On Angel Island, just as Ikki had expected, the White Berets finally caught up to the Straw Hats. This was, of course, because the crew had not paid the toll at the Gate of Heaven. Since Ikki had anticipated this, after the White Berets were repelled, everyone had gathered on the Going rry to wait.
With nothing to do while they waited for the "Express Shrimp," Ikki decided to try his luck with a lottery draw. He was fortunate this ti, not only getting so very useful items but also a system upgrade coupon. The system only needed five more cards to reach diamond level.
As Ikki was examining his new items, Luffy grew impatient. "Ikki, what are we waiting for? I’m bored!"
Wyper, who was also on board, looked at Ikki. He knew Luffy was the captain, but Ikki was clearly the strategist. Ikki had promised that if they waited on the rry, they would be taken directly to the heart of God’s Island.
Closing his system interface, Ikki smiled. "Here it cos!"
"Huh? What’s coming?" Luffy asked just as the rry began to tremble. Two massive claws gripped the ship’s hull. It was the Express Shrimp. The creature was incredibly fast, and its target was God’s Island.
God’s Island was actually a piece of the Blue Sea’s Jaya Island, which had been launched into the sky by a Knock-Up Stream years ago. On Sky Island, land is incredibly precious, so when such a large island appeared, the locals quickly claid it, renaming it God’s Island.
The Express Shrimp was incredibly swift. In less than half an hour, it had transported the rry to the altar at the very center of God’s Island.
"That was so fun! Can we do it again?" Luffy shouted at the creature as it began to move away.
But the Express Shrimp didn’t look back. It knew a god lived on this island and was terrified of getting zapped into a grilled shrimp if it stayed any longer.
"We... we actually went directly into the depths of God’s Island?" Wyper said in disbelief, looking at his surroundings.
Ikki placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don’t worry. Not only are we here, but we’ll also be eting a priest very soon!"
This ti, Wyper believed him. "Then what should we do? Those priests are a real problem!"
Before Wyper could finish, Luffy shook his arms excitedly. "Priests? Are they strong?"
Zoro grinned. "I wonder if there are any powerful swordsn here. I haven’t had a good fight in a while."
Their enthusiasm reminded Ikki of the valuable item he had just drawn. With a casual wave of his hand, a futuristic-looking box appeared. When he opened it, there were five elegant badges inside.
"Whoa, what are these?" Luffy picked one up curiously.
Ikki held up a badge. "This is the Anti-Electric Badge. As long as you wear it, you’ll be immune to all lightning attacks!"
Wyper’s eyes widened at the ntion of immunity to lightning. Enel is a lightning man! This ans we can completely ignore the power of his Devil Fruit!
With this and my trump card, could we actually kill Enel? Wyper’s breath quickened at the thought. But then he saw the limited number of badges and all the Straw Hats present. He figured there was no way he would get one.
Ikki seed to ignore him, handing the badges to Sanji, Luffy, and Zoro. Then, he held one out to Wyper. Wyper took it, completely bewildered.
"You want to fight Enel head-on, don’t you?" Ikki said with a smile.
Wyper nodded numbly. Of course he did. He had co prepared with a special Kairoseki weapon, ready to do whatever it took, even losing both arms, to defeat Enel and light the Shandorian lamp once again.
While Wyper desperately wanted the badge, he glanced at Nami and Vivi, who seed to be less powerful, and shook his head. "It’s better to give it to people who need it."
Nami noticed his glance and imdiately felt underestimated. Without a word, she pulled out her staff and shot a bolt of lightning at a nearby tree.
Wyper was stunned. He hadn’t expected the person who seed the most harmless to be so fierce. He then looked at Vivi. Smiling, she took out her Star Stream, a powerful weapon that looked like a long, sharp ribbon, and wrapped it around a huge tree. Without a visible struggle, the tree was instantly strangled.
Wyper’s eyes widened. Could it be that the strongest people on this ship are the won?
At that mont, Ikki placed the badge on Wyper’s chest. "Don’t worry," he said. "I’ll protect the others." Ikki had his own plan with Mjolnir, the hamr of a thunder god. He could use it to divert any lightning attacks from his allies onto himself.
Once the badges were distributed, Ikki addressed Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji. "This is your test. Enel is a Logia-type Devil Fruit user, so you can’t hit him without Haki. I’m giving you these badges in the hopes that this battle will force you to finally master it."
He then looked at Luffy, thinking of his rubber body’s natural immunity to electricity. "Luffy, you don’t need this badge. We don’t need you in this fight. If you’re bored, just go fight so of the priests."
With that, Ikki snatched the badge from Luffy and handed it to Chopper. Chopper looked confused. Did this an he was supposed to fight a god?
"Chopper, you’re a big boy now," Ikki said. "You need to learn to fight Logia users on your own!"
Seeing Chopper’s look of near tears, Ikki quickly added, "Don’t worry! The badge will keep Enel from hurting you! Besides, you’re a super doctor who steals people from the clutches of the Grim Reaper!"
This praise went straight to Chopper’s head. "Idiot! You bastard! I’m a reindeer, not a tanuki!"
The others just sweat-dropped, thinking, He basically admitted he’s a super doctor.
With his badge gone, Luffy was upset. The badges were cool and ca in a set of five, and he wanted to be part of the group.
