Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies Chapter 340: Coincidence
After hearing what their comrade had said, the other soldiers nodded and said, "We will continue the patrol."
"Alright."
While one of the soldiers went to find Fu Zongshang, Yao Yuechuan reached the parking lot. Seeing him coming, a staff mber asked, "Captain Yao, why are you here?"
Yao Yuechuan looked over the available vehicles and said, "I need an armored car and enough fuel for a round trip to Juncheng City. Also, prepare supplies for at least a week."
The staff mber checked his tablet before frowning and said, "Captain Yao, you don't have a mission in Juncheng City. Can you show your mission dispatch docunt?"
Since Yao Yuechuan was planning to sneak out, he didn't have the necessary docunts. After thinking for a second, he said, "I'm going to pick up my younger sister, Yao Ran. Will you prepare what I need or not?"
The staff mber was stunned by his statent.
Seeing Yao Yuechuan's confident expression, he eventually said, "Please wait a mont, Captain Yao. I need to inform Commander Fu before issuing the supplies."
Knowing he needed to leave before Fu Zongshang found out, Yao Yuechuan frowned and lied without blinking, "I have already inford Uncle Fu. Just get the supplies and the car. If my delay causes anything to happen to my younger sister, can you take responsibility?" The staff mber paled at his words and quickly said, "I will prepare the armored car and supplies imdiately. Captain Yao, please choose your vehicle first."
As the staff mber hurried away to prepare the supplies and docunts, Yao Yuechuan selected the sturdiest armored car with bulletproof glass and enhanced performance.
Soon, the staff mber ca back with the supplies, ammunition, and fuel and then loaded them into the armored vehicle with the help of other staff mbers.
Handing the key to Yao Yuechuan, the staff mber reminded him, "Captain Yao, please be careful on your way. We have received an update from the observation team that the weather may worsen soon."
Yao Yuechuan took the keys from him and smiled, "Thanks for the reminder."
Afterward, he got into the armored car.
The staff then walked to the control room and said, "Open the gate."
"Roger that."
Inside the armored car, Yao Yuechuan waited for the gate to open. Once he received a signal from the staff, he pressed the accelerator and drove out from the hidden headquarters.
Driving into the foggy road, Yao Yuechuan murmured, "Younger Sister, wait for . I will bring you back ho."
After breakfast, Yao Ran, Long Yu, and Shi Xuan rested at the Juncheng Military Base.
At noon, Yao Ran woke up and saw that Long Yu and Shi Xuan were still asleep. With nothing to do, she left a note for them before heading out. Leaving the villa, she made her way toward the villa area's main entrance.
When the guards saw her approaching, one asked, "Miss, are you going out?"
Yao Ran replied, "Yes. I just arrived here today, so I want to look around the base."
The guard nodded in understanding and said, "Please be careful not to go near the slum area. The situation there isn't suitable for sightseeing at the mont."
Hearing this, Yao Ran made a ntal note to visit the slum area later. She smiled and replied, "Thank you for the reminder, Comrade."
After leaving the villa area, Yao Ran wandered aimlessly. After a few minutes of walking, the scenery around her changed.
If the villa area could be described as a clean and well-organized residential neighborhood, the area she was in now resembled a downtown district overrun with holessness and despair.
Observing the people walking the streets with their faces covered and heads lowered, Yao Ran frowned. Based on her mories, the Juncheng Military Base was supposed to be far more prosperous than this.
While Yao Ran compared the base's current state to her mories, a man suddenly stopped in front of her, blocking her path.
Before she could draw her long sword, the man said, "Miss Yao, it's ."
Hearing the familiar voice, Yao Ran paused and looked at him. After a mont of silence, she asked, "Brother Yuan?"
The man pulled down the scarf covering half his face, revealing a familiar face.
"Miss Yao, I didn't expect to see you here," Yuan Rihui said with a hint of surprise.
Yao Ran glanced at his attire and asked, "Why are you dressed like this? If you hadn't spoken, I might have mistaken you for soone looking for a fight."
Yuan Rihui was montarily speechless by her words before replying, "Let's find sowhere else to talk. This isn't a good place to stay for long."
Yao Ran glanced around and noticed several groups of people watching them from a distance. The malice in their eyes was unmistakable, and Yao Ran understood their intentions at a
glance.
Looking away from those people, she calmly said, "Please lead the way."
With Yuan Rihui leading the way, they soon left the area under the unfriendly gazes of the people hiding in the shadows.
Ten minutes later, they stepped out from an alley. Yuan Rihui sighed in relief and asked, "Miss Yao, why were you there just now?"
Sensing his uneasiness just now, Yao Ran replied, "I was just exploring the base. Is there sothing wrong with that place?"
Yuan Rihui nodded and explained in a hushed voice, "That area is a gathering place for rcenaries. Most of them aren't good people."
Hearing the term rcenaries, Yao Ran's eyes flickered for a second. She lowered her voice and asked, "There are rcenaries here?"
"Of course," Yuan Rihui replied. "Those rcenaries will do anything to earn supplies. I have even heard they take on assassination missions. Miss Yao, you should be careful in the future and don't go there alone."
Yao Ran raised an eyebrow when she heard his reminder. Staring at his clothes, she asked, "Then what were you doing there?"
Yuan Rihui sighed helplessly at her question and replied, "I went there to see if we could hire people to transport supplies."
