Elijah Reed listened to Maya Spencer’s question and felt awkward; he had promised Liam Spencer not to ntion Lillian Morris going to the company to her.

Although Liam hadn’t said much to Elijah, he had sowhat guessed; but he didn’t dare interfere, afraid of ssing up Liam’s plans.

So, he raised his right hand and scratched his head, helplessly saying, "Miss Maya, I really don’t know what happened. If I knew, I would definitely tell you."

Then he added, "Earlier, I clearly heard your argunt with the BOSS. Actually, the BOSS is thinking of your well-being, that’s why he wants you to think carefully before getting married, so you won’t regret it later."

"Thinking of my well-being, huh? Can’t he see my feelings for him? It’s driving crazy to want to have his child, yet he doubts whether I like him; Liam is just a pig, a damn bastard." Maya’s tone was full of anger and dominance, making Elijah want to laugh but he dared not.

After hearing Maya’s insults, Elijah quickly nodded in agreent: "Yes! Yes! Miss Maya, you’re absolutely right. I have no idea what’s gotten into the BOSS; however, this is easy to fix. Doesn’t he want you to calm down and think about it? Wait about ten days and tell him you’ve thought it over and that you love him, and wouldn’t that solve everything?"

Elijah was leading Maya step by step into a trap. These were the only pieces of information he could give her; he couldn’t say any more.

Maya listened to Elijah’s analysis and shook her head, feeling that things weren’t as simple as Elijah made them seem. Her woman’s intuition told her that Liam was hiding sothing from her.

However, she couldn’t figure out what he might be hiding at the mont. Perhaps Liam had protected her so well these two years that her brain wasn’t functioning properly, and she hadn’t considered Lillian Morris.

In fact, most people wouldn’t think about Lillian Morris; who would imagine two grown n placing a bet on such a thing unless their imagination was out of this world.

After thinking it over, Maya imdiately turned around, stared intently at Elijah, and pressed him: "Elijah, be honest with , has Liam been behaving himself at work recently? Has he been getting close to other won?"

It is in a woman’s nature that when relationship troubles arise, the first thought is that the man doesn’t like her or has had a change of heart.

Even though Maya is a smart woman, she’s still a woman and can’t escape this habitual thinking.

Hearing Maya’s question, Elijah imdiately swore, "Miss Maya, I can swear to you that the BOSS definitely has no other won. You’ve seen that he cos ho on ti every day to be with you. At work, he often takes you along. In S City, everyone knows Liam is Maya’s man; who would dare approach the BOSS?"

"Besides, given the BOSS’s true feelings for you, how could he possibly entertain other won in his eyes? Miss Maya, don’t overthink it. Maybe the BOSS just really wants you to calm down before the marriage and decide if you truly want to marry him."

"No! No! What he said was to break up. If he just wanted to calm down, why would he use the words ’break up’?" Maya clung to his words.

"Miss Maya, I really don’t know. Maybe the BOSS just misspoke. He didn’t ntion anything about the marriage; he didn’t say the engagent was off. Don’t think about it too much. In a few days, tell the BOSS you’ve made up your mind, and everything will be resolved," Elijah advised.

Maya fell into thought with Elijah’s analysis; she no longer pressured Elijah but lowered her head and pondered alone, trying to sort out the issue completely.

Seeing Maya no longer being stubborn, Elijah secretly let out a sigh of relief, thinking to himself that he had finally managed to ease Miss Maya’s worries.

However, in his opinion, Liam’s actions were unnecessary. Given their relationship, is there any need to reconsider the marriage beforehand? Maya would naturally be eager to marry him without hesitation.

Elijah, however, hadn’t considered Liam’s perspective, nor his pride and confidence, and his firm decision to make Lillian Morris give up.

Half an hour later, Elijah dropped Maya off at Jas Bennett’s villa. Before leaving, he looked at the despondent Maya and asked once more, "Miss Maya, are you sure you don’t want to bring Ella over to accompany you?"

"No need, my father is here with ," Maya answered weakly.

In the living room, Jas Bennett was surprised to see Maya being brought back with her luggage. Frowning, he asked, "Maya, what’s going on? Did you and Liam have a fight?"

In Jas’s mory, the two of them never had a row. Every ti he saw them, they were deeply in love.

Hearing Jas’s concern, Maya felt wronged again. She imdiately pouted, with her eyes turning red as she threw herself into Jas’s arms, pitifully saying, "Dad, Liam doesn’t want anymore. He said he wants to break up."

Maya tightly wrapped her small hands around Jas’s neck as if she had suffered a great injustice; indeed, she had suffered a lot of grievances today.

"Maya, what happened? Don’t cry. Tell dad clearly, why doesn’t he want you?" Jas’s heart ached at Maya’s tears.

He gently pushed Maya out of his arms, and with his warm hand, he tenderly wiped away the tears on her face. His eyes were full of heartache, yet he was also very calm. From what he knew about Liam, he wouldn’t give up on Maya, nor would he stop loving Maya.

Listening to Jas’s questioning, Maya sniffled and said, "He said sothing about making think it through, whether I want to marry him, so I won’t regret it after getting married. He’s such a bastard. How much I love him, can’t he see?"

Maya beca even more aggrieved as she spoke. Seeing this, Jas imdiately hugged her again, gently patting her back to console her: "Is that all? That’s not a big deal! He asked us to think about it, so let’s think about it, and tell him once we’ve thought it through. Worst case scenario, even if Liam doesn’t want you, doesn’t Maya still have her father? Your father wants you!"

Jas loved Maya to an extre degree. The way they interacted resembled a brother-sister relationship rather than father-daughter because Jas only spoiled Maya without ever being stern. He looked like he was barely over thirty, extrely young, like Maya’s brother.

"But I love him. I don’t want to be apart from him. If he really dares not want , I won’t let him get away with it."

Maya’s reliance on Liam is beyond others’ comprehension, unable to understand how a woman like Maya, lacking a sense of security, placed all her hopes on a man, along with her absolute trust. She couldn’t bear any betrayal.

Seeing her emotional state, Jas imdiately patted her back, soothing her, "No way, Liam would never leave Maya. Our Maya is beautiful, smart, and adorable; no one can compare. If he doesn’t love you, then who would he love?"

In short, in Jas’s eyes, Maya had no faults. Even if she had faults, those would be her rits.

In fact, in Liam’s eyes as well, all the won in the world combined were not as good as Maya.
