She glanced down at the ti and decided to be bold, "Jimmy Simmons, what was your score on the last monthly exam?"
The topic changed abruptly, and Jimmy was still a bit slow to react.
But eting Hannah’s gaze, he still said, "It was okay."
"Okay?" Hannah continued to ask, "Is that not good?"
Jimmy never felt ashad of his poor grades; in fact, sotis he even took pride in them to mock those bookworms who only knew how to study.
Even if he ranked last, his family background was already sothing unattainable for others.
But facing Hannah, especially those clear eyes looking at him without any other emotions, just simple confusion.
That’s what made it so hard to deal with.
This was the first ti Jimmy couldn’t proudly state his ranking at the very bottom.
"Jimmy, is it inconvenient to say?"
Another question.
"There’s nothing inconvenient," Jimmy tugged at the corner of his mouth, unable to act tough, "It’s just average."
Having said that, he looked at Hannah’s expression.
She didn’t seem surprised.
"Study well and make progress every day."
A single "吧" changed the tone of the entire sentence.
Was it an exclamation? Or perhaps... disappointnt?
Regardless of which it was, it completely killed Jimmy’s mood for flirting.
The fiery passion of youth inside him was thoroughly extinguished by the phrase "study well and make progress every day," leaving only rising black smoke behind.
After that, Jimmy beca much quieter.
Hannah queued up and bought a bag of fried chicken cutlets, along with a drink, paid for them, and left.
When she crossed the street, sure enough, there was no trace of Jimmy behind her.
Probably pissed off enough by her.
As the legitimate heir of the Simmons Family, a princely figure, Jimmy was always popular wherever he went, especially with his superior looks, he was just like the male protagonist straight out of a novel.
Even if he was unpleasant and aggressive, it only gave people more room to fantasize about either transforming him into the person in their heart or joining him to beco soone by his side.
Regardless of gender.
By the ti Hannah entered the residential complex, it had already gotten dark.
The nearby basketball court was bustling, so with children playing around, and so students still in their school uniforms were playing basketball, amidst laughter and human noise.
Hannah subconsciously glanced back in the direction of the complex entrance.
The main gate blocked by a fence, the side gate open, with the bright, glaring light from the security room spilling out.
But tonight, the sight of a lazy, lightly smiling young man was absent.
Hannah stopped looking and turned to walk inside.
Osmanthus trees were planted on both sides of the complex, and this season was when the sweet osmanthus was fragrant. Small, millet-sized yellowish flowers clustered together, sotis falling down in a flurry when the wind blew.
The air was filled with a faint, sweet fragrance.
Inside the security room, the duty uncle poked his head out of the window, his voice carrying a slight accent, "I say, kid, how long you gonna stand here, looking for soone or waiting for soone?"
In the dimly lit corner, the young man lifted his head with a casual and careless look, "No, just walked soone back."
The security uncle, having been young himself, instantly understood, "Did you walk your girlfriend back?"
"Not really, just a... classmate." He carefully chose his words.
The uncle chuckled heartily.
