Chapter 558: A Coincidence...or not? (Ch.559)

Kaz was quiet for a mont, a mont too long and Neveah took that to an he did not have a very good answer for her.

It dawned on Neveah that Kaz was calm, much too calm for a human who had just witnessed her slaughter over ten full grown n of his race.

He was completely unfazed, chatting to Neveah like there were no dead bodies lying around them.

Even for a human who could shoot a man right through the throat without blinking an eye, the level of Neveah’s brutality should still have left an impact on him...but it didn’t.

’He has always been suspicious.’ Neveah’s wolf agreed to Neveah’s thoughts.

Rage churned deep within Neveah, seeking an outlet, any opportunity to be released and Neveah barely restrained herself as her claws began elongating again.

"If I say sothing you do not want to hear, are you going to kill

like you did them?" Kaz finally spoke, posing a rather uncomfortable question.

Neveah’s brows twitched slightly, she tilted her head to the side and sucked in a deep breath, forcing herself to calm.

"It depends on what you are about to say, Kaz. I have already spilled blood, one more or one less would not make much of a difference." Neveah replied, her tone was much calr now.

But Neveah knew it and she was sure Kaz did too, that the calm would not last if he did say sothing wrong.

"I fancy you." Kaz replied, a statent that was completely out of the blue.

Neveah’s brows furrowed slightly at Kaz’s confession.

"I am well aware of your interest in , Kaz. That does not explain why you are here." Neveah asserted.

"Calling it an interest belittles it... I fancy you enough to have purposely made every effort to know of your movents as that is the only opportunity I can get to et you." Kaz continued, his gaze fixed on Neveah.

"I fancy you enough that I have threatened the city guard commander with the life of his wife if he fails to tell

of where you would be." Kaz revealed.

Neveah’s gaze narrowed slightly at that, her rage surging.

Kaz still stared straight into Neveah’s raging eyes and carried on.

"I would do it again too, you are well aware that I am not one who abides by rules. I only know that I want you, Lieutenant Vairheac... and this is how I beco when I want sothing." Kaz said.

Neveah could have sworn, those words carried with them an unsettling aura that had no place on a human.

But in the next mont, it was gone and Neveah was not certain if it had ever been there in the first place.

"Kaz, it has been silly of

to make an acquaintance of a human. I forgot for a mont... how emotional your kind can be, and how unhealthy these emotions of yours can beco if left unchecked."

"Let

be very clear, I belong to another and there will never be a place in my heart for anyone else." Neveah clarified.

"The heart is always subject to changes." Kaz said in response, unfazed by Neveah’s words.

For a human, he was quite daring. To even covet a lightblood. A bit too daring, Neveah realized.

"Not mine." Neveah replied blankly.

"I appreciate your efforts to ensure my safety, even knowing they were uncalled for. And for that, I will overlook the matter with the city guard commander... however, this ends now."

"I will grant the city guard commander full permission to execute you on spot if you are to ever approach him on his family again... and as for , the next ti I set eyes on you, bear in mind you might end up like one of them." Neveah made clear.

Neveah finished her words and walked over to the boxes the workers had been stacking up. She forced one of the wooden boxes opened, her gaze narrowed slightly to find it filled with different magical artifacts.

Neveah leaned down and forced out the upper layer of the box, finding an inner layer that was filled with a very familiar ore.

"Adamantium..." Neveah murmured through gritted teeth.

Neveah popped open another box and inspected it, there was even more of the adamantium ore hidden away and on the upper layer, there were other magical artifacts and gems including channelling gems marked with the royal seal of the r folk.

The kind of channeling gems that were only traded to the Fae council and the Fae clan leaders.

"The Fae have been up to quite a lot, have they not? Who will they cast the bla on this ti?" Neveah murmured to herself.

There were over a few hundred boxes stacked up in this storehouse alone and Neveah was almost certain this was not the only point of operation.

’This much is enough to make a solid case against the Fae, but one cannot link it to the light hall.’ Neveah’s wolf thought to her.

’I must go see Lord River for myself. If he will not cave in father’s na, then I will be the first to hand him over to narx.’ Neveah thought back

Neveah turned to leave, frowning slightly to find Kaz still stood there, watching her with his arms crossed over his chest.

Neveah had said all she had to say and so she headed out of the storehouse, knowing it would not be long till what had happened here was discovered.

Just as Neveah got to the door, Kaz’s words stopped her.

"Your own heart might not change, but how can you be so certain about the heart of another? You have experienced for yourself... just how swiftly the heart can change."

"Are you truly certain that there is nothing that can overturn the path you now walk?" Kaz asked.

It felt to Neveah like Kaz knew sothing about her that she didn’t but Neveah did not have the ti to ponder over it.

"You should leave, before anyone finds you. Creator knows an arrow would prove useless against the Fae." Neveah murmured and took her leave.
