Woody Harrison felt he was being overshadowed more than once, even intentionally blocking John Lynch’s path during dance movents, deliberately bumping into him.

John Lynch struggled to maintain his balance, still trying to keep a smile on his face.

He subconsciously looked down at the audience and locked eyes with a pair of bright, dark pupils.

It was Hannah.

But it was only for a second before she moved her gaze away.

Next to her was a man half-kneeling on the ground, awkwardly lifting his head to talk to her.

John Lynch knew the man.

It was Hayes Edwards.

The face of their group’s first generation, now a top-tier celebrity.

There were always outstanding n around Hannah, especially her fiancé.

People like him probably didn’t even stand a chance to get an extra glance from her, right?

Lost in his own thoughts, John Lynch’s dance movents were rely chanical, in sync with his teammates.

By the ti the banquet ended, it was close to ten o’clock at night.

It wasn’t very late, and many who were involved had plans to move on to the next gathering.

Many eyes were on Hannah as well, with surface-level conversations pressing in. Not wanting to deal with them, Hannah eventually let Jack Stewart, her agent, step in to refuse.

After three years as an agent, handling these situations was his forte.

When leaving, Louis Snyder tried to catch up but was stopped in his tracks by the sudden appearance of Hayes Edwards.

Jackie Qualls was halted along with him as well.

Leaning against the wall with crossed arms, Hayes Edwards exuded the aura of a school bully squatting at the school gate, one brow raised, oozing rascality, "Gentlen, shall we talk?"

This was a corner, seldom trafficked.

The occasional passerby was too busy engaging with their companions to notice the trio.

Louis Snyder spoke first, seeing no need for pretense among acquaintances, his voice cold, "I don’t think there’s anything for us to talk about."

Hayes Edwards looked towards Jackie Qualls.

Jackie Qualls held his composure, still the image of a refined gentleman even now, "Mr. Edwards, is there sothing you need?"

Hayes Edwards smiled and spoke with a sense of justice, "See injustice on the road, draw your sword to help."

No one bothered her further, and Hannah picked up her skirt to walk out alone.

She didn’t take the crowded path.

By chance, she ran into a director she knew, who stopped to chat for a mont.

He ntioned a new movie project and asked if Hannah was interested in reading the script.

It was a fairly famous director known for making art films.

Although the box office returns weren’t exceptional, he had won several film awards.

Hannah beca interested and inquired about the start date of filming.

The director said it would be next year.

Indeed, a good movie requires a long ti to prepare.

The timing fit, so they conversed a bit more before the director walked away in high spirits.

Hannah continued along a path and confidently strode in her ten-centiter high heels.

She hadn’t reached her destination when she heard a burst of cursing from afar.

It was a group of rather young n.

The lighting was dim, making it difficult to see the number of people or their faces clearly.

All she could discern was one person being pinned down and beaten rcilessly.

"Just now on stage you seed pretty capable, huh? Really think soone would take interest? Aspiring for the stars without knowing your place."

"With your pretty boy face, you’re bound to be the one getting pushed around if you’re noticed."

"Damn, not even making a sound while getting hit. Are you a mute?"

As the group cursed, they continued to punch and kick at John Lynch.

He bit his teeth, not making a sound despite the pain.

Because he knew that crying out would be useless.
