Kaido spent a quarter of a year, or three months, lost in a peculiar dream. During this ti, he lived an entirely different life. anwhile, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji also experienced three months as modern students.
Zoro beca the formidable leader of the kendo club, while Sanji, ever the ladies’ man, spent his days charming every girl he t.
Luffy and Ace, on the other hand, perpetually skipped class, opting instead for online gas, only to be frequently caught and "educated" on love by a stern Mr. Kaido.
As for Ikki, his experience was far from enjoyable. This was Kaido’s dream, and while Ikki’s ntal power was strong, it wasn’t as potent as Kaido’s.
To maintain the dream’s stability, Ikki couldn’t simply indulge himself as he had in Momonosuke’s dream. He was relegated to observing others’ enjoynt, his only dedicated ti being for teaching.
However, Ikki’s gains were significant. After three months of intense training, he had now mastered Busoshoku Haki (Armant Haki) and Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), and was currently learning Ryuo.
Despite these advancents, the teaching period was drawing to a close. Three months had reached Ikki’s limit, and Kaido was on the verge of waking up.
On what seed like an ordinary day, Kaido stood on the playground. Strangely, instead of a throng of students, only Ikki, Ace, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji were present.
"Huh? Why are there only five of you? Did the math teacher stop the others again?" Kaido mused, heading towards the classroom. He figured physical education was all about activity, and the math teacher always used poor health as an excuse to skip classes.
Just as Kaido was about to "liberate" so students from the classroom, Ikki stepped in front of him.
"Teacher Kaido, thank you so much for your three months of teaching. It’s ti for us to part ways!"
Kaido stared at Ikki, a flicker of confusion in his eyes. After three months in this dreamland, he’d genuinely believed he’d ti-traveled to a peaceful and harmonious world. Initially disoriented, he had eventually grown accustod to it, finding this world far more comfortable than his own.
"What do you an?" Kaido asked, his brow furrowed.
Ikki sensed Kaido’s slight distress. With a snap of his fingers, the surroundings dissolved into chaos. In an instant, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji appeared before Kaido alongside Ikki, bowing in unison. "Thank you very much, Kaido-sensei, for your teaching during this ti!"
After their shared thanks, Luffy grinned, "Don’t worry, Mr. Kaido, we’ll et again!"
With Luffy’s words, the dream shattered completely, and Kaido jolted awake.
Kaido’s sudden awakening startled Drought Jack, who had been wrestling with the decision of whether to rouse his captain. Though Kaido had spent three months in the dream, only three days had passed in the real world.
Kaido gazed at Jack, his eyes still a bit hazy. "So...everything I experienced was just a dream, right?" He paused, then shook his head. "No...it definitely wasn’t a dream! If it was, how could it be so clear?"
Jack finally spoke. "Boss Kaido, Doflamingo has been captured. Should we rescue him? He’s crucial for our supply of artificial Devil Fruits!"
From Jack’s perspective, Kaido would surely erupt in fury and imdiately storm off to retrieve their ally. But what happened next stunned him.
Kaido picked up his sake bottle, took a long swig, and said, "That kind of thing isn’t important anymore!"
He wasn’t enraged. His mind was still replaying the three months of his dream, desperate to consolidate those mories before they faded. Kaido had few good mories from his childhood, youth, or even his present life, but those three months were undeniably his best.
"Perhaps... I should open a school myself?" he mused. "But... Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Ace... why do those nas sound so familiar?" A realization dawned on him. "Ace? Is he Whitebeard’s son, who was killed by the Marines? And Luffy... is he that new pirate?"
With this thought, Kaido rose to his feet.
"Oh? Boss Kaido, have you changed your mind and decided to save Doflamingo?"
Kaido shot Jack a glance. "Forget about Doflamingo. Now, go find Straw Hat Luffy for !"
Though unsure why his boss wanted to find the Straw Hat boy, Jack accepted the task, vowing that if the Straw Hat resisted, he would beat him into submission before delivering him to Kaido.
At the sa ti, Ikki, Ace, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, who had also slept for three days, woke up simultaneously.
Luffy, upon waking, felt an intense hunger. Three days without real food was a long ti, and the "spiritual food" from his dream wasn’t cutting it. Sanji was equally hungry, though not entirely drained. He dragged himself to the kitchen to prepare a al for everyone.
Zoro, standing tall, imdiately began testing his improved Haki. He had not only mastered Ryuo but had also awakened Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror’s Haki) and its advanced form, Conqueror’s Haki Infusion.
Three months of focused study and simulated combat had solidified his abilities far more effectively than any spontaneous breakthrough during a real fight. Feeling the surge in his Haki, a smile spread across Zoro’s lips. He now had the confidence to challenge Hawkeye again.
"Number one in the world...here I co!"
After Ikki awoke, he wasted no ti testing his Haki. He ticulously checked all three types—Busoshoku, Kenbunshoku, and Haoshoku—and was ecstatic to find he could use them all seamlessly.
"Kaido-sensei... You truly are Kaido-sensei... He actually used a stick to help learn Haki in such a short period of ti!" In the dream, Ikki had learned his talent wasn’t particularly high, a fact Kaido had not hesitated to point out. "You are the worst student I have ever taught!" was Kaido’s frequent refrain to Ikki.
Law, who had been observing Luffy and the others, approached them upon their awakening. He imdiately noticed the profound changes. Law felt a chill when he sensed Zoro’sRyuo Haki—its aura was far more potent than his own.
"What did they experience? Did they beco stronger just by sleeping for three days?" Law was deeply puzzled. He thought to himself, "Next ti they sleep, I’m joining them to see what happens..."
