"Why should it be you? It should be . I joined Miss Winter’s fan club earlier than all of you!"

The n began to argue chaotically.

Hannah swept her gaze over the crowd, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle, and had no intention of stopping it.

May Hoffman couldn’t help but speak up, "Aren’t you afraid they’ll start fighting?"

Hannah glanced at her, her voice laced with nonchalance, "They’re all no-good. If they injure or cripple each other, it’s their own karma. A way of settling their debts."

May had nothing else to say and resud what she had been doing before.

This ti, Hannah didn’t reject her.

She took the wine glass and was about to take a sip, but abruptly halted her action.

May’s emotions felt like a rollercoaster, skyrocketing back to peak intensity.

Hannah slightly furrowed her brows, the dark shadows casting in her eyes revealing a soft smile, "Surely, you haven’t drugged the wine?"

May avoided her gaze, "You’ve been reading too many novels."

"Very true." Hannah nodded, her gaze landing on the wine glass, "If this was a novel, you would be about to et your doom as a minor character."

Her voice was soothing, accompanied by a soft smile.

She seed to be muttering to herself.

May was flustered, "If you’re suspicious, you don’t have to drink it."

Hannah glanced at her, an ambiguous smile on her face, "Drink it? Of course, I will."

*

The hotel room.

The room was reserved ahead of ti, with the lights dimd to the faintest setting, vaguely revealing a slender figure on the bed.

The face couldn’t be seen clearly.

President King tiptoed and shut the room door, locking it from inside.

Rubbing his hands together, he moved toward the bed, his eyes riveted on that patch of fair skin, swallowing hard.

In his mind, he thought May did a firm job. She got the girl here for him.

He had a soft spot for Hannah Winter for a long while now. Seeing her flashing smiles at those rich second-generation kids earlier, he thought she must be flirtatious.

If that’s the case, he couldn’t be blad.

In the room, a woman’s soft moan was heard.

Then...

An indescribable noise.

Feeling awkward, Oliver Taylor turned off the sound on the video and looked over at the balcony.

A slender figure stood there, draped in a pure white coat. Her delicate wrist rested on the railing of the balcony, holding a slim ladies’ cigarette. Smoky tendrils swept into the night breeze, swirling around mysteriously.

She looked over, her eyes alluring, "Is it done?"

Strangely enough.

Oliver actually saw a shadow of Arnold Simmons in Hannah. Respectfully, he said, "May and this Edward King hooked up before the start of the show. Edward King’s wife has been at ho taking care of the child and knows nothing about this. The woman today drugged your wine, probably wanting to..."

He didn’t dare complete his sentence.

But it was clear that May wanted to please Edward King by sending Hannah to his bed.

Such transactions are not uncommon in their circle, but they usually involve mutual consent. May’s actions clearly violated the law.

A cigarette burned at her fingertips, twinkling like a star in the sky.

Hannah looked up at the moon hanging in the night sky. The moonlight reflected in her eyes like the shadows of the deep sea. Her voice, cool as moonlight, asked, "Did you notify Edward King’s wife?"

Oliver nodded, "Yes, she’s been notified and is probably on her way. Edward King built his fortune with his wife’s help. This ti, it’s likely to end in divorce."

"Not necessarily." Her fingers flicked, dropping a bit of ash. The mist surrounded the allure in her eyes.
