When the lights finally snapped back on the next ti, they showed a completely and totally exhausted Lily. She wasn’t just tired; she was wrecked.

She was laying on the couch now. Not sitting up, no, she was fully sprawled out, flat on her back like a starfish.

One of her arms was just hanging limp off the side, the very tips of her fingers brushing the floor. One of her legs was dangling down the edge, too, swaying a little. Her eyes were squeezed tightly shut, and her whole body would give a little jerk or a small twitch every few seconds, her muscles still humming.

Obviously, Lily was done. Done in every single way a person could possibly be done. She probably couldn’t move an arm or a leg even if she wanted to. Thinking? Yeah, right. Her brain was just warm, happy mush.

Marcus, though, was just sitting on the ground nearby. He looked pretty relaxed, all things considered. He had one leg propped up, with his knee bent. He was resting his elbow on that knee, and his hand was holding up his head, like he was just thinking about life.

"Pheww..." Alex suddenly said, letting out a huge, long yawn. "It’s getting dark out. Yep, definitely night now. I suppose it’s ti for to finally go ho."

He stretched his arms way, way up high above his head, pushing them toward the ceiling until his back let out a loud pop. He glanced over at Marcus, who was still just sitting there, and let out a quiet little laugh to himself.

He really, really couldn’t wait to get ho and see what all those bonuses were. He was itching to figure out all this weird "system" crap. There were just so many things he wanted to know about this crazy new world.

Like, how did the magic system even work? And what about his special "alchemy" power? He needed to know what he could do with it.

More importantly, he needed to know how he could use it to get stuff for himself, to get rich, or get powerful.

And what was the big-picture story here? What was the "end ga" for this world? There had to be big, scary threats out there.

There had to be kings and queens and all that political junk, too. He wanted to know everything.

And now was the perfect ti to do just that. He finally, finally had the system with him.

This system thing was supposed to be like his very own personal encyclopedia, a complete guide to this new world. Well, at least, that’s how all those manhwas and webnovels and all that good stuff always showed it. It was supposed to have all the answers he needed.

"Anyway, Marcus, I’m heading out. Good night," Alex said, already walking to the door. "Oh, and tell Lily good night for , okay? Tell her she did a great job."

He flashed a quick, knowing grin at Marcus before he just walked right out of the house. He didn’t even wait for Marcus to say anything back or even grunt. He just left, whistling a little tune as the door clicked shut behind him.

After Alex was finally gone, the room was suddenly super, super quiet.

Marcus just sat there. For a long, long ti.

Then, he let out a long, slow, shaky sigh. The sound was huge in the empty room.

He wanted to scream. A real, raw, angry scream. He wanted to jump up from the floor. He wanted to pounce on that arrogant bastard and just pound on him, to beat him with his fists until his whole smug face was black and blue and broken.

And yeah, he ant beat him up, like with a fight.

But... he didn’t. He hadn’t moved at all.

The real, awful, shaful reason he didn’t say a single word, the reason he didn’t try to confront the guy or even look him in the eye, was because of sothing else.

He slowly, slowly looked down at his own pants.

Now that the bright light was back on, he could see it all too clearly. There was a big, wet patch right on the front of his trousers. A sticky, milky-white substance was staining the dark fabric.

There was no doubt, no question at all what it was.

He hadn’t even touched himself. He hadn’t laid a single finger on his "little brother" the entire ti.

And still... it had just... milked itself. It had just leaked out all on its own.

It didn’t happen from just anything. It happened because he was watching. It happened from the pure, ssed-up, thrilling idea that another man was here, using his wife, fucking her senseless right in front of him. And he couldn’t do a single thing to stop it.

It happened from the idea that sobody else—sobody bigger, more muscular, and way more manly than him—was claiming her, right where he was forced to sit and watch it all.

Marcus finally turned his head to look back at his wife. She was still just laying there on the couch, completely passed out.

Her whole dress was just... a scandal. That was the only word for it. It was a complete and total, scandalous ss. All the tiny buttons that went down the front were gone. Not unbuttoned, but gone, ripped right off and probably lost forever.

And because the buttons were missing, her dress was just hanging wide open. Her boobs were right there, just... out.

They were all red and glistening under the yellow light, looking wet and sticky, like soone had been sucking on them for a really, really long, long ti. Her lips looked exactly the sa. All swollen and pouty and shiny.

He slowly, painfully, pushed himself up from the floor. His legs felt a little bit wobbly.

He stood there for a second, just looking at her. Then he walked over to the couch and reached out a shaky hand. He gently, so gently, caressed her face, brushing a few strands of sticky hair off her cheek.

His wife. His lovely, beautiful wife...

’Dammit! Dammit!’ he scread inside his own head. ’Why? Why in the world did that turn on?!’

But... ugh. There was no point in sitting here crying about it. No need to lant or whatever. It happened. It was done.

What he really needed to do right now, what a good husband was supposed to do, was wash her up. He had to get her clean. He had to wash all of that... that filth... off of her. He had to scrub that bastard’s DNA from every single inch of his wife’s body.

"Lily... baby?" he whispered, his voice cracking a little. "Are you alright?"

He gently tapped on her cheek. Tap, tap.

Lily’s face scrunched up in her sleep. She stirred, moving her head on the cushion, and then she let out a low, sleepy, happy-sounding laugh.

And then, in that half-awake, totally out-of-it stupor, she mumbled five words.

"Never been better, husband..."

And just like that, poof. She was gone again, falling right back into a deep, deep sleep, a tiny little smile on her swollen lips.

Marcus’s hand just froze on her face. He snapped his eyes shut. Hard. He took a very, very deep breath, sucking in all the air he could, and then let it out slow. "Never been better." Wow. That... that stung. A lot.

"Right," he finally whispered to the empty room. "Co on. Let’s get you cleaned up."

The only reason he wasn’t shouting, the only reason he wasn’t breaking things, was because of the guilt. The huge, awful, crushing guilt that he, too, was also turned on by the whole, sick, twisted situation.

Suddenly, just as Marcus was about to scoop his wife into his arms, the front door opened again.

Click... creeeak...

Marcus spun around so fast he almost got dizzy. His heart did a painful little flip-flop in his chest.

And yup. Of course. It was him.

Alex was back, just standing there in the open door fra. He wasn’t even all the way in. He was just leaning against the wood with one shoulder, all casual, like he owned the place.

"Oh, right," Alex said, snapping his fingers like he just rembered sothing. "I almost forgot to tell you."

He paused, a lazy grin on his face.

"I’ll be coming back."

He let those words just... hang there in the quiet room.

"Of course," he added, his grin getting wider. "For collecting the... remaining rent."

And then... that bastard winked. A slow, smug, nasty wink, aid right at Marcus.

It was like a dump truck full of ice had just been dropped on Marcus’s head. The rent. He suddenly, painfully, rembered that they still owed this monster 200 crowns.

So this ant... this ant he was coming back.

He was coming back for more.

And of course, Marcus knew, he just knew deep down in his bones, that this bastard wasn’t coming back for "crowns and what not." What a joke! A guy like Alex didn’t care about a asly 200 crowns. For him, 200 crowns was probably just spare change. It was nothing. Pocket lint.

No. He wasn’t coming for money. He was coming back for her.

’I should not... no. I will not allow him to get near her.’
