As the car gently ca to a stop, the inertia roused Song Xici from her slumber.
Realizing she was leaning on Tang You'an, Song Xici startled, quickly sitting up straight and adjusting her clothes.
"Miss Song, um, my granddaughter has a ballet competition the day after tomorrow, so..." Old Ji, the driver, turned around, rubbing his hands awkwardly.
"Ah, I see. No problem, you have my permission. Go watch her, it's absolutely fine with ." Song Xici smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling.
"Thank you, Miss Song, really thank you!" Old Ji let out a sigh of relief.
"You're welco. Drive carefully on your way back, and please wish Sha Sha good luck for ." Song Xici said with a smile.
"Yes, yes! Thank you. I'll be heading back now." Old Ji said, unbuckling his seatbelt.
Song Xici waved at him, then let out a soft breath.
"Let's go, get out." Song Xici said, opening the car door and hopping out. Tang You'an followed suit.
"Ah, ho! My lovely ho! Mama's back!" Once inside, Song Xici changed her shoes, tossed her keys aside, flung her bag onto the sofa, turned on the heater, and walked to the water dispenser with a cup, massaging her neck.
After taking off her coat and drinking half a cup of water, Song Xici's gaze drifted to the fish tank nearby. She ambled over, cradling her cup, and smiled as she looked at it.
Grass carp are temperantal and need a lot of space. To keep this fellow alive and well, Song Xici had previously brought ho an enormous fish tank. Fortunately, the living room was spacious enough, otherwise it would have looked quite out of place.
It all seed rather silly, but also quite joyful sohow. It gave her a pure feeling, like returning to childhood - foolish yet happy.
"Sugar, ti to eat." Song Xici said, opening the fish food container and tossing a handful into the tank.
Tang You'an placed Song Xici's unfinished chips on the coffee table and walked over to stand beside her, looking at the fish and then at her.
"What? You want so too?" Song Xici held out a piece of fish food to Tang You'an.
"No..." Tang You'an shook her head.
"Go wash up and sleep. Don't you have to continue filming tomorrow?" Song Xici said, sealing the fish food container.
"Earlier at the set, when you praised my eagerness to improve, didn't you say you'd give
a chicken leg when we got back?" Tang You'an finally spoke up after pondering for a while.
Song Xici had promised a chicken leg, but upon returning ho, she fed the fish instead of giving her one.
Song Xici froze for a few seconds, then suddenly burst into laughter, covering her mouth.
"What's wrong?" Tang You'an looked at her, puzzled.
"Nothing, ahem... I suggest you spend more ti online!" Song Xici said, walking to a food cabinet, opening it, and taking out a bag of sothing.
"Alright." Tang You'an nodded, bewildered.
"Here, your chicken leg." Song Xici opened the bag on the coffee table, took out a packaged five-spice chicken leg, and casually tossed it to Tang You'an.
Tang You'an caught it and examined it curiously from all angles.
"Such a silly goose." Song Xici watched her with an amused smile, then put the remaining snacks back in the cabinet. "Alright, eat up, then wash up and get to bed. I'm heading to my room too. Good night!"
As she walked away, Song Xici rubbed her neck, then turned back to Tang You'an: "By the way, I got up too early and was busy all day, so I was tired and accidentally fell asleep on your shoulder. You don't mind, do you?"
"How could I mind?" Tang You'an climbed a few steps to stand beside her, pondered for a mont, then turned to look at her. "Actually, I guided your head to my shoulder, because I wanted you to sleep more comfortably."
Her voice was soft, tinged with a smile.
"Oh? Is that so?" Song Xici was taken aback.
"Mm." Tang You'an nodded.
"Well, thank you for your kindness..." Song Xici scratched her head. "Good night."
However, halfway up the stairs, Song Xici's brow furrowed. She stood there, clutching her stomach, unable to move forward.
"Xici, what's wrong?" Tang You'an tossed the chicken leg onto the coffee table and hurried over to the stairs.
"Old problem... acting up again, so annoying..." Song Xici bit her lip, her face pale.
"What is it?" Tang You'an leaned down.
"Stomach... ache..." Song Xici said through gritted teeth.
"Do you have dicine?" Tang You'an asked urgently.
"Yes... in my room..." Song Xici rubbed her stomach, exhaling sharply.
Tang You'an sighed, watching Song Xici crawl up the last step like an elderly snail, then stepped forward to help her into the room.
"Where's the dicine?" Tang You'an asked after helping Song Xici lie down on the bed.
"Over there, that cabinet, second drawer..." Song Xici pointed.
"Just a mont." Tang You'an walked over, opened the drawer, and found it filled with various odds and ends.
