Seeing her enjoying herself, Arnold Simmons stood by and handed her new fireworks.

"This one needs to be placed on the ground, the seller called it ’Ground pearls’."

She seed to be playing with these for the first ti, even more delighted than a child.

Following her directions, Arnold Simmons placed the fireworks in a slightly elevated position, then turned to ask her, "Do you want to light it yourself, or shall I?"

Hannah ran over, squatted next to Arnold Simmons, and barely made out the fuse of the fireworks in the light of the fireworks outside the courtyard.

It seed a bit too short.

Hannah thought for a mont, then handed the lighter back to him, "You do it."

Arnold Simmons chuckled, accepting the lighter, "Alright, I’ll do it, you stand back."

She imdiately stood up and ran to find the best spot to watch, then said, "Arnold Simmons, I’m ready, you can light it now."

The mont the fireworks were ignited, a huge silver bouquet also exploded against the night sky in the distance.

At the sa ti, the ground fireworks were blossoming too.

It truly seed like a plateful of pearls had been knocked over; ’Ground pearls’ rolling in silver light, bright beams dyeing in different hues, continuously rising upward.

Arnold Simmons looked down at the little girl beside him, who was softly exclaiming in awe. She was looking up at the fireworks, her eyes brimming with brilliant starlight.

Those were the fireworks in the sky, but she was the fireworks in his heart.

His world was desolate, and she had pulled him into the clamor of this human world.

"Arnold Simmons, our class group said there’s a fireworks show in the city center tonight, shall we go watch it?"

She tugged at his clothes, looking up at him, her voice soft and excited, like a little butterfly flapping its wings.

Which would never wilt.

Arnold Simmons agreed.

He turned back to the room to get a scarf and gloves, put them on her, then took her hand and left the courtyard.

North of the city was rarely so awake, near the residential area and bungalows kids were gathered playing together, displaying various types of fireworks, so of which Hannah had never seen before.

She was a bit tempted by the sky rocket that one little boy had in his hand.

It looked very cool.

Arnold Simmons turned her head back, "Really, you want kids’ stuff too?"

"A little bit." Hannah nodded honestly, suddenly got an idea, "Arnold Simmons, what if I ask him to let play with it, do you think he’d agree?"

She was serious about it.

Her steps already heading in that direction.

Arnold Simmons pulled her back, put on her coat hood, and patted it down, "Don’t snatch things from kids."

"How is that snatching!" She was indignant, flipping down the long ears on the hood, then swinging her hand to one side, "That’s negotiating!"

"Alright, it’s negotiating."

Arnold Simmons spoke soothingly, as if calming a slightly irritable little cat.

"Aren’t we going to see the fireworks show anymore? We won’t make it if we’re any later."

Many people had even arrived two hours early to secure spots.

Hannah saw photos sent in the class group, it was extrely crowded.

Thinking of this, Hannah stopped fussing about the fireworks and pulled Arnold Simmons along.

The distance from the north city area to the city center was still considerable, but fortunately, with many people heading out tonight, getting a taxi was quite convenient.

The streets were eerily empty, hardly any pedestrians or vehicles, but the closer they got to the city center, the noisier it beca, as if the entire city’s population was gathered there.

They couldn’t even enter the designated area upon arrival.

However, soone in the class group was monitoring the situation and sent a ssage over.
