"Yeah, you don’t care about anything," he said with a chuckle, loosening his tie. There was a newfound determination in his eyes, "But you know, I won’t give up so easily."

He had grown fond of reminiscing about the past. Even his dreams were filled with the Hannah Winter who had adored him wholeheartedly.

She would snuggle up to him, whisper sweet nothings, her eyes brimming with longing.

He thought he would enjoy it, but every ti he woke up, he felt nothing but an overwhelming emptiness, as though his heart was missing a piece.

The things one can’t have are always the most morable.

Hannah noticed the restrained emotion in his gaze but didn’t care, "Think whatever you want, but I’m going back to rest."

With that, she stepped past the man in front of her.

A faint fragrance lingered as she passed by; he instinctively reached out to stop her but grasped only the cold air.

Looking back, Hannah had already reached the door.

Leaning on the door fra, she turned around, her soft smile glowing warmly, "George River, stop following around. A fine President like you could do so much better. Why stoop to the level of the paparazzi?"

Her smile was so dazzling that George paused, "That’s my pleasure."

"Suit yourself."

She waved her hand and walked away.

George stood still for a long ti before regaining his composure, by which ti her familiar slender figure had long disappeared.

A hollow sourness filled his heart.

He occasionally saw the blessings for Hannah and Arnold Simmons on the internet. Every word seed to stab into his heart.

He couldn’t help but wonder, if he hadn’t hidden their relationship during the two years he had been with Hannah, if he had kept her by his side, would people be blessing them just as much?

Hayes Edwards had a heavy drinking session last night and woke up this morning with a still-aching head.

It felt as if soone had smashed it with a stick.

Clutching his head, he couldn’t help but curse before opening his eyes to see the person sitting on the sofa, which made him feel even worse.

"You... why are you here?"

Roy Yarn turned his head, still holding a book, sitting up straight with a hint of sleepy confusion, "Hannah asked to co."

After finishing his sentence, his gaze drifted down to Hayes.

Hayes shivered under the look and quickly pulled the blanket over himself, his words coming out all mumbled, "She... she asked you to co and you just did? Don’t you know that n and won shouldn’t be so casual with each other?"

Roy frowned slightly, but then his expression relaxed, "But aren’t we both n?"

Hayes suddenly realized, "Right."

It didn’t seem like a big deal that they were both n.

With that thought, he flung off the blanket again.

He was still wearing last night’s clothes, which now reeked of overnight alcohol and had been stewing under the covers, slling foul.

Hayes couldn’t help but be disgusted with himself. After half an hour in the bathroom, making sure he was completely clean, he finally ca out again.

The sun was just rising outside the window, its light piercing through the gaps in the curtains.

Drying his hair, Hayes sat down, first glancing at the book in Roy’s hand.

All in a foreign language, not a word he could understand.

He curled his lip and grabbed a can of soda to open, "Hey, bookworm, I have a question for you."

Roy looked up, "Are you talking to ?"

Hayes took a few sips of the icy soda, refreshed, and ran his fingers through his blond hair, "Is there anyone else in this room besides us?"

Roy looked stunned, just about to answer when Hayes cut him off.
