Chapter 670: Not Like This (Ch.671)

Neveah lunged in the next heartbeat, claws unleashed, she aid for the dark fairy which turned out to be a miscalculation on her part, one Neveah imdiately had to pay for.

The dark sorcerer was still in touch with his magic,

She had not even gotten far when a wisp of shadow wound around her ankle, wrapping itself tightly and it pulled her harshly down to the ground, her feet slamd right back to a standing posture, but with enough force, the ground beneath her feet cracked underneath her boots.

The feel of the shadow around her ankle was deathly cold, and the grip of the shadow was so tight, Neveah felt herself getting bruised even through the thick leather of her boots.

Not like Neveah had the luxury to be concerned about a bruise, at this mont, there was seemingly no way out for her.

Against magic, Neveah had one certain way out, but she could not risk it.

’Devirld is not a consideration, we must do this ourselves...’ Neveah’s wolf thought to Neveah, the very sa thought Neveah already harbored.

At this mont, Neveah could still feel Devirld on the surface but his presence was not abundant on her end,

He was still connected to Jian, supplying him the added leverage he needed to reach Xenon. It had already been a day and more in Dragon Keep, but it would only have been a short ti in the dinsion, which ant Jian was yet to reach Xenon.

Devirld’s ability was already stretched thin across ti and space separating two dinsions, any interruptions at this mont would possibly have consequences.

Neveah pulled harshly to free herself, her gaze was narrowed into a fierce glare fixed on the dark fairy.

While the shadow suddenly had a form of its own now that it restrained her, it was futile to attack the shadow itself when it would only disperse.

Neveah felt her shift take over her and she did not resist it, it happened in the blink of an eye, bones twisting and snapping, her wolf forcefully ripped her limb out of the restraints and lunged at the dark fairy.

Neveah’s sharp, glinting claws only got a deep swipe across the upper arm of the dark fairy before her hind limbs were restrained by stronger binds of shadows and she was tossed across the room.

But that shriek of pain, and the sll of the fairy’s blood was deeply satisfying to Neveah.

The harsh slam into the wall that followed shifted Neveah back into her human form and Neveah struggled up to her feet, the sharp pain around her ankle revealed to her her wolf had snapped their own ankle to get free and the shadows still restrained her ankles.

Neveah was pulled across the room, the heels of her boots scraping the concrete as her back harshly slamd against the other wall,

The wetness of the blood freshly drawn on the walls seeped into Neveah’s skin through the thin fabric of her inner clothing and Neveah frowned in disgust.

More shadows surged at Neveah, restraining her arms and her left leg and Neveah growled low in her throat.

"Do not fight it...you cannot get away. Your strength and speed is comndable, child. But it is of no use against Leon’s shadow sorcery." The dark fairy advised Neveah in a tone of sympathy, whilst clutching her bleeding arm.

There was no fair fight when it ca to magic, any form of magic at all and Neveah already knew this.

By strength, both the sorcerer and the dark fairy combined were nothing to Neveah, but magic was different... and even worse was dark magic.

"Do what you will then...why is it taking so much ti?!" Neveah hissed in annoyance.

The dark fairy tilted her head to the side, watching Neveah curiously.

"Even at this mont, have you no fear of death?" The dark fairy asked Neveah curiously.

"Why? So you can feel so sort of satisfaction watching

tremble? Soone should have told you you would not find the satisfaction you seek with ." Neveah spat out darkly.

"Not even if your death will leave your dragon tortured and in such unimaginable pain that he himself may not live through it? Do you really believe you are my only target? Or you do not understand that your life is worth so much more now than the last ti we crossed paths?" The dark fairy asked with a raised brow.

The unbothered expression on Neveah’s face slipped at that, it was just for a mont but it was still enough to have the dark fairy cackling in delight.

Neveah had known, but being confronted directly with it and what a severing would an to Jian, or what her death would be to Xenon whom she had carelessly marked, a cold chill of terror ran down Neveah’s spine.

’They are strong...they will live. Dante lived, if it cos to the worst...they will live...’ Neveah thought to herself.

"In the end, we all have sothing precious to us. Do it, Leon." The dark fairy instructed.

At that, the mass of shadows that had been gathering outside the cell surged at Neveah, and hot, white pain slamd into her like a boulder.

Neveah gasped in pain as the deathly cold shadows encircled around her entire form, slipping into her nostrils, her partly opened lips and her ears too.

Neveah’s entire body spasd in pain as the shadows invaded her body, she could feel her bones snapping and her muscles pulled taught, like she was being torn apart from within.

"You are still in luck, your soul will be ripped from you because attached to it is sothing we need, hence a piece of you will still exist...but your mortal body will die from the pain of soul extraction. It is an art of dark magic never before perford on a living person but once... you will be the second, you should be proud." The dark fairy still spoke.

Neveah could hear her words clearly even as the shadows tightened crushingly around the length of her body and even within her.

’They will live...but would they?’ Ca a thought that shook Neveah to her very core.

’I cannot die like this... I cannot die like this...’ This was the only thought, chanted repeatedly in Neveah’s mind as her mind was clouded by pain.
