"You can’t do that, Zaque." Heiren mumbled, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes, I can." Zaque stated bluntly and crossed his arms, "I said it very clearly that I want her babies inside so all of you can’t do anything about it— besides, you don’t want her, right? I can enjoy the attention I’ll get from her."

Alhai felt his blood pressure going up as he listened further to Zaque’s words, not expecting such betrayal from the person he considered as a friend.

How could he? After all this ti? After all the hard tis the four of them went through together?

"So? Is she worth it? For you to just throw away the bond we built for the last three years?" Alhai frowned, his heart throbbing.

He can’t believe that the first ever friend he made would throw their friendship away just for a woman who claid that she was soone else— the sa woman who had mistreated them without a care.

"I’m not throwing away the bond we have." Zaque’s eyes softened ever so slightly as he looked at Alhai, "But that very bond was the only thing that’s stopping to pursue her."

Zaque felt his heart getting squeezed by sothing at how pained Alhai, Heiren, and Quizen looked right now.

"I pushed the desire to befriend Coco because the three of you don’t want to." Zaque stood straight and tightened his crossed arms, almost like he was hugging himself to protect himself from harm.

"I pushed every thoughts of what could have happened if we accepted Coco the mont she told us that she’s no longer our wife, but soone who is responsible and mindful of us." Zaque’s voice turned soft and gentle, his mind recalling every interaction he had with Coco.

"I didn’t want to make the three of you to be upset with so I stopped myself. I controlled my feelings. I distanced myself from everything that could lead to her." His previous firm tone was now shaking, almost desperate.

The diator’s thoughts turned to the woman he had grown fond of, a flood of mories washing over him, her image so clear in his mind and her face appearing in his mind’s eye like a vision.

He could see her face so clearly, her smile like sunlight on a cloudy day, her eyes like pools of shining erald in a cave— her soft curves, her gentle smile, her dark hair and sparkling eyes.

He rembered the first ti she laughed in his presence, the way her voice sounded when she spoke about being responsible for the four of them.

He could hear her voice in his mind, her laughter like music to his ears, her words like a soothing balm to his soul— assuring him and making him believe that everything she had said is nothing, but the truth.

He could practically feel her warmth through her words, every assurance like a warm fire on cruel winter.

He rembered the way her skin had felt against his own when she saved him from the flying pig, the way her scent had clung to him after she hugged him tightly to herself, protecting her the flying monster.

He rembered the way she popped up with a lot of tea, essential oils, and soaps— telling him that he should split the things to the four of them and call for her if they did not like anything from what she bought because she would buy them another.

The mories were bittersweet, a mix of joy and pain, the happy tis a painful reminder of what he had at his fingers.

"But I stopped myself." Zaque mumbled, the words stabbing him straight to the heart and hurting him more in the process, "I stopped it because I love the three of you more than you think and I didn’t want to destroy our friendship."

"So, just this once.." Right then and there, they knew that Zaque will kneel in front of three of them if he has to.

It hurts them to see the person who had protected them as much as he could plead to them like this, they knew that Zaque doesn’t deserve to get hurt.

"Let be selfish and pursue the woman who has stepped up and treated us like we matter, like we’re important and more than just a decoration that could be thrown at any mont." Zaque lowered his head and let his arms fall to his side.

"We started this conversation wrong and I’m to be blad for that." Zaque expressed his guilt as he tightened his hands into a ball against his clothes, the very clothes that Coco bought for him.

"I’m sorry if I hurt the three of you." Zaque apologized, owning up to the consequences of his words and actions, "I’m really sorry."

Heiren, Alhai, and Quizen were the only people he had grown fond of and loved when Coco Hughes walked away from them, leaving them to go get wasted sowhere in the village.

He had loved them like his brothers and knowing that he had caused them pain hurts him as well.

"Bla all you want, curse all you want, hate all you want." Zaque mumbled the words out from the bottom of his heart, "But please, don’t forget that I love all of you and did the best I could to make all of you happy."

"I’m so sorry." Zaque lowered himself further, kneeling down on the floor and making the other three diators flinch.

"You don’t have to kneel—" Quizen said, his eyes going wide.

"I have to." Zaque had cut him off and lowered his head, "I’m asking for forgiveness for hurting the three of you, for breaking the promise we have, and for betraying the trust you gave ."

"No, Zaque—" Heiren rushed forward, his eyes glossed with tears.

"I want to pursue her and nothing will change my mind." Zaque had cut off the second husband with a firm, but softer ti.
