"Liam, your sweet talking is going to be the death of ; I really admire you." Maya tilted her head, lifting her small hand to pinch Liam’s chin, playfully scolding him.

"Whatever Maya wants to hear, I’ll tell you all about it later." Unfazed by the fact that they were in a public place, Liam gently hugged Maya and whispered softly to her.

"Alright! I’m not going to tease you. You focus on your work; I’ll just stay by your side and won’t go anywhere."

Maya worried that if she was left alone, Jas Bennett might start chatting with her again. What would she do then? She couldn’t keep avoiding people; it would seem impolite and petty.

Following behind Liam, Maya’s mind was still filled with thoughts about Jas Bennett, pondering over what he had just said and his background.

When she rembered that Christopher Scott had ntioned Jas was single, Maya furrowed her brow. She couldn’t figure out why such an outstanding man was still unmarried and childless. Moreover, his eccentric personality and unwillingness to interact with others—could it be that he wasn’t lonely?

Today was Maya’s first ti eting Jas Bennett, and her mind was flooded with information about him, almost overwhelming her.

She took a deep breath and smacked her forehead with her right hand, warning herself internally, "Maya, stop thinking about that man. He has nothing to do with your life. He only knows your mom Madelyn, nothing more."

Christopher’s analysis instilled a kind of subconscious bias in Maya; even though she was reluctant to admit it, she couldn’t deny that Jas Bennett indeed showed interest in her.

So, she didn’t think deeper into any other matters.

Liam looked at the girl smacking her forehead, feeling helpless. He quickly turned around, grabbed her right hand, and asked, "Maya, what are you doing? Why are you hitting yourself?"

Maya explained softly, "Liam, I feel so strange today. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve heard too much about Chairman Bennett from you and Christopher. When I saw him for the first ti, I felt a sense of déjà vu, and facing him made a little nervous. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, and now I don’t understand myself."

"But rest assured, Liam, I have no intentions toward Chairman Bennett; I just find him too intriguing."

"Feeling nervous and experiencing a sense of déjà vu are normal reactions due to hearing too much from and Christopher. Also, Chairman Bennett naturally exudes a strong aura, making people feel reverence towards him, which is perfectly normal. No need to worry." Liam gently caressed Maya’s small face, comforting her.

In the past, whenever he heard Maya comnt on other n, Liam would get a little jealous.

However, with Jas Bennett, it was different. Maya had been thinking about him for so long, yet Liam didn’t mind at all.

Maya thought maybe Liam was right; it was just Jas Bennett’s powerful aura affecting her.

Thinking about this, Maya decided not to dwell on it. She continued holding Liam’s big hand, listening quietly as he conversed with others, obediently following behind him.

But when she inadvertently glanced at Jas Bennett, that man was still staring at her.

Maya dared to bet that this man had been watching her all morning, making her increasingly awkward. She couldn’t help but regret coming to the manor, thinking it would have been better to help Ella at Seven’s shop, where she could at least pick out so clothes to wear.

Ti passed quickly; even though Maya was quite bored, noon arrived swiftly, bringing lunchti.

Liam said goodbye to the businessn he was talking to, turned around, lowered his head, looked directly into Maya’s eyes, and asked, "Maya, are you hungry? We should go have lunch."

"Mm! The snacks at the club are good; Liam, help order so later." Maya, who had been accompanying Liam in his business talks and learning to be well-mannered, didn’t steal the spotlight or speak too much. She listened to Liam’s arrangents for everything, even for ordering food, she checked with Liam in advance.

"You little foodie, got it." Liam pinched her chin, looking at Maya’s fair and smooth little face, his smile exceptionally bright.

He liked this sweet, dependent Maya following him around, liked her so much.

"Thank you, Liam." Seeing Liam agree, Maya’s eyes turned into crescent moons, and her under-eye area was adorably scrunched, causing Liam to impulsively plant a kiss on her little face.

"Liam, you’re becoming more shaless, not caring about your image no matter where you are." Maya stood on tiptoe, poking his forehead with her finger to reprimand him.

Nowadays, as long as Maya was in front of Liam, Liam’s eyes couldn’t see anyone else, except Maya, just Maya.

"Maya, what to do, I’m utterly hopeless; not even for a mont can I be away from you." Liam, hearing the girl’s reprimand, spread his arms and hugged her.

"Then I’ll be your little tail, following you 24 hours a day!" Sticking to Liam had beco a habit for Maya, and she enjoyed this habit.

"Little one, let’s go eat." Liam laughed and took her small hand, heading to the club’s restaurant.

As the two arrived at the restaurant, everyone was already seated, with two chairs left for Liam and Maya at the head table.

Apart from Jas Bennett and his company’s acting chairman, there were also Christopher Scott, Xavier Graham, Hudson Moore, and so others at the table.

Maya looked at the position at the head of the table, noticing the empty seat beside Jas Bennett. She took a deep breath and casually walked closer to Xavier Graham’s side, leaving the seat next to Jas Bennett for Liam.

Unexpectedly, Jas Bennett suddenly stood up, pulled out the chair beside him for Maya, and said, "Maya, sit here. I’ve ordered your favorite pastries."

As soon as Jas Bennett’s words fell, Maya was dumbfounded, and everyone else was too, thinking, is Chairman Bennett familiar with Maya? Why would he pull out a chair for her and order food personally?

Diagonally across from Jas Bennett, Christopher Scott watched Jas Bennett’s attentiveness, sighed deeply, furrowed his brows, and stared at Liam, waiting to see how he’d arrange for Maya.

He thought to himself, Liam must believe his suspicions now, right? Jas Bennett indeed has feelings for Maya; otherwise, why would he care for her so openly?

Listening to Jas Bennett’s invitation, Liam turned around and smiled at Maya, saying, "Maya, you sit here."

Maya was in a dilemma; she didn’t want to sit next to Jas Bennett, but she couldn’t refuse, fearing she’d embarrass Jas Bennett and Liam, making everyone think she’s petty, thus causing Liam to lose face.

So, she glanced at Jas Bennett and smiled at him, then turned around to sit beside him.

At the sa ti, Maya felt upset internally, thinking, why didn’t Liam help her out of this awkward situation and instead pushed her into the ’fire pit’? Couldn’t he see she was quite awkward around Jas Bennett?

Christopher Scott watched Liam’s decision and, feeling indifferent, rolled his eyes at Jas Bennett, impatiently slamd his chopsticks on the table, and stared straight at Maya, wondering what exactly this man intended to do.
