"Oh, dear.." Jacques gazed at Coco’s haul in awe.

"Oh, dear indeed." Renaldo agreed, his eyes wide in surprise and disbelief, but there was a hint of excitent behind those black irises of his.

In front of them was their dearest friend, taking several mangled monster ats from the basket in front of her and placing them on top of the dead flying pig by the table— clean and intact.

The state of the dead flying pig was the complete opposite of the monster ats inside the basket.

"I don’t know if you’ll be able to sell these, but try to do so, okay? You can throw them away if you think the at is soiled. You’re the butcher so I’m sure you know the state of the at best." Coco said, throwing the last mangled piece among the pile.

Renaldo could only nod his head with fervor, eager to start working on the at she bought and tend to them.

"Understood." He replied, a look of amazent on his scarred face as he moved towards the table and ushered Coco aside, "You’re the best hunter I could ask for, Coco— just look at this!"

Renaldo was grinning from ear to ear. "It’s a wonder how you’re not born or raised in this village, but you still managed to beat every single hunter I know! You’re amazing!"

The expression on Renaldo’s face was a rare one and Coco couldn’t help, but let a smile creep into her face even though she wasn’t feeling well due to the mories that keep flashing in her mind.

Seeing the normally stoic and serious Renaldo looking happy and excited to do his job cheered Coco’s mood a little, not only did he tell her that she was amazing, he also said that she had beaten the hunters that Renaldo previously worked with.

"Thanks, Renaldo." Coco didn’t hesitate to express her gratitude, the small smile on her face growing wider for a mont, "That ans a lot."

"Don’t thank ." Renaldo said and turned to her, "You should thank yourself for having such a skill on hunting these monsters without tampering too much on the at, you know?"

"But the ones I bought today are way beyond tampered." Coco stated and raised an eyebrow.

"No, from the looks of it, these monsters got caught in a tornado made by a nearby green stone." Renaldo was quick to shoot down the idea from Coco’s head and told her what he had observed so far.

"The hunters who used to sell the monsters they caught would either ruin the quality because they couldn’t handle their weapons properly or have spoiled the at, but these? They may look like they weren’t supposed to be on the market, but they were cut cleanly." He humd out.

"So..?" Coco cocked her head to the side.

"He ans that the at would still be able to get sold off despite its appearance." Jacques giggled, approaching Coco and placing a hand on her friend’s hip.

"Oh." Coco blinked with her shoulders sagging forward, "That’s a relief."

"Now, now, why would the lovely wife have doubts regarding these ats? Even if they can’t be sold, they could still be offered to the World Tree." Jacques squeezed Coco’s hip reassuringly and smiled softly.

Coco humd and was about to respond, but she heard a gasp from her head.

"World Tree?! The World Tree exists here?!" Lala exclaid, the shock and excitent clear in her voice as she flew close to Jacques’ face, "How co you didn’t tell us?! This is important news!"

I’m guessing the World Tree is important to fairies? Coco thought to herself as she kept the smile on her face.

"World Tree?" Coco asked, letting the smile on her lips fall and stare straight into Jacques’ eyes, "I’m sorry. I wasn’t smart enough to know what that is."

"Not smart enough? How can you say that about yourself— you’re unbelievable, Coco! Goodness!" Jacques sounds like she was fuming for Coco basically calling herself dumb in a roundabout way.

"Just because you don’t know sothing doesn’t make you less smart, okay?" The woman practically hissed the words out.

Coco could only nod her head in understanding, the way her friend got mad at her reminded her of Corinne, her big sister, due to how she got mad for calling herself dumb.

Corinne had always hated it whenever Coco or Carina would be depressed about sothing and call themselves dumb just because they didn’t have sufficient information about certain things.

"Just because you don’t know sothing doesn’t make you less smart, sis! It just ans that you have more room to learn sothing new!"

Those were the exact words Corinne would say to her whenever her mind gets deep in the gutter.

Ah, this is not good.. Coco thought to herself, feeling the corner of her eyes burn as she tried to not cry right then and there.

Jacques reminded her of her little family back on earth and it’s really hitting her right where it hurts.

"Learning new things is good so don’t call yourself with those bad words—" Jacques was going to scold Coco for calling herself like that, but she stopped when she noticed Coco’s eyes glossing with tears.

Her eyes went wide in surprise and she was quick to pull her hand away from Coco’s hip.

"Oh my goodness— Coco.. I’m sorry, oh my god, I’m really, sorry. Was I too harsh on you? I didn’t an to, I’m so sorry." Jacques apologized as fast as she could, her eyebrows furrowing in worry.

Renaldo got curious as to what was happening and turned around to look at them, an eyebrow raised in confusion with a butcher knife at hand, however, his eyes went as wide as saucers when he saw that Coco was about to cry.

Coco rely shook her head. "No.. I was just rely feeling under the weather."

"But—"

"I’m fine." Coco cut Jacques off and turned around, "I’ll be on my way."
