He looked at her for a mont and asked coldly, "If I apologize, will you stop pestering ?"
If Sophia could leave him alone, he was willing to apologize a hundred tis, as long as she would disappear from his sight.
Christopher was having a rough day; the person he wanted to apologize to wouldn’t accept his apology, and the person he didn’t want to apologize to insisted on it relentlessly. Christopher felt like fate was playing a big joke on him.
Sophia looked at Christopher’s disdain for her, and it’s a lie to say it didn’t hurt her feelings.
She took a deep breath, lifted her head, looked into Christopher’s eyes, and said with grievance, "These are two separate things. You damaged my apple, so you should apologize. Whether I continue to pursue you is my own business."
Seeing the girl being unreasonable, Christopher carelessly rolled his eyes at her, lifted his right hand to push her aside, and continued moving forward.
If his apology couldn’t make Sophia give up on him, what was the point? He didn’t want to apologize to her.
"Christopher, don’t go too far. I see that you’re in a bad mood after being rejected by Seven today, so I didn’t argue with you. Don’t push your luck." Sophia was about to explode with anger at Christopher.
Worried about Christopher’s bad mood, she had kindly co to keep him company on this holiday, yet this guy was giving her the cold shoulder. It was Seven who upset him; why take it out on her? Seven couldn’t accept it, but Christopher just didn’t like her, and there was nothing she could do.
When Christopher heard Sophia ntion his rejection by Seven, he flew into a rage, imdiately turned around, grabbed her collar with his large hand, lifted her off the ground, and angrily questioned, "So what? Do you think because I was rejected by Seven, I’ll settle for you?"
"Sophia, I’m telling you, stop dreaming. Even if no one wants , I, Christopher, will not want you."
Listening to Christopher’s harsh words, Sophia’s eyes instantly reddened.
Before, when others rejected her, the excuses were generally incompatible personalities or not liking her.
However, Christopher’s words were so harsh that, even with her thick skin, her self-esteem couldn’t withstand it.
She looked at Christopher’s fierce eyes, stomped her toes on the ground, and pushed him away with her small hands, saying in deep grievance, "Don’t think I’ll always like you. It’s just a brief infatuation; in a few days, even if you beg to like you, I won’t."
"A person like you, who doesn’t appreciate others, deserves to be rejected by Seven."
As Sophia scolded Christopher, she made herself cry.
Her heart hurt. Why spend Christmas Eve with her uncle and parents to co here and get hurt by Christopher? She hated herself for chasing Christopher for 18 days and still not letting go, still wanting to develop it further.
She wanted to give up on Christopher, but when she thought of this, she felt an emptiness in her heart and beca even more upset.
So, she gritted her teeth, telling herself to persist a little longer; maybe she could touch Christopher’s heart. He’s just in a bad mood now because of being rejected by Seven.
Christopher’s body was already numb, having difficulty even walking, his feet not very agile. After being pushed by Sophia, he accidentally lost his balance and stumbled backward a couple of steps before falling to the ground with a bang.
With his hands on the ground, trying to prop himself up, he wanted to continue arguing with Sophia, but his body was too cold and uncontrollable.
Seeing Christopher pushed down by her, Sophia imdiately knelt beside him on one knee, grabbed his arm, and apologized: "Christopher, I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I didn’t an to push you so hard, I’m sorry!"
In fact, Sophia didn’t use much force; it was Christopher’s body being too cold and out of control.
When Sophia caught Christopher’s arm, the back of her hand accidentally touched the back of his hand.
Her hands were already cold, but she found his to be even colder. The icy touch transmitted through her skin, penetrating her bones, colder than a corpse’s body.
Frightened by Christopher’s body temperature, Sophia tightly grabbed his hand, tucked it inside her clothes, pressing it against her own belly to warm him.
When Christopher’s icy hand touched Sophia’s stomach, she felt like she was being frozen solid, her skin prickling with goosebumps.
Before Christopher could react, Sophia imdiately hugged him, patting his back and crying as she pleaded, "Christopher, stop ssing around, will you? If you go on like this, you’ll freeze to death. I’ll take you to the hospital, okay?"
She had just been proud and said she only had a fleeting interest, but when she saw Christopher being pushed down by her, her internal defenses collapsed, clutching Christopher tightly, crying her heart out.
Sophia, at 23 years old, cried this hard for the first ti, and it was for a man who detested her imnsely.
Christopher, feeling Sophia’s warmth and tears, not only found no solace but grew even more irritated with her.
He took a deep, cold breath, abruptly withdrew his large hand from her clothes, and pushed her away, speaking coldly: "I hate you. How long will you keep pestering ? When will your brief infatuation finally fade away?"
Christopher’s voice was colder than ice and snow, piercing Sophia’s heart painfully.
Looking at Christopher’s disdain, Sophia wiped her tears and asked bitterly, "Is she really that great? So great that you see no one else?"
Christopher calmly replied, "Yes, besides Seven, I see no one else."
Clearly, Christopher’s words were ant to anger Sophia. If his feelings for Seven were as he said, they wouldn’t have ended like this. Perhaps it was because losing Seven completely today made him regret and realize his long-standing mistake.
Listening to Christopher’s confession, Sophia swallowed and said with a smile, "If you like her that much, why act like you’re dying? Just go for it! If you can’t win her over, fight for her. Who are you trying to show off to?"
"Look at yourself, even in this pitiful state, is Seven by your side? She’s not. She’s spending Christmas with Ian today."
Sophia couldn’t stand Christopher’s stubbornness, so she intentionally poked at his sore spots to embarrass him, hoping he could move on from Seven’s shadow quickly.
Listening to Sophia’s sarcasm, Christopher indifferently said, "It’s not your place to concern yourself with my affairs."
Looking at the man’s stubbornness, Sophia felt both heartache and anger.
No matter what she said, she couldn’t gain his favor, and she didn’t bother to argue anymore.
Subsequently, she slowly stood up from the ground, wiped her tears, and said, "Fine, I won’t care. After today, I won’t care. If you go to the hospital with , I’ll stop pestering you and won’t chase you anymore, ok?"
