Hannah Winter died during a rainy season, with the endless drizzle seeming as though it wished to wash away all the bloodshed and chaos from this world.
She had neither relatives nor friends.
Her battered body turned into a handful of ashes. It wasn’t until the final day before the notice ended that a mysterious person claid her remains and took them back to her hotown.
That person was Hayes Edwards.
They were all just unimportant characters, scattered pieces of a past, and conclusions told in a few words.
In the end, their lives were nothing more than a walk-on role in soone else’s story.
Hayes Edwards stopped in his tracks, his emotions fleeting in his eyes before he stepped back to Hannah’s side, "Hannah Winter, are you for real?"
Without waiting for an answer, he sighed, stretched lazily, and said indifferently, "Whatever, it’s not like it’s anything important, just forget it."
After all, she belonged to soone else now.
He felt sowhat desolate as he lanted again.
Suddenly regretting that he had been too slow to act.
When he was little, he really found Hannah Winter quite annoying, following him like a shadow every day, incessantly urging him to elope with her.
The only ti he got so angry that he pushed the little shadow over, he was caught by his own mother and got a spanking.
After that, he disliked the little shadow even more.
He was young back then, and he could only roughly rember these things, which he put behind him even more after they moved houses.
Until that ti when he saw her again...
Though she had changed a lot, he recognized her at first glance as the little shadow who used to follow him.
For so reason, though, she seed to have forgotten about him.
But that was fine, better she didn’t rember.
Didn’t rember... Why couldn’t she rember?
Initially, he didn’t intend to dwell on this question, but the more it went on, the more troubled he beca.
They knew each other first, so how could she fall for soone else!
She really was a promise-breaking little shadow!

In the original story, there was no record of any interaction between the two.
Not until Hannah ssed up the story, and Hayes Edwards chose to recall the past, did the plot automatically fill in the gaps.
Jin Lian had to search through it several tis before turning around and recounting it to Hannah.
In the existing plot, Hayes Edwards did have a brief encounter with the original Hannah Winter after they grew up.
Back then, the original Hannah was the scandal-ridden "royal" of a talent show, and like in the plot, Hayes appeared on the show as a special guest.
Hayes recognized his childhood playmate at a glance, but felt disappointed after discovering that she didn’t rember him.
In subsequent encounters, whether through conversations with those around him or from information he gathered, he realized that Hannah Winter seed very different from what he rembered.
The Hannah of his childhood was mischievous and boisterous, overly lively. In contrast, the grown-up Hannah had beco introverted and weak, harboring a hundred thoughts yet hesitating to voice even one.
Hayes, still rembering their childhood bond, warned Hannah a few tis that the people around her were just using her.
But Hannah, deeply ensnared in the tender traps of Jackie Qualls, refused to believe it, instead assuming that Hayes was deliberately stirring trouble and told Jackie about it.
Jackie Qualls, intent on paving the way for Tiffany Lynch, naturally wouldn’t let anyone ruin his plan.
Soon after, Hayes was hit with a scandal.
It wasn’t enough to force him out of the industry, but the damage was significant.
