In the current state of the battle, it seed like my connection with Kuzunoha had weakened once again.

There was also a small amount of interference from her arcane bullshitery. Either that she was currently focusing on subduing this unrelenting Qliphoth Object, or she was actually being challenged by the Drowned Revenant himself, like so sort of being embroidered in a two ways hacking-war.

"Gah~!" A rather disturbing moan slipped my tongue after my body got healed after being split into two. "Heh, at least I'm both immortal and still regenerating."

Either way, it had been 6 hours since I was fighting the Drowned Revenant directly under his domain—in real ti, of course.

If I was talking about the amount of hours I personally felt and spent, it had probably reached more than two digits—thanks to the weird ti dilation and corruption that exist in this plane of existence.

And three digits if we include the amount of painful experience that was incorporated into my mind for every dead end that an 'N' faced in her simulated journey.

"Ahaha~ shit~"

It seed like it wasn't an illusion that the attack of the Drowned Revenant beca much more devastating and aggressive as the fight went on. It was to the point that it evolved beyond my adapting capability,

In this phase of the battle, I began fighting in a much more aggressive manner as well, uncaring of the stacking curses and consequences that might be weighing down every ti I was demolished with one of his attacks.

And I found it eerie that I haven't heard any words from the Revenant ever since he did that one trick to deplete my Sanity like it was nothing.

Now my Sanity was restored to almost 100%, and the Revenant seed to be reluctant to use that one trick again. Either that, he wasn't able to do it again, or was scared since I ca back more determined than ever.

I was also glad that there wasn't much environntal hazard this ti around. There was only the angry Revenant, the calm dark sea, and the serene white sky.

I also didn't see the Revenant summoning any of his undead army here.

Maybe this place was much more sacred than I thought.

"Where the hell is Kuzunoha~" I murmured as I suffered four devastating strikes in a row before even landing a single hit on the berserk Revenant. "Ah~ I want to reprimand her when I'm back~ This is no way of treating her partner who possess the most miraculous blood for her to snack in the future~"

At this point, I might as well start bargaining to limit the amount of blood that she would be able to consu.

This slightly reminded of Daffodil and the witch.

Should Kuzunoha be the witch in this scenario?

"Oh shiteee~" I was struck by one of those world-splitting strikes straight to the head from above, launching deep into the dense oily sea of the calm breeze.

There, drowned and disoriented, I started to notice nurous barbed objects that were piercing my body from every direction. They spun and danced, grinding the flesh and gold hue that were maintaining the shape of my heart after it was torn asunder nurous tis.

The disgusting water mixed with my fleshy residue, while my pain-riddled ecstasy began to feel a little bit numb, which reduced the effect of my self-suggesting masochism that I had been weaponizing to keep myself sane in this cruel world.

'This isn't fair' was probably the words that I would be uttering right now if I could ever let them escape from my throat.

Now that I thought about it, I barely had any ti contemplating about the vision that I received about Daffodil.

Heh, maybe I should be making so paper flowers when I get back, just to ss with Kuzunoha since she would definitely be asking about it to the Daffodil that resided inside my soul.

Confusing, wasn't it? There was Daffodil, who was allegedly the sa person as Narcissus before I took the seat, and then there was Daffodil, who stayed inside my soul for so unknown reason, nad coincidentally because my curious secretary wired the connection between Narcissus and the flower Narcissus, which was widely known as daffodil.

Well, speaking of this, I should start moving and get out of these hellish torture before my whole body rightfully turned into an incomprehensible mush.

Yes, I should start moving.

But move where?

The barbed objects were in every direction.

Maybe I should just move forward.

But where was 'forward'?

Should I just trust my instinct and just move without care and logic?

Then again, this is sowhat logical.

Regardless, I began to move.

Forward, backward, sidewards, I wanted to move regardless of the destination.

Seeing that vision about Daffodil reminded of how stuck-up both of us were when it ca to choosing our own environnt.

Daffodil didn't even bother exiting that eerie mansion.

And I also didn't bother to take an extre asure to shake my status quo when I was still a man nad Lothair.

We probably thought that tunnel-visioning one thod of survival was the best and most efficient thing to do, without caring much about the actual achievents and real breathing world that was waiting to be explored.

Yes, I should move sowhere, sowhere that wasn't here.

Before I knew it, I walked up and reached for the surface of the calm sea as my body was intensely torn and shredded to pieces.

My hand was the first thing that escaped the suffocating water of this sacred sea.

And following it, was the rest of myself—forged and reborn as I erged from a vast huge of gold that tainted the sea.

"Ah, I didn't have my spear and harpoon anymore."

Greeting my conservative self, was a violent strike of an anchor to my cranium.

To my surprise, I managed to only stagger a little bit before maintaining my foot above the soiled sea—instead of being launched kiloters away from my current location like usual.

"Ah...??"
