Renyu felt it as the knight in front of her was definitely stronger than her by quite a bit. Her coral armor also increased her defenses and the weapons she has increases her lethality. Merfolk that chooses the path of a warrior tend to have special abilities that enhance their bodies. The corals around this enemy might be the special ability that Coral has as all of her stats increased in one transformation.
The speed of the enemy also increased as she suddenly became a blur even when the pressure of the water is great. The only problem for that enemy is that she thought the threat is no longer the demon. She thought that the land dweller that she saw riding on a turtle can only do those spells underwater.
Coral is one of the hardliners that do not like any land dweller and would always look down on any royal that tends to do trade with them. She believes that those that live in the waters should only be dealing with those born in the same waters. She believes that the water dwellers are the superior race despite never even attempting to go above.
She would always say that her constitution is not good for the world above as her corals would dry up. She has only lived in the deep ocean ever since she was born. Not only was she ignorant, but she is also incredibly biased towards those that live in the waters. She believes that those living in the land cannot survive in the water while they who live in the water can just go to land if they want to.
To her, the superior beings are always those tthat live in the waters of the world. The only problem for her is that the war that the people that live in the depths are merely child’s play to what is truly happening in the world. If she knew that the mortals of the world above are fighting against gods then she would lose all of her understanding of the world.
"DIE, PRINCESS! YOU SHALL DIE JUST LIKE THE LAND DWELLERS YOU LOVE!" Coral shouted as she lunged towards Renyu.
Coral acted like she liked Renyu but she actually despises her. She never liked the mermaid that dared to actually create the bridge of the world above to the world below. Even though Renyu brought prosperity to the kingdom, she believed that the above world is all filth. She also never liked that a mermaid that likes the world above became a princess just because she was lucky saving the former merfolk king.
"We are totally ignored which I do not like. Gravity, increase by 500 times." Adrian stated as his voice sounded so manding as if he was telling the world to do what he wants.
Just as he said, the gravity around Coral suddenly increased to the point that her entire body got pinned to the seafloor. Unlike before that she could still carry herself up, she could no longer stand up even with the use of her hands. When she tried using her hands, the sound of her bones breaking could be heard as her arms broke.
Her coral body shattered under all of that weight and she could only release cries of pain. She looked at Adrian before she could no longer hold her head up. In the end, even her skull broke because of the pressure being emitted by the increased gravity. The carnage of her head being pulverized was not seen because of her coral helmet but the murky blue blood seeped out of her helmet.
Adrian did not expect that the effect of gravity would be so powerful in the world below. He knows that the effect might be amplified as they are closer to the core of the world but the amplification was a lot. Usually, beasts that are buffed would only be pinned down when applied with 500 times gravity but the effect clearly had tripled that initial effect. He then learned at that moment that gravity manipulation is the most effective weapon in the world under the waters.
"Your soul will not be allowed to pass through the afterlife that easily. Charon!" Adrian stated as chains suddenly shot out from his shadows and bound the soul of Coral.
All of a sudden, the soul of the dead enemy suddenly became visible as the chains that Charon used made her soul visible. Even when she is already dead, she is still struggling to escape to the afterlife but the actual guardian of Limbo is before her. Adrian did not expect that the corruption that she saw on Coral is also fixated on her soul. Her very soul has already been corrupted for a long time.
The guards around Princess Drona looked at Adrian with horrified eyes as they never thought that a powerful royal guard would die so miserably. They blocked their princess with the injured bodies but Renyu finally talked to disperse the tense situation. She as the one that talked despite her life was the one that was targeted.
"Please do not be afraid of us too much. We really only came here because we were supposed to go to the Forbidden Ocean area. I also want to know why Coral suddenly became feral but I think an explanation is also in order for the guards of Princess Drona." Renyu stated as she created a calming wave of water that healed the injuries of those around her.
"We also do not know, princess. Forgive us." The Two guards stated but they were clearly hiding something.
"They want to kill me because I was the easier target. They did not know that fate does not want to kill me. Thank you for saving us but we were on our way home just like the last time. There may be another factor why they decided to do this." Princess Drona stated as she bowed. The cute and innocent demeanor has changed to a slightly refined but still youthful aura.
"Princess, it might be due to the increased land dweller activity. It seems that wretched royal guard is part of the hardliners pushing for only water dwellers. She might want to use you as a tool for the Scylla Kingdom to destroy cities in the upper world. It would also trigger another war with the merfolk even though we are trying hard for peace." One of the guards stated as he has recovered.
"We just stopped a war by saving the princess!" Altum stated but Adrian’s voice suddenly came to wash the victory celebration that the former was planning.
"Who said that you stopped the war? For all we know, the war might have already started because the princess has been gone for a day already. If you have already been gone for a day, why have they not searched for you yet? It seems that the enemy or those that planned this is not only in the merfolk kingdom. There may be someone in the Scylla Kingdom that is also helping them." Adrian’s words suddenly made the situation heavy once more.
What he said is true because there should have been a search when the municators of Princess Drona could not be reached. A full-scale search should have been happening yet a day has already passed but no one came for them. Even if a Ghost Soul Leviathan was here, there should have been someone sent to subjugate it when they see it.
"My municator is also not working in this area." Renyu stated as her enchanted shell that acts like a phone in the underwater realm has no signal here but this place should not have any interference.
"Let us ask the enemy then. You! I order you to tell me! If not, I will let the corruption devour your soul." Adrian stated as he looked at the soul of the dead enemy.
"I SHALL NEVER TELL YOU!" The soul of Coral shouted despite the corruption in her soul flaring up and injuring her soul.
Adrian raised his brow as he never expected that she was able to deny his mand. Even if he is not in Limbo, he still has some power over souls. It seems that the corruption and madness that her soul has is being a shield for interrogations against her using her soul. Adrian no longer held back as he stripped her of protections. He was the one keeping the corruption of her soul at bay after all.
"What is happening! AHHHH! IT HURTS! STOPPPP IT!" Coral’s soul shouted as black sludge entity started to devour her soul slowly which made it incredibly painful.
"If you tell me what your plans are and who is behind this then I might help you against that corruption. If that corruption is not stopped then your soul will be devoured by the being you entered a covenant with. I am curious what kind of vile dark or distorted god you prayed to." Adrian stated as his form flickered for a moment to that of his form in Limbo but it was too fast to be caught.
