"Uncle Landon is amazing, you co to our place, I assure you won’t go hungry,"
Phoebe Sherton looked at Owen Hanson, then at the kid with the pineapple hairstyle, choked back a sob and said, "Really?"
The kid with the pineapple hairstyle pounded his chest, "Yes, for real! Matthew Quach and his sister are coming over for supper too. You should join us, it’ll be more lively."
Phoebe, initially hesitant, quickly agreed when she heard Hannah would be going. She turned to Owen Hanson and asked, "Uncle, can I go to pineapple head’s house for dinner tonight?"
"Of course, you can." Owen Hanson quickly nodded, "I’ll take you there later. Also, Phoebe, you can just call big brother. Calling uncle makes feel old."
His slightly aggrieved deanor, coupled with a smile that was feigned to be kind, and a face that looked handso with makeup on, seed to barely justify the new nickna.
Phoebe hesitated, bit her finger and finally said, "Ok, big brother."
Owen Hanson cheerfully patted Phoebe’s head.
However, Pineapple Head spoke all of a sudden, "But Uncle Owen, you’re only a year younger than Uncle Landon. Why do we call you big brother?"
Owen Hanson was stunned, then explained, "Calling uncle makes seem old."
Pineapple Head was perplexed, "But Uncle Landon has never corrected . He doesn’t mind being called old."
Owen Hanson was slowly becoming irritated, grinding his teeth and forcing a smile, "Fine, call whatever you want."
Pineapple Head seed satisfied, "That’s the spirit! A real man shouldn’t worry about looking old or ugly. It’s rather embarrassing."
Owen Hanson was getting impatient and could only manage to turn to Phoebe and say, "Tonight, your bro....Er.." He swallowed the word, "Uncle will accompany you to Pineapple Head’s house for dinner, ok?"
Phoebe was about to nod, when Pineapple Head intervened.
Owen Hanson took a deep breath, wondering what the chubby kid had to say this ti.
Pineapple Head positioned himself in front of Phoebe, objected decisively, "No way, neither Uncle Owen nor Auntie Hilary can co."
Being referred to as ’auntie’, Hilary Quin’s smile imdiately fell apart. She looked coldly at Pineapple Head, her gaze sowhat chilly. But as soon as the cara panned towards her, she instantly conjured up a sweet smile again.
She even voluntarily asked why.
Pineapple Head seed troubled, then resolved. "Because I just saw you both secretly exchanging herbs on the mountain. You’re cheating, trying to take Hannah’s first place."
The atmosphere turned incredibly awkward.
Even though it’s said that children speak without inhibitions, neither Hilary Quin nor Owen Hanson could bla the child, especially since he was speaking the truth.
Apparently, Owen Hanson wasn’t experienced enough, standing there unsure what to do, all the while looking at Hilary Quin, as if afraid others wouldn’t know they were an item.
Hilary Quin ntally cursed Owen Hanson, but maintained a smile on her face. Half-jokingly she said, "How sharp-tongued kids are these days. I wonder who taught him."
Having said that, she looked at Hannah, implying sothing.
Pineapple Head frowned, swung his clenched fist in the air. "I didn’t lie!"
Hannah gently stroked Pineapple Head’s head, her voice calm and casual, "Kids are innocent, they just say whatever they see. It’s nothing strange. Hilary, don’t you think you’re being a bit harsh calling him sharp-tongued?"
Hilary Quin, unable to respond, could only push her niece to the front as her shield.
If it had been before, the little girl wouldn’t have hesitated to defend her aunt, but now all she wanted was to play with Matthew Quach, so she didn’t risk offending anyone else.
