Evelyn Winter stood at the kindergarten gate, her clothes disheveled, leaves and dry grass tangled in her hair, as the teacher used wet wipes to clean her face.

She still looked sulky, as though she were holding a grudge against soone.

Arnold Simmons had been to the kindergarten before, so the teacher naturally recognized him and briefly explained what had happened.

After the incident where Evelyn Winter held a wedding for herself and made the entire class cry, she’d now added another bizarre feat to her record: arguing with a dog.

Thankfully, it was through a fence, so neither party was injured.

After explaining the situation, the teacher handed Evelyn over to Arnold.

Today, she got to leave early again.

"Arguing with a dog?" Arnold stared down at her round head and ssy hair. "Evelyn Winter, what were you thinking?"

Evelyn tugged at her backpack straps, blowing at the loose strands of hair on her forehead, her tone ice-cold. "You wouldn’t understand."

"If you don’t tell , how do you know I wouldn’t understand?"

Arnold pulled her into the back seat of the car before hopping into the driver’s seat himself.

This ti, he’d co alone.

"Where’s Hannah?" Evelyn clutched her backpack, looking around.

Arnold fastened her seatbelt. "She had sothing to do. And also, call her ’Sister.’"

Evelyn ignored him completely.

Arnold returned to the previous topic. "Tell , how did you end up arguing with a dog?"

Evelyn let out a huff, slumping into the seat. "It insulted ."

"What did it say?" Arnold started the car, neither questioning nor refuting her words, simply asking naturally.

This nonchalant attitude actually helped Evelyn relax quite a bit and made her want to chat with Arnold.

At least it was better than being stared at with incomprehension.

Here’s what happened.

As the "kindergarten heartthrob," little Evelyn was quite popular in school. The boys liked playing with her, the girls adored her, and whenever they played "house," they’d enthusiastically invite her to be the "dad."

Would soone as sophisticated as Evelyn agree to play such childish gas?

Of course—she would!

"From today onward, I’ll be everyone’s ’dad.’" Little Evelyn stood atop the highest point of the slide, declaring to the children below.

The kids all gave her a round of applause.

Perhaps the last "wedding" escapade had left them enamored of Evelyn’s unique charm.

And since she was the "dad" now, she naturally had to take responsibility.

The first step was to find a "ho."

The kindergarten wasn’t especially big when it ca to play areas; you could pretty much see everything in one glance. This setup also made supervision easier.

But for so unknown reason, Evelyn managed to discover a "secret base."

The secret base was fairly secluded, hidden behind a patch of bushes. The only downside was a large yellow dog tied to a tree just beyond the fence.

It was a beautiful day. The yellow dog had been lazing around, napping peacefully. Even when it heard noises, it only lazily lifted its eyelids, looking completely uninterested.

That was, until it saw Evelyn.

Perhaps it had once been one of her kind. In that fleeting mont, Evelyn’s identity was laid bare.

And then, the human and the dog started a shouting match through the fence.

"It made fun of my clothes and laughed at how my barking was full of grammatical errors," Evelyn grumbled angrily.

Arnold: "...And did you talk back to it?"