A green little dinosaur, a yellow chicken that made an unpleasant sound when squeezed accidentally, and so on. After rummaging around anxiously, she finally found several boxes of dicine.
Hearing Tang You'an searching through the drawer, Song Xici felt a mont of deja vu.
After finding the dicine, Tang You'an left the room without delay.
A short while later, she returned with a glass of warm water.
Only after ensuring Song Xici had taken the dicine did Tang You'an let out a sigh of relief. She took the half-empty glass and set it aside, then earnestly advised her: "From now on, you must eat properly. Don't skip any of the three daily als."
"Mm." Song Xici nodded. "But sotis in our line of work, it's just not possible..."
"At least don't skip als because you're oversleeping." Tang You'an said, as Song Xici had given her the impression of being a sleepyhead.
"Okay." Song Xici nodded, her eyes watering from the pain.
"You must keep your promise." Tang You'an continued.
"Alright, alright, I promise you... Now, go to sleep..." Song Xici coughed. "I'll rest a bit, then take a shower."
"What ti do you need to be on set tomorrow?" Tang You'an asked.
"Eight-thirty..." Song Xici replied.
"I see. Get so sleep then. Good night." Tang You'an finally smiled slightly before leaving the room.
After the door closed, Song Xici rested for a while, then turned her head to look at the glass on the bedside table. A smile suddenly touched her lips: "Thank you... for caring so much about ."
anwhile, Tang You'an returned to her room, finished her nightly routine, set an alarm on her phone, and began searching for foods that are good for the stomach. She jotted them down one by one until her eyelids grew heavy.
The next morning, after getting dressed and washing up, she went straight to the kitchen.
Opening the refrigerator, Tang You'an set her phone aside and took out ingredients to wash.
After preparing breakfast, Tang You'an checked the ti - 7:30 AM - and went to knock on Song Xici's bedroom door.
"Xici, ti to get up, wash up, and have breakfast." Tang You'an said softly.
But there was no response from inside...
"Xici?" Tang You'an knocked again.
Still no response.
"I'm coming in then." Tang You'an said before turning the doorknob and entering.
Inside, she found Song Xici lying face down on the bed with a pillow pressed over the back of her head.
"Xici." Tang You'an walked over, crouched down, and gently patted the bed. "Breakfast."
"Let ... sleep five more minutes..." Song Xici finally mumbled groggily, rolling over.
Tang You'an checked the ti and waited.
Five minutes later, Tang You'an patted the bed again. "Xici, it's ti to get up."
"Five more minutes..."
"Alright." Tang You'an stood up, walked to a hanging chair on the balcony, sat down, and watched the ti on her phone.
When the ti was up, Tang You'an put away her phone and returned to the bedside. "Xici, it's really ti to get up now."
"Okay..." But Song Xici fell silent after these words.
"Song Xici." This ti, Tang You'an's brow furrowed, her tone more stern.
Song Xici shuddered, rubbed her eyes, and opened them to look at Tang You'an.
"If you truly don't care about yourself, then I won't bother with you anymore." Tang You'an said with a frown, one hand in her pocket, then turned and gracefully left the room.
Song Xici was startled. Tang You'an's expression had been frightening. Had she just been scolded?
Seeing Tang You'an leave, Song Xici imdiately sprang up, rushed to her wardrobe, threw on a sweater, and dashed out.
"Wait, wait!" She called out, reaching for Tang You'an's arm as she descended the stairs.
But Tang You'an continued walking, ignoring her.
"Hold on!" Song Xici leaped down several steps like a rabbit, cutting Tang You'an off at the landing. In her panic, she backed against the railing, grabbed Tang You'an's collar, and pulled her close.
Caught off guard by Song Xici's forceful tug, Tang You'an stumbled slightly. She quickly steadied herself with a hand on the railing, her long hair falling forward, pupils constricting as she essentially half-encircled Song Xici.
In that instant, both won froze, staring at each other in stunned silence.
The soft light in the stairwell fell on Song Xici's delicate features, accentuating her beauty. The slight upturn of her eyes added a touch of wildness to her appearance.
Song Xici wore a form-fitting, milk tea-colored knit sweater that perfectly showcased her figure.
Inexplicably, Tang You'an felt an urge to embrace that soft body.
As she stumbled, Tang You'an felt a surge of emotion in her chest, with nowhere to release it. Unable to help herself, she parted her lips slightly as she gazed at Song Xici...
anwhile, Song Xici found herself staring at Tang You'an's beautiful lips, and a terrifying thought suddenly crossed her mind—
What would it feel like to kiss Tang You'an's lips?
