Although it's the second ti Adam Maxwell has seen Jimmy, it's indeed the first ti they've talked. Last ti in the FBI conference room, he didn't even notice Jimmy.
If he were just an FBI Senior Agent, Adam could completely ignore him. However, that business card piqued his interest; not just anyone can use a senior senator's personal card as a calling card.
Back ho, Maxwell locked himself in the study and began investigating so materials, but he had no way to connect to the FBI database. He could only gather information in a personal capacity, and now wasn't the right ti to ask soone for help; it would be troubleso.
Jimmy Yang, this na he had heard before, but had never dealt with Jimmy's cases; he was relatively unfamiliar. In his impression, Jimmy was just a known figure in the FBI, very young, not a big shot.
The investigation wasn't fast, so Maxwell took a break in the study and then left to rest.
Jimmy didn't stop Maxwell from leaving. He needed to give Maxwell a bit of ti to investigate his identity, confirm Jimmy's relationship with Senator Hagerty, and when they communicate again, it would be most important.
When Maxwell could thoroughly investigate was uncertain, so Jimmy shifted his focus to Supervisor Karaway.
With Supervisor Karaway, things were a bit more troubleso. Firstly, discussing in the office was too blatant; no one could stand it, and it wouldn't look good if things blew up.
Secondly, not in her hotel room, because Supervisor Karaway ca from Atlanta, without a place here in New York. Initially, she stayed in a hotel, but due to the ergence of various cases, she hadn't had the ti to find an apartnt and could only temporarily remain in the hotel.
Now, Peter's case wasn't resolved, as the field supervisor, Karaway had to be in the office every day, so she wasn't interested in finding a suitable apartnt to live in.
Jimmy thought for a while and decided to et directly in the hotel parking lot. As long as they found a good corner that was off-cara range, the conversation wouldn't be a problem and wouldn't get leaked.
After work hours, Jimmy left the office to the underground parking lot. He sat in the car but didn't leave, waiting.
Karaway worked overti today. When she ca down and drove off, Jimmy followed her.
As expected of a supervisor-level figure, she had been away from the field frontline for too long. Jimmy followed her all the way with his CLS without being noticed.
But today was strange; Karaway didn't return to the hotel but drove to the Upper East Side. Jimmy followed her in the busy traffic, until Karaway entered a parking lot, then watched her enter a won's SPA club.
FK, Jimmy couldn't help but curse looking at the club's door, followed all the way for nothing, whatever, go ho.
On the return journey, Jimmy received a call from Maxwell, asking to et tomorrow night. Apparently, he had obtained information; Jimmy readily agreed to his request, even letting Maxwell decide the ti and place.
Finally, a task was getting accomplished, this counts as good news. Jimmy went ho and slept well overnight, the original plan to follow Supervisor Karaway after work had to be postponed a bit.
The next day at work, Jimmy routinely went to see Mahong. Their investigation had co to a pause; now they were seeking traces of Jas Bennett, and there were no updated investigation content currently.
Upon leaving, he happened to run into Supervisor Karaway at the elevator entrance, Jimmy thought for a mont and spoke directly, "Good morning, Supervisor Karaway."
Supervisor Karaway glanced at Jimmy, "Good morning, Jimmy, here to inquire about the investigation progress?"
Jimmy: "Yes, unexpectedly, there will be a press conference next week."
Supervisor Karaway: "Well, if you need any help, you can contact ."
Jimmy: "Okay, thank you, Supervisor Karaway."
The elevator descended to the first floor, Jimmy walked out and imdiately took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter, following Karaway out of the building. He stood nearby smoking, watching Supervisor Karaway walk away from Federal Square.
Jimmy finished one cigarette but didn't see Supervisor Karaway return. He took out another cigarette, didn't light it, just held it, watching the crowd around the square.
After waiting more than ten minutes, Jimmy saw Supervisor Karaway walking back from the roadside, he walked up a few steps, "Supervisor Karaway, is it convenient now? Just want a minute of your ti."
Karaway was about to enter the building, but hearing Jimmy, she stopped and looked at him, furrowed her brow slightly, then smiled, "Of course. Please speak."
Jimmy gestured for them to move aside; the spot he was smoking was outside the building and a blind spot in the surveillance system, which he had established a while ago.
Jimmy: "Supervisor, soone asked to pass a ssage to you. They hope you apply for a transfer, DC or any other position is possible, the matter has reached a conclusion. They asked to convey this to you." Newest update provided by novel·fıre·net
Jimmy took out a player from his pocket and handed it to Karaway; after listening to the recording, he had bought this new player and copied the recording into it in advance.
The professional smile disappeared from Supervisor Karaway's face, "Who?"
Jimmy: "I'm just a ssenger, conveying words and delivering things. You can communicate with the higher-ups later; I think they've already reached a consensus."
