She laughingly added, "But now that you’ve asked, it makes want to go."
Jackie Qualls fell silent, his gaze fixed on the smiling woman before him. He wanted to say sothing, but in presence of others, he refrained.
The staffer nearby craved to disappear into a hole in the ground.
She had realized it. She was the third wheel.
In the end, Hannah went with the staffer.
She ntioned to George Quach that the town’s hospital wasn’t far. She’d be able to make it back before tomorrow if she left and returned.

By the ti all tasks were taken care of, it was nearly ten at night.
The sleepy little town wasn’t exactly bustling at night. As soon as it was ti, each household shut its doors to rest. The hospital seed even quieter in contrast.
Louis Snyder’s injury wasn’t particularly serious. After his wound was stitched, he could leave that very night.
Following a discussion with the accompanying staffer and doctor, she left to manage the post-procedure paynts. Hannah and Louis Snyder were left behind in the room to wait.
The already stitched and bandaged wound was still seeping so blood soaking the white gauze. It still looked rather terrible.
Hannah averted her gaze, her voice steady, "Can you give a reason?"
The young man sat on the hospital bed, his black hair ssy, his eyes heavy, but his voice was incredibly gentle, "Because I want Sister to only look at ."
He lifted his head, gazing steadily at the person opposite him. His eyes were strikingly beautiful, pure like a star-studded night sky.
But beneath the surface swirled hard-to-fathom emotions.
The young man looked a bit troubled, but his voice was especially soft, "Sister, if I had known Jackie Qualls was this annoying, I would’ve spiked his food."
After saying this, he laughed at himself. There was no fabrication in his words, but rather a hint of regret.
That man, using the guise of acting, coveted Hannah’s attention so shalessly, it was truly insufferable.
Hannah raised an eyebrow, catching sight of the piercingly cold look beneath the young man’s pretense. It was harmless and tender on the surface, yet deeply nacing underneath.
She said calmly, "Jackie Qualls is no Owen Hanson. If you ss with him, his fans won’t let you off."
"So Sister already knew." Louis Snyder lowered his gaze, his eyelashes trembling slightly, looking pitiable. After a long silence, he spoke again, "So Sister believes that I can’t rival him?"
Hannah looked at him and smiled, saying nothing.
Disappointnt flooded Louis Snyder. His previously vibrant lips were pale due to weakness. His injured hand throbbed with pain at the slightest movent. He stifled a groan and said, "At least I’m younger than him."
The boy looked like a young wild beast backed into a corner, baring two icily sharp fangs, his eyes burning red, his face was etched with obstinacy.
In front of Hannah, there was not a hint of his previous arrogant confidence.
She crossed her arms and leaned against the icy wall, laughed and sighed, "Youth is good."
Louis Snyder’s eyes lit up, "Sister, one day, I’ll be better than him. When that ti cos, will you act with ?"
He reached out with his uninjured hand and gently tugged at Hannah’s clothing. His eyes were clear, filled with cautious adoration and exploratory hope. It was like a newborn animal relying on the first human it saw.
Hannah t his gaze, bent over, and lightly tapped his chin with her finger. The hint of sensual laziness in her eyes seed to have a bewitching charm. "If one day you could outshine Jackie Qualls, there might indeed be a chance."
