s hands trembled, chest rising and falling unevenly. He tried to breathe, but a month of grief, fear, and longing crashed over him all at once.
Min‑jae turned.
For the first ti that day...
He allowed himself a real smile.
Soft.
Warm.
Alive.
ical’s throat tightened painfully. His eyes burned.
Kaizar was safe.
His na was cleared.
And the woman who destroyed their peace... was gone.
The magistrate straightened his parchnt, trying to reclaim the last threads of dignity in the shaken hall.
"This court is adjourned. Kaizar Amagi is freed of all charges.."
For a second, Min-jae froze.
It was finally over?
No.
It was almost over.
Seraphine was going to get beheaded but they also needed to take care of Radomir.
But at least one imdiate threat was gone.
He headed a sigh of relief, he was happy. He was really happy.
Min-jae turned to see Yura and Robert smiling at him as well as all the other eye witnesses.
It sward their hearts, to know justice has prevailed in the end.
Min-jae turned to search for ical, who was already walking towards him.
He gave him a big smile as he spread his arms.
He has won the war, ti to celebrate it with his husband.
"I’m back ho and I’m not leaving again.."
ical smiled, pulling Min-jae into his embrace. Hugging him gently.
"How I’ve missed you my darling. You did well today, I was blown away by how you handled the situation. You are remarkable, truly.."
Min-jae’s arms wrapped around ical tightly, as if anchoring himself after a month of storms and uncertainty. He could feel the steady warmth of ical’s body against his own, and the tension that had coiled inside him for thirty days began to unravel.
"I missed you too," Min-jae whispered, voice rough with emotion. "Every day... I thought of you. I thought... I might never see you again."
ical pressed his forehead to Min-jae’s, eyes glistening, lips trembling slightly. "You don’t know how long I waited... every night, hoping, praying that you were alive. That you would co back to ."
Min-jae chuckled softly, a sound mingled with relief and disbelief. "I told you... I’ll always co back. For you."
ical cupped Min-jae’s face in his hands, thumb brushing over the stubble at his jawline. "I know. And now... now you’re here.. And we can finally... breathe again."
Min-jae leaned into the touch, closing his eyes, letting himself soak in the mont, the love, the relief. "Nothing will take us apart again," he murmured.
"And I’ll hold you to that," ical replied, voice firm but gentle. He kissed Min-jae’s temple softly, then pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. "You’ve fought so much, for yourself... for . For us. I can’t even begin to tell you how proud I am."
Min-jae smiled, the weight of the last month lifting with each heartbeat. "It was a thorn in our lives. She had to be removed, if we want to live freely.."
They held each other there, in the middle of the emptied, echoing hall, the chaos of the trial and the downfall of Seraphine fading into nothing. For the first ti in weeks, there was only warmth, safety, and the quiet, unshakable joy of being together.
Min-jae finally whispered, a small, contented sigh against ical’s shoulder: "I’m back. And I’m never leaving."
ical tightened his embrace, closing his eyes, letting the simple truth sink deep into both their hearts: ho isn’t a place.
Ho was him.
Min‑jae turned to ical with a soft smile. "There’s soone I want you to et," he said, gesturing toward the young woman standing quietly nearby.
ical’s eyes followed his gesture. "And who might this be?" he asked, curiosity softening his voice.
"This is my sister... Georgiana," Min‑jae said, using the formal na as the court required.
Georgiana stepped forward, giving a polite bow. "It’s an honor to et you, sir," she said, her voice steady.
ical inclined his head with a gentle smile. "The honor is mine. I’ve heard much about you.." he said warmly.
Min‑jae watched the exchange, his chest swelling with relief. For the first ti in weeks, he could feel the tension of the trial lting away. Justice had been served. He was free. And now, they could all go ho.
Min‑jae reached for ical’s hand, intertwining their fingers as they stepped toward the exit.
The courtroom, once tense with accusations and whispers, seed almost hushed in the wake of Seraphine’s downfall.
For a mont, he allowed himself to savor the freedom, the warmth of ical’s hand in his, the quiet pride in his eyes.
As they passed the rows of nobles and officials, Min‑jae’s gaze flicked to the far end of the hall. There, standing tall and cold, was Radomir.
Min‑jae’s lips curved into a small, sharp smile. He raised a hand subtly and drew a finger across his own throat, a silent, unmistakable ssage: you’re finished.
Radomir’s eyes widened slightly, a flicker of unease passing across his face, but he said nothing.
Min‑jae turned back to ical, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. "Let’s go ho.." he whispered.
