Three days had passed since Kael found himself in this strange new world, and the weight of uncertainty was starting to press heavily on him.

His thoughts had begun to spiral, each passing hour intensifying his fear and desperation.

'I think I'm going to die soon', he thought, the words echoing in his mind with a sense of finality.

This is the only explanation I can co up with.

He had no mories of who he really was, no idea how he ended up here, and everything around him felt... so foreign.

But before he could delve deeper into his thoughts, a sudden sound broke his concentration—

"Ring"

"Ring"

What is that? Kael was startled by the sound.

It was the sound of a phone ringing, but he had never received a call before.

His hand instinctively reached for the phone lying on the table beside him, and as he glanced at the screen, his heart skipped a beat.

The na that flashed on the screen was

"Mother."

A surge of emotions flooded Kael's chest. Mother?

He had no mories of her, not even a single face.

But there it was, a na he didn't recognize but still felt strangely familiar.

What should I say when I pick up the phone?

He hesitated, unsure of what to expect, but before he could think further, his finger moved without his permission, answering the call.

"Hello, Kael. How are you?" The voice on the other end was warm, soothing, but there was a hint of concern beneath it.

Kael's throat tightened. The instinct to speak was there, but his words caught in his chest.

"I... I'm f-fine, mom." His voice faltered, and the mont the words left his mouth, he imdiately regretted them.

He couldn't even rember what it ant to have a mother.

There was a long pause on the other side, and then he heard her voice again.

It had softened, as though she were trying to read between his words.

"Does sothing happen?"

Kael swallowed, the weight of his uncertainty settling heavily on his shoulders.

Does she know? His mind raced as the reality of his situation set in.

He couldn't lie.

He couldn't keep pretending everything was okay when he didn't even know who he really was in this world.

He finally spoke, his voice quieter this ti.

"I... I think I've lost my mories of the past.i don't rember anything "

There was a mont of silence, too long for comfort, before her voice ca again, sharper now, with a mixture of concern and authority.

"Stay there. I'll be there in a few hours."

The call ended abruptly, and the last thing

Kael heard was the sound of the phone crashing, the receiver slamming down with a force that reverberated in his mind.

Kael sat in silence for a mont, his heart pounding in his chest.

Did I make the right choice? He thought. Should I have not told her? But before he could second-guess himself.

"There's nothing to regret if the work has already been done."

He couldn't undo what had just transpired.

He had opened a door, and there was no going back.

Now, all he could do was wait and prepare for whatever was to co next.

....

Nearly seven hours had passed since Kael's mother had ended the call.

Hunger gnawed at his stomach, so he decided to venture outside and find sothing to eat.

The world here looked remarkably like Earth, only more advanced.

Towering buildings, sleek vehicles, and bustling streets filled with people going about their lives—it all felt surreal.

On his way back, Kael noticed several luxury cars parked in front of the building where he currently lived.

A strange feeling washed over him, a mix of anticipation and dread.

Could she be here already? he thought, his heart racing as he reached his apartnt on the twelfth floor.

The door was ajar. He took a deep breath and stepped inside, every sense heightened.

A woman sat waiting in his living room, her presence filling the space with an aura of elegance and power.

Kael froze as he took in her appearance.

'No way... this can't be possible...'

His heart pounded as he struggled to process what he was seeing.

Sitting before him was a woman with striking white hair and golden eyes that shimred with an intensity he had never seen before.

This isn't just any woman, he realized, his mind racing.

'This is the Dragon Queen... Sephina.'

As if sensing his presence, she turned toward him, her eyes softening as a warm smile spread across her face.

"Kael, my child!" she exclaid, standing up and crossing the room in a heartbeat.

Before he could react, she enveloped him in a hug, as though he were a small child instead of a young man.

Her embrace was firm yet gentle, and her warmth radiated through him, a feeling so unfamiliar yet strangely comforting.

Kael's thoughts spun in disbelief. She... she's really my mother?

He couldn't reconcile the image of a powerful Dragon Queen from the novel with the woman now holding him.

And yet, here she was, looking at him as if he were her whole world.

She pulled back slightly, her golden eyes studying him with a mix of affection and concern.

"Co, Kael. I'll help you regain your mories. Sotis, after a traumatic event, fragnts are lost."

Her voice was soothing, a gentle authority that made it hard not to trust her.

Then, her expression grew hesitant, as if she were holding sothing back.

"But why have you lost your mories ," she said, her voice faltering montarily.

" just co with ."

Kael nodded, a sense of purpose stirring within him despite the overwhelming situation.
