Twenty minutes.

Every second was torture for him as he waited downstairs.

He rushed over imdiately after receiving the ssage, even though his wounds hadn’t fully healed yet.

He just wanted to see her.

Instead, he discovered she was on a date with another man.

Hannah glared at him, her red lips opening and closing for a while. Then she looked down and deeply sighed, tears welling up, "He said you were dead."

Arnold was taken aback.

Not because of the girl’s words, but because he had seen her tears.

She cried as if the sky was falling.

"Did you believe him?" His heart went soft in the end, and he took her into his arms, using a handkerchief to wipe the tears falling down her cheeks.

Falling drop by drop, it seed as if they could never be completely wiped away.

Before long, her cheeks were red from the rubbing.

They were too delicate.

Hannah clutched at his sleeve and stubbornly avoided his hand, "He said you were dead and then tried to steal your girl."

Upon hearing this, Arnold’s eyebrows twitched.

He hadn’t expected George to be so audacious.

He held the handkerchief, feeling its warm wetness, and softened his tone, "Anything else?"

Hannah stared at him, choking with emotion for a while before finally speaking.

Arnold sighed internally.

In the end, he had lost to her.

"I was wrong, I shouldn’t have doubted you."

In reality, he hadn’t doubted her at all, he just wanted to tease her.

He was simply opposed to her eting George alone.

He was afraid she’d get hurt.

Once Arnold admitted his mistake, Hannah stopped crying. With red-rimd eyes, she threw herself into his arms, "They thought you were dead and seed to relish bullying ..."

She started explaining, going into every minute detail.

Crying while she spoke.

It wasn’t a bout of sobbing, but tears suspended in her eyes, like dew drops on flower petals, threatening to fall. She looked fragile and pitiful.

Arnold listened quietly, his large hand gently patting her back in a comforting manner, using the handkerchief to delicately wipe the tears from her face.

Before she could finish, he had already decided what to do.

Those people were overly daring. The news of his so-called "death" had only just spread back ho, yet in a single night, they had made such a big fuss.

Their actions were even faster than those stubborn old n of the Simmons Clan.

Up until now, no one knew that Arnold was alive. Everyone took it for granted that the once ruthless head of the Simmons Family had died on that plane.

Arnold had intended to deal with those people before eting his sweet girl, yet he couldn’t sit still.

He just couldn’t resist wanting to see her.

Like the roots of a plant in his heart, which keep growing back every ti he trims them.

Looking down at the woman sleeping in his arms, Arnold gently kissed her hair, his gaze fixed only on her.

As though letting out a light sigh, he said, "I knew it was you."

Hannah had a wonderful sleep, not knowing that outside, Arnold had already instructed his n to take action.

Beginning at the most basic level, he ordered a thorough investigation. Regardless of how many people or how much power were involved, all he cared about was the final result.

There was no reason for the one he was protecting to be bullied like this.

He knew how competitive his sweet girl was, and how upset she must be having had sothing that belonged to her stolen.

After a long sleep, Hannah sleepily opened her eyes and saw the man standing on the balcony with his back to her.

He seed to be on the phone.

His cold tone carried an aura of command, showing no emotion, and occasionally carried into the room on the night breeze.
