"No, please don’t kill ! I am actually the Progenitor of the Void Beasts! If you kill , I won’t be nearly as useful to you as I could be alive!"

Evan, Ashley, and Sylvan were stunned when they heard Natasha’s words, their eyes widening in disbelief as they stared at her.

Without saying anything, all three of them used their spiritual senses simultaneously to verify if she was telling the truth, but after inspecting her body, they found no trace indicating she was a Void Beast or anything remotely similar.

"This woman really thinks we are fools. I think you should just turn her into a shadow undead," Ashley said after confirming she wasn’t a Void Beast.

This ti, even Sylvan nodded in agreent with her words. As an old man, he really hate liars.

Evan looked at Natasha and shook his head.

"You know, lying to us like this will only hasten your death."

Natasha’s expression turned desperate upon seeing their reaction and she shouted again in panic.

"I am not lying! Believe , I really am the Progenitor of the Void Beasts!"

"Yeah, yeah, you are the Progenitor of the Void Beasts, and I am the Progenitor of the Eltharons. My girlfriend is the Progenitor of the Shadow Dragons, my bastard father is the Progenitor of the Elves, and my scam artist of a mother is the Progenitor of Demons. Apparently, we are in a marketplace that sells Progenitor titles in wholesale," Evan replied, nodding seriously as he looked at Natasha.

"How about you buy yourself a few more Progenitor titles from this market? We guarantee satisfaction with our prices."

Sylvan: "..."

Ashley: "..."

Natasha: "???"

Sylvan and Ashley stared at Evan with blank expressions, rendered speechless by his sarcasm.

anwhile, Natasha didn’t understand half of what Evan had said, but she could clearly tell no one believed her so she quickly spoke up again.

"I know it sounds unrealistic, but I am telling the truth! I have mories of my past life in my mind. I used to live in a place called the Origin World, but I died in an accident and found myself here."

The carefree look on Evan’s face gradually faded as he heard Natasha’s words and the mont she ntioned the Origin World, his expression turned serious.

Sylvan and Ashley also exchanged glances, both showing a look of shock as they were aware of the Origin World because Evan had spoken to them about it before.

Seeing the sudden change in their expressions, Natasha’s eyes lit up.

"Judging by your reactions, it seems you also know about the Origin World. If that’s the case, you should understand that not many people in Utopia know about it. It would be impossible for soone like to possess such important knowledge. I only know about it because of fragnts of mories in my mind."

Evan thought for a mont before summoning Gobu from his shadow storage.

When Natasha saw Gobu— an eldritch goblin whose monstrous appearance alone was terrifying enough to induce nightmares, her heart turned cold in an instant.

"Y-you... What are you doing?" She stamred in a trembling voice.

However, Evan ignored her and simply ordered Gobu.

"Go through her mories using your Transcendent powers. Don’t hurt her in any way. Just verify whether she is telling the truth."

Gobu nodded upon hearing Evan’s order and as he looked at Natasha, the dozens of small eyes on his bloated, pot-belly-sized stomach began to glow.

Natasha suddenly felt an overwhelming wave of dizziness assault her.

Her eyes grew hazy, her body limp, as if she were heavily intoxicated.

Evan could have used his Soul Search skill to verify her mories, but that technique damaged the target’s soul. Unless he truly intended to harm soone, he preferred not to use it.

Gobu, on the other hand, had awakened a Transcendent power related to the mind.

Not only could he manipulate and view the mories of his targets at will, but he could also shatter their minds and souls instantly— so long as they were weaker than him.

Using his Transcendent abilities, Gobu scanned Natasha’s mories in re minutes and when he finished, the eerie eyes on his belly dimd.

Natasha snapped back to her senses the mont Gobu stopped and looked at the eldritch goblin with undisguised horror.

Although her consciousness had been numbed during Gobu’s examination, she could still recall the terrifying feeling of helplessness— how she had been utterly frozen, unable to move even a finger.

’If he had wanted to kill then, I wouldn’t even have realized how I died...’ She thought, her face pale and drenched in cold sweat.

Evan and the others ignored Natasha’s reaction and turned their attention to Gobu, who gave a firm nod.

"She is telling the truth. Although the mories are fragnted and scattered, they are genuine. She really used to be the Progenitor of the Void Beasts and died in an accident."

Evan, Sylvan, and Ashley looked at one another, their expressions speechless.

They had only captured this woman to extract so information about demons and plan their next move, yet she sohow turned out to be a forr Progenitor of the Void Beasts.

’I feel like I might get PTSD from the word "Progenitor" one day, considering how many are involved in my life lately...’ Evan thought with a weary sigh as he looked at Natasha.

"So, Natasha... no, Miss Past Progenitor, care to enlighten us a bit about your situation?"

He paused for a mont, then added, "Oh, and before that— tell how you died."

As he spoke, his eyes narrowed and his gaze sharpened.

Given everything that had happened to him so far, he already had a guess about who might be responsible for her death.

But even so, he still hoped— desperately that this ti, it would be different.

When Natasha heard Evan’s words, a bitter smile slowly spread across her face and she looked toward the sky with a dazed expression.

"I died because..."
