"How did you die?" Evan asked with narrowed eyes.
Hearing Evan’s question, Natasha looked at the sky with a bitter expression and spoke in a dazed voice.
"I was living peacefully in the depths of the void when so big shots started fighting. Their battle was so intense that it reached deep into the void itself. I was caught in the crossfire because I didn’t flee in ti... and I died."
Evan: "..."
Ashley: "..."
Sylvan: "..."
All three of them stared at Natasha blankly, wondering if she was ssing with them.
When she first said she had died accidentally, they thought sothing serious or complicated might have happened.
But hearing that she was simply caught in crossfire and died... it was just too absurd— especially considering she had been a Progenitor, which ant she must have been incredibly powerful at that ti.
Seeing the strange looks she was getting, Natasha’s face flushed with embarrassnt, and she quickly defended herself.
"You don’t understand— those people who were fighting were really powerful. I didn’t even get the chance to run away before a golden halberd destroyed a large area of the Origin World... and I was struck by that halberd."
A golden halberd...
When Sylvan and Ashley heard those words, they imdiately turned toward Evan with strange expressions in their eyes.
Evan, on the other hand kept a calm expression, looking as serene as a saint who could not be shaken by anything.
He even nodded in understanding, as if he had already known she would say sothing like this.
’A big shot died in the Origin World, so there is no way Lord Azroth wasn’t involved in this...’ Evan thought to himself and at that mont, he completely abandoned the idea of proving that he wasn’t sohow tied to all the major tragedies in this world.
He Quit!
Evan took a step forward and patted Natasha on the shoulder with a sympathetic look.
"You must have felt wronged, dying even though you were just peacefully sleeping in the void space."
Natasha stared at Evan in shock, clearly not expecting this demon to console her.
"I hope the ones who started fighting for no reason, ending your peaceful life died miserably in the stomach of a void beast."
Two streams of tears rolled down Natasha’s cheeks as she nodded silently. She truly thought those bastards had gone too far. She had only wanted to enjoy her life, sleeping for a few million years, but they started a battle and destroyed her ho.
Now, hearing soone curse them so viciously, she felt like she had finally t a kind soul.
’I really misunderstood this noble man...’ Natasha thought to herself.
Sylvan and Ashley, anwhile, looked at silently crying Natasha without any visible expression, wondering what her face would look like if she ever found out that the very man responsible for her "tragedy" was standing right in front of her.
"So, Natasha... are you still the Progenitor of the Void Beasts, or...?" Evan left the sentence unfinished, but Natasha understood his aning.
She shook her head and replied in a bitter tone.
"I am just a normal human now. A new Progenitor must have appeared among the Void Beasts after I died."
Evan felt a twinge of disappointnt at her answer, though he didn’t let it show on his face.
"But..." Natasha quickly added, to Evan’s surprise, "I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that I can once again beco the Progenitor of the Void Beasts. I don’t know how, but I am certain that if I fulfill certain conditions, I can definitely reclaim that position."
Hearing her words, Evan studied her thoughtfully.
’Well, even if she is not the Progenitor right now, she could still be useful to .’
He recalled the strange void creature he had summoned back when he went to the Maldrith Kingdom and killed Winterclaw’s people.
’If I help her recover all of her mories from when she was the Progenitor of the Void Beasts, she could definitely give a lot of the information I need.’
With that thought, Evan looked at Natasha seriously.
"You know, I was planning to kill you for your conspiracies against back in the Arora World. But now that I know about your past, I can’t bring myself to kill such a tragic soul..."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"However, the three of us ca here on an important mission, and now that you know about us, we can’t simply let you go."
Evan stepped back slightly, his tone lowering.
"So, you have two choices— either join us in what we are planning to do, or..." He didn’t finish the sentence, but the cold glint in his eyes made the rest clear.
"I will join you," Natasha said without even a mont of hesitation. "I was already planning to leave the camp of the demons. If you want to join you, I will be glad to do so."
"Good." Evan was pleased with her choice and turned to Ashley.
"Let’s go. We should carry out the plan we discussed earlier."
Ashley nodded, and in an instant, she brought everyone high into the sky above the battlefield.
Evan pulled them into the void space to conceal their presence, and the four of them began moving slowly toward the main camp of the dragons.
"What are we going to do?" Natasha asked curiously when she realized they were heading straight for the heart of the dragons camp.
At the sa ti, she was inwardly shocked by Ashley’s display of power. Natasha herself was highly proficient in manipulating spatial energy, yet compared to Ashley, she felt utterly powerless.
It was as if the very essence of space had abandoned her, donning a green hat in betrayal and willingly placing itself in Ashley’s lap, refusing to heed her call no matter how desperately she tried to command it.
’Just how strong are these people?’ She wondered silently.
Evan smiled at Natasha’s earlier question and replied in a righteous tone while looking at the main camp of the dragons.
"We are going to end this war."
