Chapter 306 - His Strength Is so Terrible Jia Renjie's Phone Call

Upon hearing the news, Zhao Gang's face drained of color. He stumbled backward, collapsing onto the armchair with a thud, his body going completely limp.

At that mont, the others, upon hearing the news, had their expressions shift dramatically. Sensing trouble, they discreetly made their exits one by one.

Before long, Zhao Gang was escorted away.

The Zhao Family's downfall, happening overnight, sent shockwaves through the community once again.

The orchestrators behind the takedown were none other than Jiang Hao and the Jade King, whose combined efforts ensured the swift resolution of the matter.

……

A new day dawned, and Jiang Hao received a call from Jia Renjie.

“Hello! Mr. Jiang, there's a private auction happening tonight in Tianhee City. Are you interested in attending?”

”An auction?” Jiang Hao's curiosity was instantly aroused, and he promptly inquired, “What are the main items up for bid?”

Jia Renjie's voice ca through the phone once more. “There's a wide array of items, with nine major ones. Among them are the personal sword of the Qin Dynasty's Great General Bai Qi, and a two-hundred-year-old He-Head Crow…”

“Plus, if you have any valuable items, they can be appraised by experts and potentially added to the auction lineup last minute.”

Jiang Hao felt a surge of interest and asked, “I assu there are certain criteria for attending the auction, right?”

Jia Renjie responded, “Indeed, only those with a net worth of at least one billion are invited to participate. Should I send an invitation over to you, Mr. Jiang?”

Without further questions, Jiang Hao replied, “Sure, have soone bring it to . I'll check it out tonight.”

Jia Renjie eagerly confird, “Mr. Jiang, would you like to arrange for soone to pick you up this evening?”

After a brief consideration, Jiang Hao declined, “No need. Just have the invitation delivered. I'll make my own way there tonight.”

With that, Jiang Hao ended the call.

No sooner had he hung up than Xue Zixi and Soong Wan each called in turn, both inquiring if he was planning to attend the auction.

Jiang Hao briefed them on the situation and then disconnected the calls.

Shortly thereafter, an envoy from Jia Renjie delivered the invitation. Encased in purple and gold trim, the invitation revealed a catalog of the evening's auction items upon opening. Jiang Hao perused the contents and couldn't help but feel like a pauper. The auction boasted an array of items: jade artifacts, renowned paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, furniture, and more, each with a starting bid of at least a million. Without substantial wealth, one might shy away from even glancing at these treasures.

Among the lots, several piqued Jiang Hao's interest: a two-hundred-year-old Hezhi Crow, an unopened chanical Treasure Box from the Mo family of the Warring States period, and a sword rumored to have belonged to the great General Bai Qi.

Yet, with his current financial standing, acquiring any of these items seed out of reach. Even though the Jia Family had pledged allegiance to him, and Jia Renjie would likely comply if asked to place bids on his behalf, Jiang Hao was reluctant. He could also turn to Xue Zixi, the Jade King, and others for assistance, but he was loath to incur any debts of gratitude. Favors, after all, were the most difficult debts to repay, and it wasn't as though Jiang Hao lacked the ans to amass the necessary funds.

Thus, he deed it unworthy to be beholden to others for these items. His attention then shifted to the final page of the invitation, which outlined the steps for last-minute auction entry. An idea sparked in Jiang Hao's mind, and he resolved to take action. Surely, the Vegetation Pill he had acquired would attract considerable interest at the auction.
