A few days ago, Sophia Bennett hadn’t noticed this issue yet, but today, with a surprised glance, she realized that Maya Spencer really does bear so resemblance to her uncle, especially their eyes and eyebrows.

Maya Spencer listened to Sophia’s words, and her heart suddenly skipped a beat, with her palms starting to sweat.

She had always suspected that Jas Bennett might be her father. When Sophia ntioned this, it seed to confirm her suspicion, and her heart was struck hard.

Jas Bennett looked at Maya’s pale face and guessed that she was extrely resistant to the role of a father; otherwise, her expression wouldn’t be so.

So he imdiately smiled to smooth things over: "Sophia, you’re really good with words. How about Maya acknowledges as a godfather? I’ve never married or had children in my life. To suddenly gain such a grown daughter would indeed be a blessing I’ve cultivated over several lifetis."

Jas emphasized his unmarried and childless status on purpose to prevent Maya from misunderstanding or overthinking.

He didn’t want the revelation of their relationship to co as a storm; he didn’t want Maya to hate him.

Although over the years, he hadn’t fulfilled the responsibilities of a father and had wronged her mother, he was unaware of it.

If he had known earlier that Madelyn Hanson’s child was his, even if Madelyn didn’t want to marry him, he would have tied her to his side.

Reflecting on the past, Jas felt he was too soft-hearted back then and shouldn’t have let Madelyn go. He should have forcefully kept her with him. Had he done so, Madelyn might not have died so soon, and Maya wouldn’t have grown up fatherless.

Despite his deep regret now, he couldn’t undo the past. He couldn’t save Madelyn’s life and had indeed let Maya suffer a lot, but he was willing to make ands and willing to use everything he had to compensate Maya.

Therefore, his most important task now was to manage Maya’s emotions carefully, ensuring she wasn’t impacted and didn’t fall ill.

At the sa ti, he also trusted Liam Spencer, believing the man could manage Maya’s emotions and help her gradually accept the idea of a father figure. So he was waiting for the right mont to confess everything to Maya.

Listening to Jas’s explanations and intentions, Maya forced a smile, yet she didn’t believe his explanations.

However, she didn’t understand why, if Jas Bennett truly was her father, he hadn’t told her and instead kept it from her. Had she guessed wrong? But Sophia had just said that she and Jas Bennett looked alike, especially in the eyebrows.

But she hadn’t noticed it herself. After all, looking at oneself in the mirror never really makes one see resemblances to others.

So she suddenly turned around, looked at Liam, and with a smile, asked, "Third brother, do I look like Brother Bennett?"

Liam, hearing Maya’s question, was first stunned, then pretended to examine the two carefully, and said with a smile, "I don’t see it."

In truth, Maya and Jas Bennett did have a slight resemblance, but Liam feared Maya would overthink, so he told a white lie.

He wasn’t intentionally deceiving Maya; it was just that too many things were happening around them lately, and her emotions were already affected.

The matter involving Seven Murray and Christopher Scott had kept her up the entire night without sleep last night, and he didn’t want to add more complications to her already unstable emotions, so he kept it hidden.

Hearing Liam say they didn’t look alike, Maya imdiately turned to Jas, shrugged helplessly, and said, "Brother Bennett, Third brother says we don’t look alike. It seems there’s still a slight distance in our connection. I’ll continue to call you Brother Bennett!"

Regarding the role of a ’father,’ Maya had already grown up, and she truly didn’t need it anymore.

If Jas Bennett really was her father, she would go crazy. She couldn’t accept this man and would certainly grab him by his collar and question him, asking where he had been all these years? Why hadn’t he co to find her and her mother? Her mother had died, and he never appeared. What was his heart made of?

Maya stared intently at Jas, with her mind flooded with accusatory fantasies against him.

She thought of her childhood when people told her she had no father, thought of crying her heart out beside her mother’s body in the bathtub, and the anger she had buried deep down began to ignite once again.

She couldn’t determine her mother’s reason for suicide, but she was sure that it was this so-called ’father’ who had made their lives unhappy by failing to take up family responsibilities.

In an instant, her heart was filled with resentnt, and she wanted to release her anger instead of bottling it up inside her.

However, as of yet, she had no evidence to confirm that the seemingly upright man before her was indeed the culprit.

When she uncovered the truth, she would demand an explanation, both for herself and for her mother.

Liam saw the anger in Maya’s eyes and realized her emotions had already been affected.

So he imdiately reached out his large hand, rubbed her head, and said with a smile, "Didn’t Maya say before? As long as you have Third brother, that’s enough."

"Yes!" A reluctant smile pulled up on Maya’s lips, and she smiled at Liam.

But inside, she was already feeling unbalanced. The word ’father’ awakened the little demon in her heart, making her attribute all her own and her mother’s misfortunes to him.

Suddenly, she felt a tightness in her chest, with a strong urge to find this irresponsible man and have a massive argunt, venting her dissatisfaction and anger.

But right now, she needed to suppress all her anger and not let Jas Bennett see any flaws, as she was still planning to take sothing for a DNA test.

Lying low and enduring hardships were things Maya was adept at. She had infiltrated the Spencer Family for so long three years ago; staying around Jas Bennett for a while to obtain a strand of his hair was really no difficult task.

Although the task wasn’t inherently difficult, Maya still found it challenging because Jas Bennett kept his house too clean, and she couldn’t find a single strand of hair anywhere, plus entering Jas’s master bedroom was impossible, let alone pulling hair from his head.

Therefore, she had to wait patiently for the right opportunity, a suitable mont to take sothing from his house that could be tested to verify her suspicions.

Sophia Bennett watched Liam’s indulgent affection towards Maya, pouting enviously and said, "If only Christopher Scott could be nice to like that, I wouldn’t need a father either."

"Smack!" No sooner had Sophia finished speaking than she received a light slap on her head.

Imdiately, Jas Bennett, wearing a stern expression, said, "Child, your father must truly owe you from a past life."

"No, no, no! Uncle, you’ve misunderstood . I never ant anything bad about my dad. Of course, I hope my dad is well. I just said it casually. It’s just that Liam is so good to Maya, it makes a bit jealous." Sophia quickly waved her little hand to explain.

"Okay, everyone, stop standing upstairs chatting. Let’s go downstairs and sit! Also, Sophia, if you have nothing to do, learn more from Maya instead of clinging to n all day; isn’t it nice to write?" Jas Bennett admitted defeat with Sophia.
