Hughes: "Jimmy, how are you?"

Jimmy: "Multiple fractures in both arms, a fractured collarbone, a loose lower right tooth, the rest are just superficial wounds. Recovery is expected to take about a month and a half, maybe two months for a full recovery."

Hughes: "What happened? Were you hit by a car?"

Jimmy: "It was Watson's case; their top agent went rogue. I didn't expect him to disguise himself as a doctor with a trash bag, pretending to take out the trash. He caught by surprise and we fought in close quarters."

Hughes: "What about him?"

Jimmy: "He was killed. You can turn on this computer and take a look."

Although Watson didn't allow Jimmy to go public, Hughes was different and Jimmy didn't plan on keeping him in the dark.

Hughes opened the bag, took out the computer, turned it on, glanced at the screen, then looked at Jimmy before turning to play a video on the computer.

There was no sound on the surveillance footage, so Jimmy could only judge Hughes' reaction to gauge where he was in the video. Soon, Hughes turned off the video and prepared to shut down the computer, "Very dangerous."

Jimmy: "Yeah, if I hadn't reacted quickly, his first attack would have succeeded."

Hughes: "What did Watson say?"

Jimmy: "Our part is done; they will handle the rest."

Just then, Jimmy's phone rang. Hughes helped answer, and Jimmy asked him to put it on speakerphone.

"Agent Yang, this is NYPD Patrol Officer Daniel. I was at the parking lot to support you today."

"Yeah, I rember you. What's up?"

"Just now, DHS agents took over the shot individual; he's been moved. I have a business card; you can contact them to verify if needed."

"I understand, since they've taken over, no need to worry about it anymore. Thanks, Daniel."

"Of course, goodbye, Agent Yang."

"Goodbye."

After hanging up the phone, Hughes placed it on Jimmy's bedside table, "You're in no shape to be alone, I'll assign soone from logistics to co over."

Jimmy looked at Hughes in surprise, "Is that possible? I was planning to hire a nurse or caretaker after wrapping things up here."

Hughes shook his head, "No, you can't move right now, your phone and gun are sensitive items, they can't be touched by outsiders. Let go confirm with the doctor first."

Hughes didn't give Jimmy a chance to refuse and imdiately left the hospital room.

After a while, Hughes returned, "Jimmy, you need to stay in the hospital for two more days under observation. I have arranged it; soone will co to take care of you. Take a break when you get ho. I'll give you a month off for now, and we can discuss it further depending on your recovery."

Jimmy nodded, "Alright. Hughes, there's sothing I'd like to discuss with you."

Hughes pulled up a chair and sat beside Jimmy's bed, "Go ahead."

Jimmy: "I want to go back to Quantico for a while, spend so ti there."

Hughes: "The reason?"

Jimmy: "I need to retrain and improve myself."

Hughes: "Because of the injuries this ti?"

Jimmy nodded, "This is the first ti I've been beaten so badly, and it also made realize my deficiencies. I want to go back to the academy at Quantico for a refresher, not just to train in combat but also to participate in courses on case analysis."

Hughes: "I'll think about it." He stood up, pulling the chair to the side of the wall, "I'm heading back now."

Jimmy: "Goodbye, Hughes."

The departnt-assigned person arrived shortly, a logistics mber nad Joel, not an enforcent agent, but still one of their own, which gave Jimmy so peace of mind considering all his sensitive items were in a basket on the table. Two guns, two holsters, two phones, keys, pen and paper, wallet, badge; these were things that really couldn't be handled carelessly.

Jimmy had Joel help him put on a Bluetooth headset and then called Nia to briefly explain the situation; he wasn't going to be able to see her for the next couple of days. After a short conversation, he hung up, and by evening Nia had arrived at the hospital with dinner.

Nia placed the food on the table, and Joel, very considerate, even closed the door on his way out.

Nia reached out and touched Jimmy's shoulder and arm, "Jimmy, how did this happen? How many people did you fight with this ti?"

Jimmy said with a bitter smile, "Just one person, a real boxing expert."

The look of surprise on Nia's face hadn't vanished yet, "Last ti you took on six and ca out fine, was this person that tough?"

