Above the towering citadel was the crown where the office of the Authority resided. It pierced through the heavens, defining the essence of the United World Governnt as the liberator of those shacked by dominion. Presently, the office of the Authority was filled to the brim with paperwork. After all, the 30-Day War against the Colonial Dominions had just ended.
Resting over a luxurious chair, Abraham rubbed the bridge of his nose as dealing with the endless papers was exhausting even for soone like him. He felt worn out, though it was entirely ntally as his body maintained its optimal state because of the golden sun gleaming above the bluish skies. Regardless, his thoughts was crowded with the aftermath of the war.
The last of the Colonial Dominions had surrendered, though hundreds of thousands died from the war. These casualties mostly originated from the colonial armies as surrender didn't seem to appear in their minds until only a tenth of their forces was left. It was troubleso, to say the least. Especially the pressure it ushered to the logistics of the United Military.
Fortunately, however... Through utilization of the Combined-Technology, the United Military could augnt its logistic capabilities, ensuring that the logistical power of the United World Governnt grew alongside the expanding military power. Not only did the Combined-Technology swelled in demand, it was also advancing at a greater pace.
The knowledge brought from the battlefield practically ensured that any known or discovered weakness would be taken care off before the actual mass-production of the strategic ships and the CHs. The effectiveness of these technologies alongside the modular tech of the Combined-Technology practically brought about a new age for the World Governnt.
It was the first technological step forward of the country.
Anyhow, the defeat of the Colonial Dominions expanded the borders of the United World Governnt into 15x its forr size. It was problematic since the current territory of the country was far larger than its projected influence. It would take ti and adaptation before the World Governnt could actually managed such vast sea regions.
But there were pieces of good news along the way, so of their neighbors requested to join the United World Governnt. These neighbors were the neutral and friendly ones. Although belonging to the League of Humanity, they were far different than the Colonial Dominions that perpetuated the Ferus Sea. After all, they were actual countries.
These two neighbors were the Kingdom of Vesta and the Protectorate of Nox. One was an independent kingdom while the other was a theocratic state that belonged to the Sovereign of the Moon, Kaguya. Since the relations between the World Governnt and these two nations were amicable, it didn't take long before they beca a part of the UWG.
To be fair, joining the ranks of states within the United World Governnt brought nothing more but advantages to them. Especially when the World Governnt valued the autonomy of their mber states, although there were standards that needed to be determined. And ultimately, they would have to answer to the World Governnt.
Other than these two, most Colonial Dominions required a mont of recovery before governance over them could continue. Fortunately, the Sentinel Fleet ensured that not too much of the industrial and agricultural industries of the Colonial Dominions would be decimated. It would be extrely difficult, even for them to build the industries of multiple Colonial Dominions.
There was also the slaves that had been liberated from each of these Colonial Dominions. According to prior estimates, there should be about a million of beastfolks released from their unfortunate fates. This didn't include the millions of colonial civilians that have beco refugees. These two were major problems for the country.
But the United Military and the World Governnt were working together to solve the troubleso issue, which was the refugee crises. With the resources invested unto these organizations, it shouldn't take too long before a solution was suggested and sent to him. Though, it did made him realize how expanding the country too fast brought issues that weren't a problem to them.
Whether it'd be a famine, plague, or an economic recession. It was a lot. However, utilizing the newly-developed logistic capabilities of the United World Governnt. Those consud by famines, plagues, or recessions would be aided and saved by the World Governnt. After all, they had beco a part of the country unless they desired to leave the Ferus Sea...
And perhaps return to the mainland.
Now that he thought about it, there was also the complicated problem regarding the citizenship of refugees. It was a complicated and tily process, but with the introduction of millions of refugees. Their current system was proving to be ineffective against the influx of people. Although, it wasn't sothing he should be worrying about. Since it was Charlotte's job to handle it.
"I should have expected this." He muttered to himself, realizing that he rely gave himself more paperwork to handle by expanding the entirety of the United World Governnt. But the expansion of the country was inevitable, so he could only sigh to himself. There was no used in regretting what had already happened. Instead, he should focus his attention to the future.
The first thing he needed to do was the expansion of the strategic ships into the United Navy. The reason for this was because of the current size of their territory. Naval vessels simply took more ti to even patrol the bordering waters or sea regions. It would be too inefficient with travel tis lasting a couple of weeks to a month.
The second thing was opening the internet for the citizens of the United World Governnt. Obviously, while internet provided advantages such as widespread information. It also brought in problematic issues such as misinformation and easy formation of extremist groups. He needed to be careful if he wanted to bring forth the digital age of the modern world.
The third thing was trade as even with the World Governnt being an economic powerhouse. Handling the recovery of multiple Colonial Dominions took a toll to their national treasury. Trade with nations outside of the Ferus Sea was paramount, and he was interested in tackling the Typhon Region. It was part of the continent of Europa cramd with a magical-species such as monsters.
Although, reports from rcedes made him furrowed his eyebrows. Like the League of Humanity, the nations within the Typhon Region had history of enslaving others. So of them even hadn't stopped their slave trade and maintained it in the background. He wasn't that surprise, especially when enslaving your enemies or strangers was the usual norm and trend of the Primordial World.
However, it did co in as a surprise since Echidna never ntioned about any slave trade going on within the continental region of Typhon.
"What did I even expect from a group that consider themselves as monsters and barbaric?" Abraham shook his head as the history lesson from Echidna should have made him realized how precarious the circumstance was within the continental region. But he wasn't the type to bare a grudge against those who he didn't even know.
So he commanded rcedes to continue her observation and suggest the termination of the slave trade. While it would be difficult, it wouldn't be impossible.
"This world is too over reliant to free labor." He mumbled to himself, gazing through the window and observing the vast expansive cityscape of the capital. That's right. Following the conclusion of the 30-Day War, he declared the Citadel as the new capital of the United World Governnt. It beca open to the greater country, and tourist had been flooding inside.
It ca to a surprise for many that a city of such scale was hidden within the United World Governnt. Especially when most thought of the Citadel as a giant military installation, not an actual major city of massive scale.
Before he could think further about it, the tallic doors of the elevator slid open, unveiling a gorgeous lady hidden within it. The edges of her lips rose to a smirk as she seductively stepped forward and remarked to the Authority. "It's nice to et you, Abraham. You look like you're doing a good job handling the paperwork." Her teasing words resounded within the office.
Abraham raised his eyebrows, confused as to what Charlotte was doing within his office. "Charlotte? Wait, shouldn't you be doing the sa thing as ? Where is your paperwork?" He was naturally astounded, though it sounded like he was craving for soone else to suffer the sa exhausting job as him.
Charlotte's smirk widened as she leaned over his table. "What can I say, Abraham. Bureaucracy has tempered into a great leader." The middle-aged man was even more dumbfounded when he heard of her explanation. "You push your job to your lackeys?" He finally realized how she managed to escape the exhausting workload that consud the higher echelons of the World Governnt.
"How can you say such thing, Abraham? Besides, weren't you the one that announced for the capital to be the Citadel? You know, the office and the cabinet of the World Governnt needed to be transferred into this area. It freed a mont of relief and made realized how bureaucracy even worked." Her body language suggested as if she had undergone through an enlightennt.
Abraham shook his head, unable to even make sense of it. Ever since Charlotte had beco the Pri Minister, she had gradually changed and beca a political overlord within the World Governnt. Learning the intricacies of politics and the way it affected the country made her talented at doing and not doing her job. As such, a thought escaped him.
'Is this my fault?'
