Dave's mind was a bit blown; Jimmy's surprise—or rather, shock—was a bit too much this ti. He had never thought the CIA would be involved here.

The FBI and the CIA have always been at odds. Before, the CIA mostly operated dostically under the guise of the FBI. Since the '90s, when the FBI started to lead the handling of CIA spy cases, the two have been completely incompatible. Who would have thought there would be soone with a legitimate CIA background thriving in the FBI.

Perhaps Jimmy wasn't a formal CIA mber, but his mother once reached the regional director level, and Jimmy could establish good relations with the current CIA executives under her protection, clearly indicating his significant influence.

Recalling Jimmy's ntion of several elders attending his wedding, those people didn't seem ordinary either.

Dave contemplated with a drink in hand, internally prepared to start investigating Jimmy.

Dave: "Alright, rember your promise, don't let that person beco our problem."

Jimmy: "Of course, as long as no one actively causes trouble, he won't create any problems."

When Dave and Jimmy returned to the living room, Nia and Lucy were exchanging child-rearing experiences while amusing the little one, and everyone laughed along with the giggles and chuckles.

Nia hadn't had a single drink that night, to avoid the awkwardness of having no one to drive. Jimmy certainly drank, and with little Liam in the car, he didn't dare to drive himself, even though he was quite sober.

After bidding farewell to Dave and his wife, Jimmy and his family of three got in the car and headed to their Brooklyn ho.

Jimmy asked Nia to take the child up to sleep, while he grabbed a beer and sat in the living room, pondering his conversation with Dave that day.

Between the lines, Dave seed to be placating him, seemingly hoping he'd continue to stay put, waiting for their follow-up arrangents. As for how long he needed to stay in this position, there wasn't a clear or vague hint, clearly indicating they didn't want Jimmy to climb too quickly or too high. It was uncertain whether this was Dave's intent or if he had discussed it with others.

Jimmy had revealed his connection to the CIA. Unless Dave had high-level CIA connections, investigating Jimmy's mother, Veronique Durand, would be difficult. However, contacting forr and current Anti-Terrorism Bureau directors wouldn't be hard. Katherine only knew Jimmy had CIA connections but didn't know the details, and Noah Watson had returned to the headquarters long ago, with no recent contact. It was unclear if he had been promoted; he knew about Jimmy's relationship with Mrs. Valdez.

Roland was also a problem. Previously, he had been worried about himself and hadn't considered the possibility of Roland leaking information. Unexpectedly, because Roland helped him look at houses, it exposed him. Now it's a hassle. It's not difficult for the FBI to check soone, and if they can't find any related information, not even under the CIA's na, they might even suppress Jimmy under anti-terrorism claims.

To completely resolve this matter, Dave needs to abandon the investigation into Roland. The information he's leaked so far doesn't seem enough, but if he leaks more, he won't have many cards left to play.

Jimmy's biggest hidden background currently is the CIA, but given the twisted relationship between the FBI and CIA stabbing each other in the back, it's not certain he can manage it.

Then there's the Church. Dave knows about those supernatural events, and if Jimmy is willing to spend so ti and favors, the Archdiocese in New York could recognize an unofficial exorcist. The only issue is the lack of identity, but for the Church, that's not a problem. At most, they use special talent claims to brush off the FBI. If they were truly able to go against the Church for this person, Jimmy would have no choice but to send Roland back.

Jimmy was troubled on his end, and Dave wasn't any better off. After Jimmy left, Dave imdiately went through his files, and even though it was nightti, he still called Ruiz to arrange a eting.

Jimmy's engagent and wedding were two or three years ago, and now it's tough to investigate who attended back then. This matter certainly can't be done openly; investigating Jimmy is a very sensitive affair and can only be handled internally.

Apart from the wedding, there's also the Anti-Terrorism Bureau. Dave certainly knows about it, but the person most familiar with them should be Hughes. During the tenure of Noah Watson and Katherine Prado, most contacts on the FBI side were with Hughes, who was also quite familiar with Jimmy. So matters were more appropriate for him to handle.

The reason for doing this was mainly because of the attitude Jimmy displayed this ti, which made Dave sowhat worried. After Jimmy left, Dave recalled Jimmy's words again and suddenly realized he might have misunderstood Jimmy from the beginning. His ntion of eting elders and forr colleagues wasn't referring to his police colleagues back then. If looked at from his background perspective, eting people from other departnts becos interesting.

No one wants soone like Jimmy to leave the system. Even those who have opinions about him must admit that having such a powerful figure in the Manhattan office not only deters external threats but is equally effective internally. Otherwise, why suppress Jimmy? Because once he's on the rise, many things would beco difficult.
