He sighed, "What a pity."

Old Sir River’s tone carried so regret.

The old butler’s thoughts also dispersed, recalling that period in the past.

When George River was still studying, he and Jimmy Simmons had already beco good brothers, often coming and going together, thus he, the old butler, was also familiar with Jimmy Simmons.

He was a spoiled and indulged teenager.

Arnold Simmons’s first appearance in the River family was brought along by George River and Arnold Simmons himself.

He was wearing a tattered T-shirt, the hem of his jeans whitened from excessive washing, his hair ssy, and an uncoagulated trail of blood running from his forehead down his cheeks, to his chin, finally dripping onto the floor.

The person as a whole looked ragged and miserable.

He didn’t seem at all like a child of the Simmons family.

Out of respect for guests, the old housekeeper wanted to take him downstairs for so care, but was stopped by Jimmy Simmons.

A teenager around 16 to 17, most rebellious, had his hair shaved, looking arrogantly at his "Uncle", taunted: "hey, bastard, didn’t you see that you’ve dirtied the floor of the River’s house? kneel down and lick it clean for !"

The teenager was frighteningly thin, and his complexion even carried an unhealthy pallor. He kept his head bowed and remained silent, as if he had not heard the taunts from the teenager in front of him.

Jimmy Simmons got angry, glanced at George River beside him, both their eyes eting, carried a teenage insolence.

They moved forward, forcing Arnold Simmons to kneel down, their elbows heavily hitting his head, their feet ruthlessly kicking the young man’s legs, showing no rcy.

The half healed wound tore open again, the warm blood blurred the teenager’s deep and ominous eyes, they seed like a demon crawling out from hell, engulfing him with a terrifying aura.

Those eyes, devoid of any warmth, were like a dead man’s.

Looking into those eyes, Jimmy Simmons shuddered, his hands relaxed and the teenager broke free.

Seeing him trying to escape, George River imdiately picked up a chair from the side and threw it over.

It hit him square in the back.

With a loud thud.

The teenager was thrown onto the floor in a disgraceful heap.

Rembering how he was just intimidated by Arnold Simmons’s glance, Jimmy Simmons felt his anger boiling over. He picked up a wine bottle from the table and smashed it towards Arnold Simmons’s head, who was struggling on the floor.

Crash—

The glass shattered, filling the entire living room with a strong sll of alcohol.

The sll was intoxicating but mixed with the nauseating tang of blood.

The River family’s servants did not dare to speak out, they all hid away.

But George River and Jimmy Simmons didn’t care, instead, they were laughing in the corner, as if they had done sothing worth being proud of.

No longer rembering how many tis he had been beaten, the laughter ringing in his ears was piercingly painful.

Arnold Simmons was lying on the cold floor face up, with only a blurry red scene in front of him. The madness and violence deep in his eyes were suppressed by him.

He knew, it wasn’t the right ti yet.

Jimmy Simmons stepped on the teenager’s face, he was just about to start his barrage of insults, when Old Sir River ca in.

The old butler had sensed that sothing was not right, and fearing there might be an incident, he had gone to call Old Sir River for help.

Upon seeing the ss in the room and the young man lying in a pool of blood, Old Sir River’s face remained calm, instructing with only one sentence, "Bring him downstairs and treat his wounds."

It wasn’t because he wanted to save sobody, or to help soone, only because it wouldn’t look good for a mber of the Simmons family to die in the River household.

The old housekeeper called two servants to help the young man up.

George River and Jimmy Simmons looked at each other, not in a hurry, just feeling a bit disappointed.

The teenager, covered in wounds, struggled on his own to get up from the floor, pushing away the servants around him, and staggered out.
