Christopher Scott very gentlemanly got out of the car and opened the door for Sophia Bennett.

"Thank you!" Sophia courteously thanked him as she got out.

Christopher observed the unhappy smile on the girl’s lips, took a deep breath, and reminded her once more: "Sophia, I’ll say it one last ti, don’t waste your ti on . I have no feelings for you, and that won’t change."

Despite the dilemma, Christopher still disclosed his thoughts truthfully to Sophia. He didn’t want her to waste her ti on him, and he was certain that even if he ever recovered from this emotional turmoil, the person he would spend his life with would definitely not be Sophia. No matter how long she pursued him, he still disliked her.

The fact that he refrained from saying ’dislike’ outright was already giving Sophia enough respect.

Hearing Christopher’s reminder, Sophia raised a helpless smile on her lips and resolutely said, "Christopher, what you want to do is your business; what I want to do is mine. You can reject , but you can’t stop . Goodbye."

Sophia had confessed to people countless tis before, but this was the first ti she was so serious, without any sense of playfulness. After she finished speaking, she turned around and headed toward the villa.

She understood that wanting to be with Christopher would be a long battle, possibly a war with no result.

Even so, she still wanted to try, to persist, knowing that Christopher disliked her; she was not about to give up.

Christopher watched the girl’s determined silhouette, showing no expression nor giving any response, before getting into the passenger seat and instructing the driver to drive away.

He only hoped that the ill-mannered incident from yesterday wouldn’t happen again. He didn’t want any conflicts with Sophia. Liam Spencer was right; after all, she was Chairman Bennett’s niece. Making things ugly benefits no one.

When Sophia returned to the living room, Jas Bennett was sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper.

Upon seeing Sophia’s red, swollen eyes, he imdiately put down the newspaper, stood up from the sofa, grabbed Sophia’s arm, and asked, "Sophia, why are you crying? Who bullied you?"

"Uncle, no one! You’re worrying too much. I attended soone else’s engagent banquet today and felt upset because I haven’t fallen in love myself, so I cried," Sophia feigned light-heartedness, shaking off Jas Bennett’s hand and sitting on the sofa by herself.

"Was it Christopher? You didn’t co back last night; were you really with Maya?" Jas was skeptical of Sophia’s explanation, suspecting that Christopher had caused Sophia grief.

"Uncle, why would I lie to you? Look at my clothes; they’re Maya’s. My dirty clothes are still at their house being washed. I’ll pick them up in a few days, not talking anymore, yesterday was Christmas Eve, played too late, going to catch up on sleep." Sophia chose to avoid suspicion from Jas Bennett, fearing she would inadvertently reveal the truth, so the best tactic was to leave.

Jas watched Sophia’s silhouette as she left, sighing heavily, feeling inexplicably blocked in his chest.

He knew Sophia had encountered sothing distressing, feeling wronged, but since she refused to talk, he was helpless. He sincerely hoped she would regain her focus and stop pursuing random people, just settle down and get married. After all, their judgnt wouldn’t be worse than hers.

In the bedroom, after a shower, Sophia hugged a large pillow and lay on the bed, contemplating.

She recalled Christopher’s kiss just now, and her brows unconsciously relaxed.

She told herself this represented progress between her and Christopher, although the kiss was light, and rely to express gratitude, it was still an improvent from recent interactions. At least he didn’t scold her, wasn’t harsh with her, nor did he throw things at her anymore.

Thinking of this, Sophia took a deep breath, her right fist clenched tightly as she encouraged herself: "Sophia, keep going, this ti you can definitely win Christopher over."

What she didn’t know was that Christopher’s kiss was not progress but rather a farewell gesture, hoping she would stop bothering him.

However, Sophia was an optimist, not thinking about unhappy possibilities. She maintained thoughts that made her happy and believed only in what she wanted to believe.

As her mood gradually lightened, she began to fall asleep.

In her dreams, she envisioned Christopher being won over by her, dreaming they were happy together, just like Liam Spencer and Maya Spencer, sweet and blissful. She dreamt Christopher was kissing her, kissing sincerely and lovingly.

At four-thirty in the afternoon, Liam Spencer and Maya Spencer arrived. Upon entering the living room, Jas Bennett quickly stood up to greet them.

She noticed Jas Bennett’s gaze fixated on her, barely paying attention to Liam.

Maya didn’t believe Jas Bennett was so fond of her rely because of ’destiny’. She was almost certain that Jas had eyes only for her.

As for his previous explanations, Maya didn’t believe them, and her skepticism grew.

Reuniting with Jas Bennett, her suspicions deepened further, increasingly convinced that the deceased girl from that ailnt was her mother.

"Maya, Liam, you’ve arrived! Co sit; it’s really cold outside!" Then, turning to instruct the maid, "Miss Fisher, prepare ginger tea for Maya."

Maya observed Jas Bennett’s nervousness towards her, a faint smile on her lips but suspicion in her eyes.

After chatting for a while in the living room, Jas suddenly suggested, "Maya, I heard you like calligraphy, so I personally made a set of brushes. Let take you to the study to see them."

"Thank you, Brother Bennett!" Maya thanked politely, while wondering, yet another hand-made gift, he truly is kind to her.

Maya increasingly felt Jas Bennett’s kindness toward her wasn’t simple. Nonetheless, she didn’t expose him and followed up the stairs, with Liam accompanying them.

"I studied for a long ti with my master. It’s still not perfect; don’t disdain it." Jas presented the Christmas gift he had prepared, a jade-silk box, lavish and expensive.

If anyone else gifted her sothing, Maya wouldn’t accept, but because it was from Jas Bennett, she took it. She knew everything happens for a reason; Jas wouldn’t treat her differently without reason. By accepting the gift, she intended not to strain her relationship with him further, allowing her to discover why he was so kind to her.

Only by staying close to Jas could Maya obtain evidence from him.

After receiving the calligraphy brushes, as the three exited the study room, Sophia happened to co out from the bedroom.

She stretched lazily, rubbed her eyes, glanced at Jas Bennett and Maya, and nonchalantly remarked, "Maya, how do I feel like you and my uncle are looking more alike. Especially your eyes and eyebrows, they’re practically carved from the sa mold."

Spoiler: Tomorrow, Maya will find evidence revealing Jas Bennett as her father.
