Coco was in the middle of taking a spoonful of dinner when she brought up the topic she had with Kairo in the hallway earlier and took a mont to finish her bite before speaking.
"By the way." She began, a subtle excitent in her voice. "Both the receptionist position and the bar staff position are available at the guild.. I’ll take Kairo with to be interviewed tomorrow so if soone else wants to co, just let know."
Quizen perked up at Coco’s words, his expression quickly morphing into a frown as he considered the information.
"Bar staff?" He repeated, his voice tinged with curiosity and concern. "What exactly do you an by that? What kind of responsibilities would soone in that position be expected to handle?"
Coco took another spoonful of her dinner, her hum of contemplation filling the air, before she offered she turned to face Quizen.
"Mr. Covez didn’t provide specific details." Coco answered, pausing for a mont before continuing. "He only ntioned the need for soone who can handle the job effectively.. That’s why he told to bring anyone who might be interested in the position."
Quizen nodded his head and stared down at his plate, his expression unreadable as he processed her words.
"I love my current job.." He admitted, murmuring as quiet as he could with his gaze fixed on his al. "But there’s a part of that wants to work in the sa place you do.. Being close to you and knowing you’re nearby brings reassurance and comfort."
Coco blinked, her face softening as she continued chewing her food and silently considered Quizen’s statent, genuinely wanting to help, but uncertain how to help.
"I’m sorry, Quizen." She said after swallowing, a frown erging on her face "I wish I knew how to help you.. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what advice or options to offer in this situation.. I an, you did say that you love your job."
Quizen plays guitar and he sings well.. I don’t think the guild’s bar is hiring a musician right now. Coco thought, the corner of her lips curling down.
Zaque sighed, the sound expressing his irritation as he gave Quizen a firm smack on the arm, shaking his head.
"That’s enough." The first husband chided, rolling his eyes at Quizen’s behavior. "Stop making Coco feel like it’s her fault. You have two options— either resign from your current job and switch to the guild, or accept the situation and stay where you are."
"What? I didn’t even—" Quizen spoke up, but got cut off.
"Quit guilt-tripping our wife for sothing out of her control." Zaque narrowed his eyes and glared at the fourth husband.
Quizen snapped out of his self-pity mont upon realizing the effect his words had on Coco and turned to her. "It’s not your fault, okay? It’s on , and it’s my problem. Please don’t feel guilty. I’m so sorry."
Coco shook her head gently, a reassuring smile gracing her features. "It’s alright, Quizen."
"No, it was wrong of so please don’t say that." Quizen frowned, tightening his grip on his utensils as he gaze down on his plate.
"No, really. I understand." Coco giggled and dismissed his worry. "Though, I wish I could offer so way to help because I want you to have whatever you want— doesn’t matter what as long as it is within my ability to give."
"What?" Quizen perked up, his cheeks warming up.
"Unfortunately, I can’t do anything about this because I don’t want you to stop what you love doing.. Which is singing and playing music for people." Coco stated, flashing Quizen an apologetic smile.
Quizen shut his mouth and stared at Coco, his heart racing as his feelings for her blood overwhelmingly.
Thankfully, Heiren cleared his throat, drawing attention to himself and addressed Coco directly. "I’m interested in working at the guild, but I want to be ho before dinner ti so I can prepare a al for everyone."
Coco blinked and nodded slowly to let him know she’s listening.
"Would it be rude of to talk with the guildmaster about that?" Heiren asked, his eyebrows furrowing in worry. "I don’t want to put you in a bad light.."
"No, I don’t think so." Coco humd out as she thought about it. "I believe it’s perfectly fine to have a conversation with the guildmaster about that.. It just shows your interest in taking the job so I don’t see anything wrong with it."
Heiren’s face lit up with enthusiasm, his excitent evident as he responded to Coco’s agreent.
"Besides, you’ll never put in a bad light when I’m already in the bad light." Coco laughed, dismissing everyone’s worry unintentionally.
"In that case, I’ll wake up extra early to prepare als for everyone." He proclaid, grinning.
"If you don’t mind, I’ll wake up early to assist as well."
Kairo rarely spoke up during their dinners, usually remaining quiet and observant, but today, he felt a strong desire to help the husbands— well, he was already helping by buying ingredients, but now, he wants to help more.
Heiren was surprised, but it quickly transford into a warm smile. "Of course! That would be great honestly! The more hands helping, the better!"
Then just like earlier, Kairo flashes Heiren a small, genuine smile, causing everyone to look at him with wide eyes.
Quizen was the first one to get out of his shock and quickly shifted to excitent, resulting in him leaning forward on the table and bead.
"You look cute when you smile!" He blurted out with a wide grin spreading across his face because he couldn’t help, but be chard by the unexpected sight so he spoke his thoughts honestly and without filter.
"That’s not sus at all, dude." She comnted, raising an eyebrow at Quizen.
"What? I’m an artist and seriously! I find his smile cute!" Quizen exclaid, pointing his fork at Kairo which caused the diator to grimace.
"I don’t feel flattered." Kairo stayed bluntly.
