After a brief word with the doorman, Jimmy headed to a eting room. A waiter brought over so cigars, and Jimmy picked a Davidoff, ordered a glass of Bourbon, and sat smoking while reading a magazine, waiting for Adam Maxwell to arrive.
A while later, a waiter brought Maxwell into the eting room. Jimmy placed his cigar in the ashtray, stood up to greet him, "Welco, Mr. Maxwell."
Maxwell looked at Jimmy, puzzled, and asked, "Mr. George? Have we t before? You look a bit familiar."
George was the na Jimmy left in his letter, worried it might be seen by others, so he didn't use his own na.
Jimmy smiled, reached out to shake his hand, then gestured to sit down and talk, "We've t once, a few days ago in the FBI conference room. Let introduce myself again, FBI Senior Agent Jimmy Yang."
Maxwell's expression turned sowhat serious, "What's your relationship with Senator Hagerty?"
Jimmy: "A bit of a relationship, but not much. Would you like one? The cigars here are quite good."
Jimmy pressed the service button on the table, and a waiter ca over with a tray. Maxwell had moved past his initial confusion and tension, casually picked one up, snipped the end, and lit the cigar with a long match to start smoking.
Once the waiter left, he looked at Jimmy and said, "Alright, now we can talk."
Jimmy: "Soone asked to inquire about Senator Pratt's murder case."
Maxwell frowned at Jimmy, the tip of the cigar in his mouth glowing, a puff of smoke escaped from his lips, "Who are you representing?"
Jimmy: "So influential figures, they're paying attention to this case. They've noticed you."
Maxwell: "New York? DC?"
Jimmy: "Both, but for now, primarily New York."
Maxwell: "What do you want to know?"

Maxwell leaned back on the sofa, looking at the young man before him through a thin veil of smoke, Asian, FBI Senior Agent, holding Senator Hagerty's private business card, talking in such a high-end club, all of it indicated that these matters ran deep.
Maxwell wasn't soone rigid or inflexible. He's cooperated a lot with the FBI over the past two years, and their relationship is actually quite okay.
If it weren't for being coerced, he wouldn't be willing to offend the FBI like this, especially since the target, Peter, is a senior Supervisory Special Agent, with rumors about him being promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, aning he would oversee field operations. Soone like that surely has powerful backing.
Maxwell thought for a mont, "I think we should discuss this more later. I have another appointnt to catch today."
Jimmy smiled, took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Maxwell. "Of course, we should definitely talk more. I'll wait for your call."
Maxwell took Jimmy's business card, placed the cigar in the ashtray, picked up his glass, and clinked it with Jimmy's, "Pleasure to et you, Agent Yang."
Jimmy laughed and said, "Please don't be so formal, just call Jimmy. Pleasure to et you, Mr. Maxwell."
The two drank the Bourbon in their glasses, stood up, shook hands to say goodbye, and Jimmy saw Maxwell out of the eting room, returned to his previous seat, and continued smoking his cigar.
