"Gurararara!"

A hearty laugh bood through the air.

There wasn’t even the slightest hint of fear despite being completely surrounded—Whitebeard was as relaxed as ever.

It was as if he were taking a leisurely stroll through his own backyard.

"You’re the ones who should be prepared for how many will die!"

"If you want my head—how much are you willing to sacrifice for it?!"

"Killing one of your Admirals doesn’t seem too unreasonable, does it?!"

Whitebeard raised his naginata, pointing it directly at Sengoku! The sheer arrogance in his tone was unmistakable.

His words made Sengoku frown.

Fighting Whitebeard was already an extrely dangerous prospect. And now, this was a Whitebeard who had resolved himself to die.

If he truly set his mind on killing soone, even the slightest opportunity would be enough for him to make it happen.

But now, the arrow was already nocked on the bowstring.

Nothing could stop this battle anymore!

No matter what, Whitebeard had to die here today!

Hearing this, Kizaru quietly took half a step back.

His hands, previously tucked in his pockets, now hung free. Adjusting his glasses—now just a twisted fra—his expression grew solemn.

Because when Whitebeard had spoken those words...

His gaze had flickered toward him for just a mont.

That single glance maxed out Kizaru’s alertness.

’Today! Even if I die here! Even if I have to jump off a cliff! There’s no way I’m getting anywhere near Whitebeard!’

But he knew.

No—everyone knew.

This battle... was unavoidable!

The gunners on the periter, hands sweaty, kept their aim locked on Whitebeard.

The Vice Admirals stood ready, tense.

Beads of sweat covered their foreheads, their grips on their swords tightening.

Garp lay sprawled nearby.

As if he were already dead.

Ace’s fate had hit him too hard.

He had done all he could.

He would take no further part in the siege against Whitebeard.

Not far from him lay Akainu, missing his jaw and half his head.

His eyes burned with fury.

That old bastard’s punch had been devastating!

It had taken off his entire jaw. But now wasn’t the ti for anger. The old man would surely face punishnt later.

The real problem was... there was nothing he could do right now. Might as well rest.

Looking at the surrounded Whitebeard, Akainu actually felt a strange calm.

Because that man was already dead.

No point in holding a grudge against a corpse.

With this overwhelming force, Whitebeard’s death was guaranteed!

On the sidelines, Vir was thinking the sa thing.

From the looks of it...

Whitebeard really wasn’t getting out of this.

He was done for.

But it didn’t matter.

With Big Mom’s special tool, even if he died, it wouldn’t be an issue.

The mont Whitebeard fell, all Vir had to do was stuff him into the dical Kit.

His soul should get pulled in along with it.

The dical Kit was reliable like that.

Then, a quick position swap, and they’d be gone.

After that, imdiate treatnt for Whitebeard.

Everything would work out.

Even if Whitebeard’s soul sohow escaped the dical Kit, it wouldn’t matter.

Big Mom’s tool could be adjusted up to eighty years of lifespan.

Distance wasn’t an issue.

Even if he had already reached the underworld, they could probably yank him back!

All Vir had to do now was sit back and wait.

Wait for their "beloved comrade, sworn brother" to be taken down by the enemy!

Pulling out a small chair, he plopped down on it.

Crossing his legs, he retrieved a cartoon-patterned cup from the dical Kit.

Inside was so goji tea brewed by Hancock.

Sipping it leisurely, he watched the spectacle unfold with great interest.

Under Vir’s gaze, Sengoku slowly raised his hand.

Whitebeard brandished his blade.

Just as the battle was about to erupt, as everyone prepared to charge—

A figure suddenly appeared between the two sides!

A short pink-haired kid!

"STOP! You have to stop fighting!"

The mont he appeared, the kid scread at the top of his lungs!

This sudden interruption made everyone slam on the brakes.

So nearly choked on their own montum.

The kid was wearing a Marine uniform.

So Sengoku and the others halted.

But at the sa ti, he was standing in front of Whitebeard—

Arms spread wide, as if shielding the man behind him.

Which left Whitebeard montarily baffled.

His already prid attack fizzled out.

Though the massive difference in their sizes made the whole scene look absurd.

The newcor was, of course, Koby.

Covered in dirt, snot, and tears, his entire body trembled uncontrollably.

Yet his eyes remained firm.

"Please, Fleet Admiral! If this keeps up... we’re all going to die!"

Koby’s tears continued to pour.

Looking at Sengoku, he gave a masterclass in sobbing hysterics.

But his words made Sengoku—no, everyone—frown.

Stop fighting?

In this situation, you’re telling the Marines to stop?

Buddy.

Are you joking?

If we don’t fight, are we supposed to roll out the red carpet for Whitebeard? Wave him off with smiles when he leaves?

Maybe even pack him so Marineford souvenirs, invite him to visit again soti?

What is this nonsense?

Trying to show the world how magnanimous the Marines are?!

This is a goddamn joke!

Who let this lunatic out here?!

You think just because you say stop, we’ll stop?!

Yes, more people will die if this continues.

But if we don’t fight, how does that honor the ones already dead?!

A war without casualties isn’t a war at all!

Every Marine’s gaze toward Koby turned icy.

So recognized him—he was one of Garp’s n.

But no matter whose subordinate he was, these words should never have left his mouth!

This was beyond stupid. This was legendary stupidity!

Pfft—!

From the backlines, Vir couldn’t hold it in.

A mouthful of goji tea sprayed out.

Watching Koby once again "stand tall" in the middle of the battlefield, Vir could only sigh internally.

He’d thought this guy wouldn’t show up.

After all, the situation had changed so much.

But nope.

Here he was.

In all his glory.

Did he seriously think he had any right to intervene in a battle of this scale?

Even if Shanks stood there right now, his words alone wouldn’t make the Marines back down.

In the original story, the only reason his plea had any effect was because of Shanks’ presence.

Akainu had been this close to reducing him to ash on the spot.

The enemy is in full retreat, and you’re telling us not to chase them? To just stop fighting?!

Vir finally understood how Akainu must have felt back then.

That urge to burn him to nothing... How could soone be this brainless?

But in the original story, the world hadn’t witnessed Akainu’s attempt to kill him.

Now, though...

What would the Marines do?
