Hannah was still wearing the complicated deep blue dress with pearl embellishnts and intricate embroidery, draped over with a shawl of the sa color sche. From a distance, she looked like a srizing blue flower swaying in the tranquil forest.

Proud and mysterious, exquisitely beautiful.

George River imdiately averted his gaze, "Talk?"

Hannah glanced at him, the smile not reaching her eyes, "I’ve said all there is to say, but I didn’t expect Director River to persist like a lingering ghost."

She unabashedly ridiculed the man before her.

George River was not annoyed, showing an unusual amount of patience, "The director of ’The Palace Wall’ has always thought highly of you. Do you want to know who took your role from you?"

Hannah turned her head to look at him and smiled, "Tiffany Lynch?"

George River shook his head, "She doesn’t have that much clout. There’s soone behind her with no small amount of power."

The assistant felt as if he had stumbled upon so great secret, carrying his bags and parcels, wishing he could hide his own head.

In this day and age, even being a backdrop isn’t an easy role to play.

Hannah knew who George River was hinting at, but she didn’t point it out, only smiling, "The terms?"

George River fixed his gaze on Hannah’s face, "Let’s talk alone."

*

The assistant now didn’t want to leave; with a lone man and woman together, who knew what might happen.

Even if nothing happened, the re rumors would be enough to severely impact Hannah’s career in the spotlight.

Looking at the troubled assistant, Hannah patted his shoulder, "Go on out."

The assistant widened his eyes, "Sis!"

Hannah: "Wait by the door, and if you hear anything, call for help before you call the police."

The assistant was stunned.

George River, on the other hand, smiled, "It seems you really don’t trust ."

Hannah glanced at him, "Aren’t you planning to take advantage of ?"

George River paused, finding no way to retort, and could only nod, "Indeed."

Watching Hannah’s slightly spoiled deanor, he shook his head helplessly, a tenderness in his eyes that had never been there before, which when combined with his handso face, indeed made it easy for won to be moved.

As the assistant left, he was almost in tears, "Sis, make sure you co out quickly, or Manager Stewart really will kill soone."

Hannah consoled him softly, "Be good, when I get back, I’ll have Jack Stewart add chicken legs to your lunch."

The assistant stamped his foot, "Sis, is this a matter of chicken legs?"

Hannah, "Then a raise it is."

The door closed.

The room didn’t go completely silent; the sound of the wind and rain outside was loud, as if it were on the verge of breaking through the windows at any mont.

George River sat on the couch, his back straight and leaning slightly forward, as he poured two cups of tea.

The tea was still steaming, the room quiet and warm.

He looked up at the person standing by the door, the tight dress outlining her slender figure, poised in a way that set hearts afla, "Aren’t you going to co sit down?"

Leaning against the wall, Hannah rested one hand on her waist, her gaze sliding from the man’s eyes down to his neck, and laughed lightly, "No thanks, I’m afraid you won’t be able to control yourself if I get any closer."

George River’s throat tightened, and his hand holding the teacup trembled uncontrollably for a mont, causing a few drops of tea to splash onto the back of his hand.

The scalding heat was nothing compared to the intensity of his heartbeat.

Good upbringing didn’t lead the man to any improper behavior, but the look in his eyes darkened for an instant, as he casually ntioned, "You’ve indeed changed a lot since the past."

Hannah gave him a sidelong look, her smile ambiguous, "Soone said that a woman is most charming when she doesn’t love you. Director River, do you think this saying is true or false?"
