The man’s expression was cold and stern, his suit still unstripped, portrayed a cool and satiny deanor. "If I hadn’t shown up, my pet canary might have flown into soone else’s embrace."
Hannah froze for a mont, not sure how much of her conversation with George River had been overheard by Arnold Simmons, but she imdiately recovered her seductive smile and softened her tone when she approached Arnold. "Mr. Simmons, you wouldn’t have co if I hadn’t said that, would you?"
She blinked, her movents were charmingly naive - only in wearing that cheongsam did she exhibit a mature, seductive aura.
Arnold turned his gaze from her alluring figure, his voice as icy as jade. "As long as you know."
Although his voice was cold, his earlier anger and alienation had subsided.
With the cheongsam accentuating her figure, Hannah’s natural beauty shone through - her porcelain white face, youthful naivety, and the seductive aura in her robes highlighted her charm, "Mr. Simmons, do you think my new dress looks good?"
Her smile was like that of a child eager for praise - Arnold can clearly envision her wagging tail.
He instinctively wanted to tease her, to irritate her, but swallowed his words at the last mont and just spoke, "It’s fine."
"Just fine?" Hannah glanced doubtfully at her landscape patterned cheongsam and mumbled to herself, "The tailor, Mr Chen, proudly ntioned that this outfit was his best work in recent years. It was even designed with as his inspiration. The other girls envied when they saw it, but he only let wear it."
As she spoke, laughter crinkled her eyes, "He also said that of all the cheongsams he had made over the years, I was the only one born to wear one. Had I been born a few decades earlier, surely I would have dazzled my era."
The young girl seed to love being complinted. Talking about it made her jovial, like a cat purring in contentnt after being stroked.
Arnold couldn’t resist pinching the young girl’s soft cheek. His thin lips parted slightly, teasingly. "Those who make clothes always hype their own creations. He must have deceived you."
as he finished, Hannah frowned at Arnold. He thought she would get angry.
Who knew that she would laugh happily on her own and continued with his words, "I also think that Mr Chen wasn’t entirely truthful. I know I am a beauty who would have been the most dazzling in any era."
She was brimming with confidence, as if nobody could destory it.
Yet, she was very sensitive and could not tolerate anyone criticizing her appearance.
He loved to tease her. He knew full well that she liked complints, but he deliberately didn’t play along. He favored seeing a touch of blush on her soft cheek as she got angry. It was enticing.
Hannah turned her head, her feline eyes looking at him, "Mr. Simmons, you really are lucky."
Arnold didn’t understand and responded in a low voice, "Hmm?"
Hannah: "Don’t you feel so fortunate to have a beauty like ? Others desire and can’t have!"
Arnold paused, recalling the ssages Hannah had sent him recently, most of which were along the lines of ’I look even prettier today’, and ’Mr. Simmons, you really are fortunate’.
Her tones were prideful and elightful to watch.
He finally remarked, "You’re narcissistic. I’ve never seen a young girl like you."
