In another half-year, he would be 17, which is a normal age to attend college.
Zhang Yang’s idea to skip the 12th grade was inspired by Farmar.
Farmar, by the end of his 11th-grade season, felt he was no longer challenged in high school and wanted to start college early.
He indeed had the capability to play college basketball at that ti.
When UCLA heard about it, they were very enthusiastic, offering many concessions, such as allowing Farmar to skip the Brown Bears Team tradition and start as a freshman.
But when everything seed ready, Farmar ran into problems; his academic performance was too poor.
In March, May, June, and August 2003, he failed the college entrance exam four consecutive tis, and his SAT scores didn’t even et the minimum requirent for special admissions.
He could enter UCLA as a preparatory student, but preparatory students can’t participate in NCAA gas…
In the end, this plan fell through, and Farmar returned to high school, worked hard for another year, and finally passed the minimum score line in June this year and successfully entered UCLA.
DeRozan, his parents, and the coach had all been inford; he and DeRozan had agreed to wait until the end of the season to discuss it, dropping hints in the anti to avoid the coach being unable to accept it.
For the next two days, Zhang Yang didn’t go to training, instead spending ti resting with his mother.
