He thought he must have heard wrong, but when he pushed open the window and reached out to catch the rain, he found it really was small hail.
This was the first ti he had seen this kind of weather.
The last ti it snowed here was a few years ago, and it was only visible from the mountaintop.
During cold weather, the days are very short. Around seven or eight o’clock, the sky is still gloomy, and the news broadcasts continue to remind people to bring umbrellas when going out.
Although it’s just small hail, it would be a bit painful if it hit soone.
Mother Edwards told Hayes Edwards not to go out and play today.
The temperature is too low; they say there are icicles on the rooftop.
More than half of the winter vacation had passed. Hayes sat at his desk, opened his winter vacation howork, and aside from his na and class on the cover, he hadn’t written anything else.
"There’s still over a week before school starts; how about just cramming in the last five days?"
Thinking of this, Hayes put down the pen in his hand again.
At ten in the morning, there was a commotion from next door.
Hayes was still playing his ga when he heard his mom shouting, "Grace is back!"
He imdiately put down the ga in his hand, sat up straight, and listened attentively to the noises outside the door.
After waiting for a while without seeing Grace Winter co in, Hayes couldn’t resist and walked to the room door, peering out to catch a glimpse.
Having just returned from outside, Grace Winter was still wearing a thick outerwear, with a fluffy white fur lining on the hood that made her face seem even smaller, and her eyes were black and round like grapes.
Having not seen her for more than half a month, she seed to have beco even cuter.
Hayes thought about this, not even noticing when Grace Winter walked up to him.
"Hayes Edwards?" Grace Winter waved her hand in front of his face.
She was wearing pink gloves that also had a circle of white fuzz.
Hayes was startled and, trying to act calm, asked, "When did you co over?"
"Just now." She raised her head, her cheeks a bit red from the cold, "I ca over because I saw you kept looking at ."
Hayes almost choked, "Who said I was looking at you? I was looking at..."
Looking at what?
Seems like there was nothing else worth looking at.
"Anyway, I wasn’t looking at you." He said defensively.
Grace Winter lowered her eyes, clasping her hands together, "Alright."
Did she seem a bit upset?
Should I try to cheer her up?
Hayes was distressed, scratching his head, awkwardly starting, "Well, um, I..."
Grace Winter looked up at him again, her eyes were clean and shining, as if they could see the light.
Hayes seed to give up resisting, "I bought fireworks, want to set them off together?"
Grace Winter imdiately blood into a smile, "Sure!"
With only three days of winter vacation left, it was ti for the Lantern Festival.
Little Fatty and the others were back too, and everyone planned to et downstairs to set off fireworks together in the evening.
Everyone had a bag.
Hayes Edwards’ bag was the biggest, and Grace Winter kept watching. When Hayes Edwards took out the contents, she miraculously found that every firework in the bag was her favorite.
"Hayes Edwards, did you buy these fireworks for ?"
Hayes snorted, "Of course not."
"Alright." Grace Winter held two fireworks, secretly smiling.
As night fell, lanterns hung on tree branches, the gentle light reflecting on the trees and illuminating the children’s smiling faces.
After the Lantern Festival, Hayes Edwards went into a frenzy completing his howork.
