"Taking a cab? Maya Spencer, do you have any sense of safety? Your identity is exposed now, aren’t you afraid of kidnapping?"
Maya listened to the man’s threat, raised her small hand, and delivered a firm slap on him, saying, "Don’t try to scare , I grew up being scared."
"Let make it clear, I won’t pay ransom for you." Liam Spencer felt warmth in his heart from the girl’s slap.
He missed her playful affection so much!
"You’re so annoying, why are you always against ? Do I owe you sothing?" Maya glared at the man confidently as her little face turned sour.
"You do!" he said indifferently.
In Liam’s heart, she indeed owed him, not just a child, but also a peaceful heart.
Ever since she left, not a single day out of these thousand days had been peaceful for him.
Until she ca back, his heart was not calm, but at least it was lively and no longer a stagnant pool.
Just as Maya was about to retaliate, Liam looped an arm around her neck, pulled her in front of his car, opened the door, and shoved her in, fastening her seatbelt.
Maya felt the man’s series of actions without resisting, anyway, as long as he sent her back ho it’s fine.
After the man got in the car, looking at her chubby little face, he couldn’t help but reach out and gently pinch her cheek, saying, "Feels nicer and nicer."
"Cheap rascal."
"You like it!"
"I don’t like it!"
As they bantered, the car started moving, and Liam occasionally peeked at a certain soone, no longer bickering with her.
The way they interacted today made him feel very comfortable.
Although Maya still looked like a little hedgehog, she was no longer as sharp as she had been in the past few days.
In fact, Liam had already noticed from the first encounter that Maya now, compared to three years ago, was much calr.
Though she tried very hard to maintain her icy deanor, those sharp edges were obviously feigned.
He guessed that perhaps it was because of the new environnt and new friends that made her more cheerful and happier than before.
He also knew that Maya had two unresolved issues in her heart, one being the reason behind her mother’s suicide, and the other her hatred towards him.
Even after 3 years, he could still feel that she hated him and wanted revenge.
But this ti, the hatred he sensed from her was no longer as piercing as it was 3 years ago; it seed more like a habit.
Just like him, thinking of each other every day, hating each other every day.
That kind of hatred was indescribable, but it had beco an indispensable part of their lives.
When they saw each other, the hatred beca quite apparent but could easily disappear with a smile, temporarily forgotten.
In the car, Liam turned his head, looking at a not-so-sharp Maya, and curved his mouth into a smile, reaching out his right hand to ruffle her hair.
He hoped that one day, they could completely ta each other and no longer harbor grudges.
He believed that aside from hatred, Maya surely had other feelings toward him, but she just hadn’t realized it yet.
After all, the environnt 3 years ago was too complicated for her to think about emotions.
Beside him, Maya felt the man’s tenderness, suddenly feeling awkward, thinking to herself, he must have taken the wrong dicine today to actually be smiling at her.
Haha! Looks like he realized last night’s misunderstanding and is feeling guilty!
So, she haughtily ordered, "Take ho."
The man looked at Maya’s smug deanor, turned around, and gazed at her for a full ten seconds, saying, "Hmm! There’s still sothing I owe you, might as well settle it."
"Liam Spencer, can’t you have a bit of dignity? You’ve slept more than N tis longer than you’ve driven, how can you propose such an unequal deal, can you be any more shaless?" Maya shouted at the ntion of settling accounts, outraged.
Thinking, can he be any more shaless?
Speechless in the face of Liam’s shalessness, Maya couldn’t find words to describe it.
"Pfft!" Liam couldn’t help but chuckle hearing the girl’s reprimand.
After laughing, he said, "You’re complinting ."
At that mont, Maya realized that while calling him shaless, she seed to be praising him.
So, she swallowed her saliva and said earnestly, "You wish."
"If you think it’s unfair, I could let you sleep back." He continued his shalessness.
"..." Maya was completely defeated, wondering how this person was becoming increasingly shaless.
The man looked at her puffed-up face, stretched out his right arm, and wrapped it around her neck,
This ti, Maya refused, tightly pursing her lips, refusing to let him succeed.
Finally, Liam pinched her chin, seriously saying, "Maya, I promise to keep the Hanson Clan Group."
"Ha! Truly absurd!" Maya sneered after swallowing, pretending not to understand what he was talking about.
"Do you think I wouldn’t know what Aron Hanson wants to do? Everyone wants to prevent the Owen Clan Group from becoming dominant, but it’s an inevitable trend, so the upcoming war, you should be able to predict too." Liam casually analyzed.
Maya pretended not to understand his analysis.
Besides, she didn’t understand work-related matters at all; her uncle had said that girls should enjoy themselves and didn’t need to fight in the business world.
So she studied Life Science, which had nothing to do with business.
She only knew a little about what Liam ntioned; Aron Hanson, besides cooperating with the Spencer Family, indeed wanted to curb the growth of the Owen Clan Group, but she didn’t know the details.
The only thing she knew was that whatever her uncle did was for the good of the Hanson Clan Group, and no one could deny his dedication to the Hanson Clan.
Liam looked at the girl’s bewildered expression, pinched her slightly chubby cheeks, and said, "Stay by my side obediently, and there will be benefits."
Maya understood the implication in the man’s words; he was just greedy for her body.
But she couldn’t deny that he was right; staying by his side, whether for the Hanson Clan or her little grievances, had its benefits.
So she pouted and complained, "Now I’m being pressured into this situation by Grandpa, can I escape? If we announce the engagent is fake, everyone will say the Hanson Family is just creating hype."
"Your grandpa’s announcent is his business, how we handle it is our own." Obviously, he was telling Maya he had no intention of marrying her.
"Just drag it out! Over ti, the feelings will fade, and breaking up wouldn’t be surprising." Maya proposed a solution based on his implication.
Liam listened to her suggestion, his face expressionless, not responding, as if her proposal was just nonsense.
Beside him, Maya took a deep breath, thinking she’d managed to bluff her way through, planning to announce a breakup later to avoid affecting her uncle.
Twenty minutes later, Liam drove into Maya’s villa.
