It’s like no matter how hard you try, you can’t reach it.

Nick Cooper felt a deep sense of powerlessness.

The final ball swished through the hoop, accompanied by thunderous cheers from the sidelines. Arnold Simmons walked up to Nick Cooper, his black hair a little disheveled, his tone indifferent, "You lost."

Nick clenched his fists. No matter how unwilling he was, he could only watch Arnold Simmons leave with Hannah.

...

Near graduation, the dorm was mostly empty, and naturally Hannah moved out as well.

Arnold Simmons finally got his wish and brought his girl back to his place.

Whenever they had ti, they would still return to Haicheng and stay for a while.

When they went back, it happened to be the 80th anniversary of High School One’s founding. The school gates were open, welcoming every graduate to visit the alma mater.

Hannah and Arnold Simmons went back as well and were even temporarily invited to speak onstage as outstanding alumni representatives.

Oscar Evans, who had once regarded Hannah as his most promising student, of course recognized her and couldn’t stop praising her achievents now, radiating a sense of pride in cultivating such talent.

Oscar Evans also rembered Arnold Simmons.

But he was still shocked about Hannah and Arnold being together.

After all, back in Class Two, Hannah and Arnold were like two extres.

One was the well-behaved, diligent top student; the other was the rebellious, often-absent bottom of the class.

Perhaps... this is what fate looks like.

On campus, they ran into many forr classmates. Tessa Thompson arrived a bit late, but as soon as she saw Hannah, she rushed over and hugged her tightly.

"My Hannah! I haven’t seen you in so long—how did you manage to get even prettier?"

In the past few years of university, Tessa had changed quite a bit, but the one thing that hadn’t changed was her sunny disposition. Whenever she got excited, she chattered nonstop like a sparrow.

The two of them walked hand in hand around the school, as if they had traveled back to their high school days.

As they approached the cafeteria, Tessa suddenly rembered, "I’ve been missing those third-floor roasted chicken wings for so long. Ever since college, I haven’t had anything as delicious!"

Hannah suggested, "Why don’t we go up and check it out?"

Tessa nodded imdiately.

The third-floor roasted chicken wings had always been limited in supply—first co, first served. After all these years, who knew if they were still the sa as before?

Hannah and Tessa made their way straight to the third floor as soon as they entered the cafeteria.

The third floor remained unchanged: the blue dining tables, their arrangent, hardly moved over the years. There weren’t many people around either—most visitors were watching the performances at this hour.

Tessa spotted the roasted chicken wings in the window almost imdiately.

They bought two servings—the taste was just like they rembered.

Tessa was so moved she nearly cried, "This flavor! I could eat ten more!"

It was only then that they realized how quickly ti had flown. What was once unforgettable seed now blurred; fragnted images flashed by, and the joy of those monts felt like a veil lightly draped over their hearts.

They didn’t recall the reasons. They only thought—those days must have been happy ones.

After bidding farewell to old classmates, Arnold Simmons took Hannah to the northern district of the city.

This ti, the northern district had undergone even greater changes compared to their previous visit.

What had once been seen as a dirty and chaotic area of small hos had been rebuilt into a villa neighborhood, complete with parks and artificial lakes. Standing at a slightly higher vantage point, one could see the river in the distance.

Neon lights adorned the bridge; the starlight above seed to fall to earth, glittering gently across the human world.

Night had grown deep. Hannah leaned against the car seat, starting to feel sleepy.

The car entered a newly constructed road, and Arnold Simmons eased up on the acceleration.
