Chapter 697: Jay’s Shock!
At this mont, Ryuunosuke and Adam were battling inside the AT Field.
anwhile, aboard the Eternal Ark...
"Hey, I’d advise you not to make a move right now."
"Because I’m still on this ship."
Vegapunk appeared by the railing and spoke slowly to Jay [the first generation], who was standing off to one side.
"Oh?"
"And you think you’re qualified to threaten now?"
Jay [the first generation] replied with faint amusent.
Even as he spoke, his gaze never truly rested on Vegapunk. Instead, it remained fixed on the battle unfolding on Ryuunosuke’s side.
"Indeed, I have no right to threaten you."
"But if you act now..."
"Then even if I die, Captain Ryuunosuke will learn everything about this place."
"Of course, you can also treat it as a bluff."
"You’re free to try."
"At worst, I’ll just die trying."
Vegapunk stared straight at Jay [the first generation], forcing himself to speak as calmly as possible.
Hearing those words, Jay [the first generation] finally turned around and looked at Vegapunk for the first ti.
"Back then, you were the one who begged to let you co along."
"And now that you’ve achieved your goal, you’re planning to turn against ?"
"If I tell Ryuunosuke about your past, what do you think he’ll think of you?"
Jay [the first generation] said aningfully.
Hearing that, Vegapunk rely curled his lips into a faint smile.
"Since when did soone like Mr. Jay start relying on threats to get things done?"
Vegapunk mocked him without hesitation.
Jay [the first generation] was initially indifferent to what Vegapunk had said.
But now, sothing clearly felt wrong.
At the very least, the situation was not what he had assud.
The Vegapunk standing before him really did seem capable of contacting Ryuunosuke at any mont.
And more importantly, Vegapunk still had not told Ryuunosuke about him.
That ant the most important thing right now was to silence Vegapunk.
And he could not do it personally.
"Don’t even think about it."
"I’m wearing this, and Gaino is protecting ."
"Even you wouldn’t be able to kill in one strike."
"Let’s leave each other a little dignity."
Seeing Jay [the first generation] fall silent, Vegapunk imdiately guessed what he was thinking.
It had to be said that Jay [the first generation] was far too similar to the Vegapunk of the past.
To achieve their goals, they would stop at nothing.
In the end, they would even forget who they were.
Of course, if Vegapunk had not t Ryuunosuke, he probably would still be just as obsessed now.
He had once assud Jay [the first generation], who had co aboard earlier than him, would understand better than anyone what kind of person Ryuunosuke truly was.
But now, it seed he had completely misjudged him.
With no other choice left, Vegapunk had to say all this to prevent the Dragon Hunter Pirates from being caught off guard.
"What are you talking about?"
"Can I join in too?"
At that mont, soone suddenly rose up from the deck itself and spoke calmly.
"Gowther?!"
"When did you get here?"
Vegapunk was startled the mont he saw Gowther appear out of nowhere.
Even Jay [the first generation], who had seed so calm just monts ago, imdiately stood up as well.
Could it be that Gowther had overheard everything?
If that were the case, then he would have to be dealt with too.
They had not even handled Vegapunk yet, and now another troubleso one had appeared.
"I was here the whole ti."
"I was just sleeping, so you didn’t notice ."
"By the way, you two were making quite a bit of noise earlier. I don’t know what you were talking about, but since you woke up, let join in."
Gowther looked utterly bored.
The mont they heard that, both Vegapunk and Jay [the first generation] let out silent sighs of relief.
Jay [the first generation] was relieved that Gowther had not heard their conversation.
Vegapunk was relieved that he had narrowly escaped death.
Now that Gowther had appeared, there was absolutely no way Jay [the first generation] would make a move.
Among the Dragon Hunter Pirates, the Seven Deadly Sins were unquestionably among the strongest after Ryuunosuke.
Not to ntion, Gowther specialized in dealing with souls.
In his current state, Jay [the first generation] would never take that risk.
"We were talking about who would win between Captain Ryuunosuke and Adam."
Vegapunk let out a light chuckle and casually answered for them.
"This?"
"There’s no need to discuss it. The captain will definitely win."
"The captain is the strongest human I’ve ever t."
"And among non humans, he’s still the strongest."
Gowther answered without the slightest hesitation.
It had to be said that back then, Gowther had already found Captain liodas absurdly powerful.
But after coming to this world, he finally understood what it ant to be outclassed again and again.
Ryuunosuke’s strength was not just in power alone.
It was also in his charisma.
Even Gowther could not think of a single reason to betray him while serving on this ship.
Of course, that did not include those who had boarded with ulterior motives from the start.
"So confident?"
"The one he’s facing is Adam."
Vegapunk asked, pretending to be concerned.
"Adam?"
"Is he stronger than Lilith?"
Gowther asked blankly.
Hearing that, Vegapunk was left speechless for a mont.
Indeed, if Ryuunosuke could subdue Lilith, then Adam should not be a problem either.
Even if he could not win easily, he certainly would not lose.
The exchange between the two made Jay [the first generation] rember what had happened earlier.
Ryuunosuke had returned with Lilith’s Heart.
And if Vegapunk had not stopped him just now, he might already have died beneath Ryuunosuke’s blade.
No, not even that.
He might not even have been able to leave a soul behind.
"I see..."
"So all we need to do is wait here?"
Vegapunk asked casually.
After all, since Ryuunosuke’s victory seed inevitable, there was probably nothing else they needed to do.
Under those circumstances, there really should have been nothing left to worry about.
"Yes, there is."
"For example, taking out so trash."
Before Vegapunk could even finish relaxing, liodas appeared, crouching on the ship’s railing.
At the sa ti, he stated their next task without the slightest delay.
"Taking out trash?"
Vegapunk looked puzzled.
"Commander, you noticed them too?"
"Should we wait for them to show themselves, or should we attack first?"
Escanor walked over as well, still casually wiping a plate in his hand.
The plate looked as though it had already been wiped countless tis, yet he continued anyway.
"When did our Dragon Hunter Pirates beco so passive?"
"Since they’ve already co, it would be rude not to greet them."
"Get ready. By the ti the captain cos out, I don’t want him dealing with a ss outside too."
After saying that, liodas drew Lostvayne.
"The aura of a god... a divine weapon?"
This was the first ti Jay [the first generation] had seen the Seven Deadly Sins fight from such close range.
Their commander actually wielded a divine weapon.
Although he did not know exactly what it was, he was certain it was no ordinary weapon.
"Yes, our friends have co. We should take proper care of them."
"Commander, I want to go too!"
Diana ca running over, raising the giant hamr in her hand.
As the wind from her movent swept past him, Jay [the first generation] froze on the spot.
"Another divine weapon!"
