Jimmy: "Yes, I know there were so videos in the news before, but at the ti, as it was still under investigation, we didn't respond. The person attacked that day was indeed ."

Reporter: "This attack reminds of another case in Manhattan, where several people attacked an agent on the road, and the agent fought back. Was that you?"

Jimmy: "Sorry, your question is unrelated to this press conference, and I refuse to answer. Any other questions?"

Reporter: "Can you tell us about your background?"

Jimmy: "I believe with your intelligence-gathering capabilities, my past doesn't need to be repeated, and it's unrelated to this case. Do you have any questions related to this case?"

Reporter: "I've noticed that over the past two or three years, you've frequently appeared in cooperation with other federal departnts. Is this a deliberate arrangent by your office?"

Jimmy: "Sorry, I cannot answer that question. I'm just a forr field agent. I'll reiterate, please ask questions related to this case."

Reporter: "What are the personnel and financial losses in this case?"

Jimmy looked around, then turned to Isabel: "Isabel?"

Isabel nodded and stepped forward as Jimmy stepped back, giving her the microphone, "In this terrorist attack and related cases, six innocent civilians died, three FBI agents died, and over a dozen were injured. The situation has not yet been fully resolved, and further results will follow."

Isabel looked at the reporters in front of her, "OK, if there are no further questions, this press conference is now over. Goodbye."

Isabel led Jimmy out of the press conference room, and only then did the reporters start leaving one after another. Simply put, this press conference again did not cover much, and more information would have to be gleaned from the DHS, since they were primarily responsible, and the FBI was just assisting.

However, the DHS press conference was held in Washington, D.C., so these local reporters in New York were likely out of luck.

Isabel and Jimmy walked side by side to the office, "Jimmy, your intelligence may not hold up for long."

Jimmy: "Haven't they already uncovered a lot? I rember seeing so of my old videos brought up in the news before."

Isabel: "Those were all their own investigations, not officially acknowledged by us. I discussed this matter with Mrs. Mason, and being the FBI, apart from so confidential information, most of it is public, especially for soone like you, who has excelled in multiple cases. Rember, you've received many dals, and ordinarily, your profile should be released in sync with the awards."

Jimmy: "It's not a big deal. As long as the public information doesn't pose any major problems, I'd prefer it to go no further than Plaskey County. I was awarded an honorary county police badge there."

Isabel: "Yes, I understand, it's the one on your desk, right? I'll find ti to photograph and organize these."

Jimmy: "You handle it; I'm not getting involved."

Isabel nodded: "I'll communicate with Mrs. Mason."

Jimmy returned to his office, opened his computer, and checked his email. There were no related new emails, just so CCs, which didn't matter.

The replacent for Hughes had been decided, though they had not yet taken the position. All that was known was that it was a female from the Atlanta office. Other information was unclear, or perhaps not shared with Jimmy since he was no longer in field operations.

He had no particular relationship or conflict with this new supervisor because she was sent from headquarters to take over; he was just a small agent hoping that when he returned to field operations, he wouldn't be blocked by her reviews. Seeking trouble with her now would be digging his own grave; best to avoid eting.

This new field supervisor might be a private choice from headquarters, considering Hughes left, they might want a confidant. There was also so possibility it had to do with the senator they're investigating; after dealing with Hughes, they might place their own people to avoid any further investigations against themselves.

One thing was certain; this new supervisor wasn't from Manhattan office's upper levels. Hughes managed to hold on until retirent, which ant he had support from above; without it, he wouldn't have lasted for three or four more years.

That evening, Jimmy saw himself on the news again, just a brief ntion, a picture of Isabel and him from the press conference with no further details. That was fine by him, less worry.

Normal days passed slowly. On this day, Jimmy was idling in the office, playing a crossword puzzle from the newspaper when he suddenly got a call from Jones, "Jimmy, are you at the office?"

Jimmy: "Yes, what's up?"

Jones: "Co over; there's trouble."

Jimmy quickly grabbed his suit and rushed out of the office, heading downstairs.

Jones worked with Peter, so if he was calling, it ant sothing had happened on Peter's side.

Jimmy rushed to Peter's office, Jones was standing in the eting room, and Jimmy went straight in, "What happened?"

Jones: "Jimmy, we need your help. Peter and Elizabeth have been kidnapped."

Jimmy was shocked, asking loudly, "What? Kidnapped?"

Jones: "Yes, they're missing. His car was found at a car dealership, but he and Elizabeth's phones were found in a trash bin two blocks from a robbed boutique."

Jimmy took a deep breath: "Now, tell what happened."

Jones: "This morning, Peter took Elizabeth on vacation, but after we split in the morning, they lost contact. The boutique we went to got robbed, and they were near the boutique. We found an earring on the ground suspected to be Elizabeth's.

We just investigated Peter's car, discovered at a dealership in Brooklyn's Flackbush, along with their phones in a trash bin two blocks from the boutique. We can now confirm they were kidnapped.

The kidnappers have been identified as Nate Osborne and his girlfriend Penny Chase. Nate was sentenced to fifteen years for assaulting a police officer and escaped from Hudson Correctional Institute last week. His girlfriend, Penny, has no criminal record.

We've contacted the command center. Agent Foster is currently investigating Peter's vehicle's movents to determine their location. Agent Simpson is examining Nate and Penny's correspondence for more clues."

Jimmy: "Good, any developnts in these investigations? Have you checked their registered addresses?"

Jones: "All registered addresses have been confird, and they didn't appear at any of them, indicating they have other hideouts. There's no result yet, but everything is set in motion."

Jimmy: "Peter's car being found ans the robbers ditched it; they either have a backup vehicle or will steal another one."

Jones: "We've already begun investigating all stolen vehicles, but it takes ti, and recently stolen cars might not be reported.

I need your help with finding people to assist in the investigation. I know you have influential friends. We need surveillance, tracking information, and every clue possible to locate Peter."

Jimmy: "OK, keep investigating and let know if you find anything. I'm going upstairs to request leave from Mrs. Mason, then I'll contact friends to see what I can do."

Jones: "Thanks, Jimmy."