Jimmy, "It's already not bad, at least I'm in the hospital, he's in the morgue."

Nia, "That's so pitiful, you can't move either of your hands now, can you? How many days do you need to rest?"

Jimmy, "Two days in the hospital for observation, then I can go ho to recuperate."

Nia pulled a chair over to sit beside the hospital bed and opened the takeout box, "Alright, I'll feed you."

Jimmy, "You're not working overti today?"

Nia, "Hmm, I'm taking ti off tomorrow."

Ah, this unfortunate injury spell, it's rare for Nia to take ti off, and now Jimmy is incapacitated.

A cloud of grievances seed to surface on Jimmy's face. Seeing his slightly twisted expression, Nia laughed too. She of course knew that she'd been working overti a lot recently and hadn't really rested properly. If it hadn't been for Jimmy's call today, she probably would have continued to do so.

Nia, "Don't be unhappy, I'll have a long holiday soon, and by then you should be almost ready to go out. We can go for a stroll."

Jimmy, "A long holiday? Chuck is that generous?"

Nia, "He's taking his vacation too, he's been working overti for two or three weeks straight."

Jimmy, "You guys are really busy, huh? Are there really that many cases to handle?"

While feeding Jimmy, Nia said, "There are indeed a lot of cases, but the important ones have mostly been dealt with. So cases that take too much ti or are not that important, we're putting off for now. It's not just us, other people feel the sa. Recently, the patrol officer departnt has also been very busy."

Jimmy, "Have so food too. Speaking of which, haven't you talked to your dad? With things being so busy, whether it's deploying more people or issuing a few special operations orders, it would take a lot of pressure off of you."

Nia pouted, apparently not very happy. Seeing her expression, Jimmy sensed there was a story, "What? He doesn't agree?"

Nia, "He's beco a complete bureaucrat, he doesn't think about these things at all. I only ntioned it a few days ago and was driven out of his study."

Jimmy was at a loss for words. This, it seed the script was all wrong, wasn't Nia's dad supposed to be the kind to see his daughter so busy and try to find a way to ease her burden no matter what?

They finished the al while chatting, and Nia didn't leave the hospital until Jimmy was done eating. Now, with his upper body immobilized, aside from watching TV, he couldn't really do anything.

Two days later, Nia ca to pick Jimmy up, his arm casts had been removed, only a cast wrapped around his lower arm remained, slung across his chest with straps, plus a stabilizing brace on his right shoulder. If he put on an orange prison uniform, he looked just like a maximum-security inmate.

Jimmy made fun of his appearance as he and Nia went downstairs, got in the car, and drove ho. As for the logisitics officer Joel, his task was also done. After two exhausting days, he could now return to the station, and of course, he wouldn't be short on allowances.

Nia helped Jimmy settle in his room before heading out to work at the police station. For Jimmy, it was just a change of scenery to space out; unable to move his arms, he could only use the remote control placed on his chest to switch TV channels and pass ti.

Finally, Hughes's call arrived, "Jimmy, I've agreed to your request. Once you're healed, you can report to the Quantico Academy."

Hearing Hughes's approval, Jimmy said with a smile, "Thank you, Hughes, I really appreciate it."

Hughes, "Don't thank yet, I've talked to Quantico, and they agree to let you audit the courses, but they also require you to serve as a temporary instructor and assist in teaching."

Jimmy, "No problem, I just left there a little over a year ago, I'm quite familiar with the curriculum. No issues at all."

Hughes, "Then it's settled, you can just report directly when the ti cos."

Jimmy, "By the way, what about the Homicide Team? Agent Mahong and his team just arrived and aren't familiar with New York yet."

Hughes, "Don't worry about that, I'll take care of it. That's all."

After thanking Hughes and hanging up the phone, Jimmy really made up his mind to train this ti. He couldn't continue to rely on his 'Heart Eye' cheat like in the past, it was too dangerous.

Jimmy thought about it and initially planned to call Nia directly, but since she would be coming back in the evening, he decided to wait until then.

That said, he'd been inconsiderate before. He wasn't alone anymore, but in considering training at Quantico, he had forgotten that Nia was still at NYPD and couldn't go with him. It looked like he would have to explain it properly later in the evening.
